  2. Well, from what I've seen of old games, they had trouble fitting "Schottenheimer" on the back of his jersey. How's that for "big".
  3. Unfortunately, none of those mentioned potential coaches are a minority. The Rooney rule requires that we interview a minority candidate, which as past dealings have shown, having a "name" already lined up proves to be problematic.
  4. WRT buyouts, I believe you have it backwards. If, indeed those coaches are still under cnt w/ their former teams, those teams are on the hook for whatever salary they're owed AFTER any other deals. Presumably, whatever we were to sign them for, would be more than their old team owes them. Likewise, we (probably) won't be obligated to pay the entire amt of Jauron's (alleged) $3m/yr. Assuming he becomes a DC elsewhere for say $2m/yr, we'd only owe him the remaining $1m/yr.
  5. Bellicheat blew that one!!!

  7. Personally, I think the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 look MUCH better. http://www.theonion.com/content/video/ultr..._modern_warfare
  8. The avatar there is Pooch, a 7 yr old Great Dane.
  9. Doesn't it facilitate heat dissipation?
  10. What gives you any insight into the fact that he would make a competent GM? Based on his on-camera analysis, I can see how you might think he is qualified to be a positional coach (particularly QB) or perhaps an OC. But GM? He might be "connected" more than an outsider, but I doubt as much as an insider. I've seen nothing to indicate to me that he has any ability in assessing player talent, which is the most critical skill for a GM (followed closely by picking a good HC, scouting dept & perhaps assisting in assembling the rest of the staff). I recall him saying the Losman would be the most successful of all the QBs in that class. He might well have ability in assessing player talent, but we don't really know. How'd it work out for the Lions hiring Millen cuz he was such a talented color man?
  11. According to Chris Brown's blog, it's scheduled for 12:30 today.
  12. Actually, the 2 ARE quite different. And IMO, McGee's talent/skillset is much better suited for KRs. Roscoe OTOH, is a superb PR, but merely adequate KR. Again, IMO. Jackson seems to be good at both.
  13. I agree that booing would be classless. I think the appropriate response (though I can't imagine it happening, unlike boos, if we've had a lame 1st half) would be essentially silence. Failing that, a "golf clap".
  14. Actually, there's a "secret" transponder code for plane being hi-jacked. (7500)
  15. From Chris Brown's blog :
  16. Yeah. Eliminate those 2 carries & you only let up about 180 yds and 5 yds per carry.
  17. A block doesn't count as a touch WRT possession. Unless a Chief touched the ball beyond the LOS, it's a deadball once the Skins touch it.
  18. He's served his purpose here (sold tix). It doesn't appear that he's gonna contribute much more than any of our other WRs here (Johnson, Hardy) for us. (We suck w/ him - we won't suck that much worse w/o him.) If you can get a conditional 5th-7th rounder, I'd take it.
  19. Ah, duh. I think the primary explanation is that they're having sex. And 2ndaly, they're not using adequate protection.
  20. I seem to recall we were the worst team in the 70s. Since we managed to take OJ as the 1st overall selection in '69(?), we were obviously pretty lousy in the late 60s, too. Since we're one of the few team to not make the playoffs this century, I'd be inclined to think we've gotta be one of the worst this decade, too. At the time of Ralph's HOF induction, I heard the fact that we have the 2nd worst record of all the original AFL teams.
  21. Article sez 6 mill Americans have had it. I would think prior to '97 or so, only a very few would've been done in the country; probably post 2000 or so, very few Americans would've gone elsewhere to have it done. FWIW, when I had it done in '98, IIRC there was about a 2% chance of "minor issues" a very small % of more serious problems (presumably what the 140 refers to). I'd be inclined to think I'm part of the 2%, but overall I'm happy that I had it done as it was a worthwhile exchange.
  22. Sorry. I think the Raiders still have us beat. Arguably the Skins are embarrassing, as they're disfunctional in their own way, too.
  23. Momentarily ignoring the "you don't let them score" edict, in this particular case, I think this was the better decision anyway. Are we more likely to go ~70 yds for a TD in 2:00 or ~30 for a FG in 25 seconds? Considering our EXTREME inability to sustain a drive, I think the chances of getting lucky for the FG try are MUCH greater. Good decision by default in this case IMO.

  25. I thought you were gonna break into song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1loyjm4SOa0 Maybe this should go in the 40th anniversary thread OTW.
