  1. Thanks for the preparation. You had a 1 in 4 chance and you blew it. Who do you like in the Super Bowl?
  2. You are correct. At the end of 2009 you would have been thrilled if your 2010 schedule had 3-13 Tampa Bay on it. However, TB ended 2010 with a 10-6 record. Was the 2010 schedule weak because TB was on it? I don't think so. The schedule didn't make the Bills miss the playoffs for eleven straight years!
  3. It makes too much sense and therefore the Bills will never do it. Case closed.
  4. Imagine if the Indianapolis Colts were still in the AFC East with the Bills over the last decade?
  5. The 4-3 couldn't be any worse than the 3-4.
  6. How much do you want to bet Fairley won't drop out of the top ten? Are you joking or totally clueless?
  7. What's the problem with a season recap? It's almost 8 months to the next regular season game. Get used to it!
  8. I saw him play every game this year and he didn't look very sharp tonight. He looked much better during the regular season.
  9. Moch doesn't stink, but he's overrated. He is built like Maybin.
  10. Nothing like piles and piles of cash to change your attitude!
  11. Absolutely. This trade up at any cost to draft Luck was foolish talk. Defense (front seven) should be the top priority. The Bills were last in the league in run defense for a reason. Lack of talent!!!!
  12. If you have a good defense you will always be in the game, if your defense is poor then it makes very little difference who the QB is. If your run defense is poor, you are doomed. (2010 Bills last in the league) I suggest spending resources where the need is greatest (i.e. where the team is weakest) Last in the league in run defense is where I feel the Bills should start allocating resources (draft picks, trades or top free agents) The most logical step to improve the team the fastest is to improve the run defense. This has to be done on the defensive line first and then the linebackers. All the talk about drafting a QB with the #3 pick is misguided. The Bills QB was not last in the league or even close. The team is only as strong as its weakest link: run defense. This is the most critical need. (there are many more)
  13. Amen. What will it take for the Kool-Aid crowd to face reality? This is truly unbelievable. Gailey is Lombardi. Fitzpatrick is Johnny Unitas. The defense is the '85 Bears minus 10 players. No argument is too ridiculous for the Kool-Aid gang and yet everyday brings another preposterous rationalization for failure. This is hilarious. Can these posters be serious?
  14. So much commentary here is actually wishful thinking. There are many names thrown around here about players who should start for the Bills. These are the same players that wouldn't make the team for any of the contenders. The Bills have fallen so far and the talent level is so low that almost anybody with a pulse looks like a good fit for the Bills. The Colts have made the playoffs nine straight years and the Bills have not made the playoffs in eleven years. Coincidence? Bottom line: until the Bills have a new owner with new management the future is mediocre at best. Mediocre coaches and players combined with bad management and ownership have cursed this franchise.
  15. How do you justify the statement that the Bills made headway this year? The offense got slightly better, the defense got worse and the special teams got worse and the record got worse! Who drafted Spiller? Who named Trent Edwards the starter and then cut him? Who re-signed Kelsay to a big extension? Who spent $1.7 million on a broken down waived linebacker who hasn't played in 3 years? Is that what you call making headway? It's like finding a shiny dime in a pile of dog crap.
  16. So the Bills finish 4-12. What conclusions can be drawn from this fact? One has to determine if this represents progress or lack of progress. I think it is fair to compare their record to last year’s record. The Bills finished 6-10 in 2009 so let’s call their performance difference a minus 2 since they were two games worse than last year. I get the feeling that the fans are satisfied with Gailey and Nix as coach and GM. Since this is a results oriented business I don’t understand the high approval ratings. I feel a more interesting way to look at the Bills progress or lack of progress is to see how other teams who finished worse than Buffalo last year fared this year. In 2009 Cleveland finished with exactly the same record 5-11, but at least they crushed New England during the season (net score 0). In 2009 Oakland was 5-11, but they improved to 8-8 and won all their division games (net score +3) In 2009 Seattle was 5-11, but they improved to 7-9 and won their division (net score +2) In 2009 Kansas City was 4-12, but they improved to 10-6 and won their division (net score +6) In 2009 Washington was 4-12, but they improved to 6-10 (net score +2) In 2009 Tampa Bay was 3-13, but they improved to 10-6 and maybe deserved to make the playoffs (net score +7) In 2009 Detroit was 2-14, but they improved to 6-10 (net score +4) In 2009 St. Louis was 1-15, but they improved to 7-9 (net score +6) In 2009 Buffalo was 6-10, but their record worsened to 4-12 and they didn't beat any teams with a winning record for the season (net score -2) The nine bottom teams in the NFL last year and only the Bills had a worse record!!! How is that for progress? Among the 8 teams at the bottom last year (excl. Buffalo) the average improvement was +3.75 wins per team. So these bad teams from 2009 improved almost 4 wins per team for the 2010 season and yet Buffalo got two games worse. This record of failure is terrible and I am amazed by the fans who seem satisfied with the way the organization is run from owner on down to the players and coaches. The numbers don’t lie.
  17. You are correct! The Raiders are respectable, the Bills are a joke. The Raiders have some problems, but they actually have some talent. The Bills have Maybin and McCargo and a lot of mediocre talent from the players to the coaches to the management. Every year I keep making bets with guys who think like you and every year I win the bet. Ka-ching!
  18. Sullivan's article was spot on. He summarized the situation accurately. Bills nation had better take off the rose colored glasses and face reality. The truth is ugly, but necessary. Thankfully Sullivan is brave enough to notice the emperor has no clothes.
  19. Signing him is only a good deal if he proves it on the field. As such, he hasn't earned a dime so far. The jury is still out. If he provides significant benefits to the Bills defense then it will be seen as a good signing. The fact remains that he hasn't done anything so how can so many people be excited? He hasn't been productive for over three years. Until proven otherwise it looks like a waste of money.
  20. I couldn't agree more. Tebow? Are you serious? What's with all the man love for this guy? The Bills need lineman and linebackers. Does anybody even watch how bad the linebackers are anymore?
  21. The Bills addressed one of their most pressing needs on defense taking Penn State pass rusher Aaron Maybin with their top pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. “It was a decision we were very happy with,” said Bills COO/GM Russ Brandon. “Aaron was someone we liked from the beginning of the process. It gives us an opportunity to have another pass rusher off the edge and he’s an explosive athlete. He’s a physical specimen and adding him to our mix makes us a lot better.” Bills Vice President of College Scouting Tom Modrak admits that Maybin is young having just turned 21 earlier this month, but sees the Nittany Lion pass rusher as a player who is just scratching the surface. “He’s good on both sides of the ball, right or left defensive end which is not always the case for players,” said Modrak. “His quick first step is equally good on both sides of the ball. And he can run. When he gets in the open field he can chase you down. He’s a speed rusher and can get up the field. He plays very, very hard all the time. Talking to their people there he has the same mentality in practice. The combination of those things made it good for us.” Bills middle linebacker Paul Posluszny, who is very familiar with Maybin’s game, applauded the Bills’ selection. “He’s a great pick for us and he’s going to do a great job for us,” Posluszny told Buffalobills.com. “I’m looking forward to having him on our team.” “He’s got long arms and a nice reach and so he’s got that quick first step,” said Bills head coach Dick Jauron. “If he gets near the quarterback, and we think he’s got the ability to edge and turn toward the quarterback and reach and get to the ball and we like that. You saw him functionally use those gifts both in the run and the pass game.” Maybin played at just 234 pounds for Penn State but bulked up this spring. He also was only a one-year starter. "We were all very comfortable with the production he did have," Brandon said. Brandon, Modrak, Posluszny and Jauron. Where are they now? It seems only Jauron paid the price. (and Bills fans everywhere)
  22. Wow! Talk about looking for a silver lining in a pile of dogsh!t.
  23. The Patriots also trade current players for premium draft picks. As examples, they trade Bledsoe to some loser team for a top pick and trade Seymour to another loser team for top picks. There is a reason that loser teams are losers. They make bad trades or fail to unload players before they lose value and they draft poorly! In addition, losers let their top free agents leave without compensation and they overpay to acquire mediocre free agents. The Bills have made about every error possible over the last 10 years and the examples are too numerous to enumerate. They failed to unload Schobel when they could have got something for him and currently they should unload Lee Evans before his value goes to zero. They won't do it though because that what losers never seem to recognize until it's too late.
