  1. I guess the amusement level depends on which team or player is the subject of the amusement. If it is about the Raiders then it is funny, but when it's about the Bills the guy must be a hack. All the Bills have to do to shut up the trash talk is produce a playoff team. Sportswriters and commentators are bandwagon jumpers. If the Bills ever become relevant again then the tenor of the columns will change. In the meantime, the trash talking has been accurate until proven otherwise. Denial is a powerful force. Why do the Bills fans seem to predict every year the Bills will be contenders and that the Jets,Dolphins and Pats all stink? Denial of reality.
  2. Agreed. Great player, but annoying to listen to. Mute.
  3. Smells like a bust on a top draft pick! Again.
  4. Here is some perspective: He hasn't played a regular season NFL game yet and you have declared the debate over. Perfect.
  5. WTF? Every year like clockwork every team in the NFL thinks they have a shot at this time of year. In about a month reality will start to sink into some thick skulls and fans will begin to realize nothing has changed. The Bills are headed for another long season of frustration and excuses. This team is a long way from achieving anything remotely resembling quality. But as long as you are happy ... who am I to argue? If Chan Gailey was so great why has every team in the NFL passed on him as a head coach for the last decade? Buddy Nix and Ralph Wilson are convinced that everybody else in the league has no idea what they have been passing up all these years. Reality check scheduled for October 2010. Be there.
  6. Hey you kids get off my lawn! You would swear someone invented a cure for cancer with all the publicity this is getting. Can you say, "Who cares?"
  7. Somebody save this post for week 16 and then look back on it and see how ridiculous it really is! YIKES!
  8. Bills fans won't have to "hope" to lose games, it will happen anyway. Delusions of grandeur have infected anyone who thinks the Bills will not be cellar dwellers in the AFC East this year. This is reality.
  9. Check it out. Do you agree with their predictions? My guess is that a lot of Bills fans will be surprised. http://www.ncsports.com/pdf/PowerSweep/201...ason%20PS10.pdf
  10. I think the most telling fact is that the Bills did not even explore the possibility of a trade. Obviously he (Nix) wouldn't get much in return, but I think some effort should have been made! There is no excuse for not exploring a trade.
  11. Maybin sounds like a punk to me. I'd like to see Wood knock his head off!
  12. It smells bad, real bad. I think he is looking to maximize his income and/or force the Bills to cut him so that he can sign with Houston. I do not believe he is doing what is best for the team. The Bills have never won anything with him so I doubt he will be a great loss. Move on Schobel. Why would the Bills invest in a player who only wants to play one more year maximum and a player who has to learn a new system after skipping all the OTA's and mini-camps and conceivably all or most of training camp? It smells like a player trying to cash 100% of his salary and yet give only a 50% effort. I think the Bills are calling his bluff by not cutting him. Maybe they can weasel a draft pick out of a Texas based team?
  13. Hail Freedonia!
  14. The root of the solution is to strengthen the offensive and defensive lines. If you do that you can run and stop the run, but you can also pass because the QB gets time and you can pressure the opposing QB to make errors. The key to success is building outstanding lines on both sides of the ball. Sadly, this is where any objective observer can see that the Bills are seriously deficient. Until the lines are vastly improved, the Bills will continue to suffer mediocrity.
  15. The key is not how much you spend, but how wisely you spend it. In this area, Wilson has failed miserably over the years. For instance, I think Kelsay gets around $5 million per year and that is not cheap, but it is cetainly not wise. There are countless examples.
  16. The NFL is a greedy corporation. It's all about the money. Your money into their pockets. No thanks NFL!
  17. You obviously are unaware of the All-Time greatest 1st round bust: Walt Patulski.
  18. Oh Please! I suppose the Bills and Pats will switch places in the standings too! I'll take the Pats over .500 and you can have them under .500 - just tell me how freakin' much you want to lose!
  19. Excellent post. Kelly had many great attributes as a player, but off the field I have seen little sign of intelligence.
  20. The Stadium Wall: 1- where the Kool-Aid punch bowl has people waiting in line 2- where all the messengers are shot for speaking the truth as they see it regardless of their knowledge or affiliation 3- where division opponents are slammed because they have no idea what they are doing Every reporter who ever criticizes the Bills gets ripped on this board. Do you think everyone is out to criticize the Bills unfairly? Could it be that the Bills deserve the criticism or that it might be accurate? Every year the posts here predict the Bills will be better than the previous year. Yawn. Ever wonder why in spite of the Kool-Aid predictions why the Bills have missed the playoffs for ten straight years? Is it just because writers are unfairly picking on the Bills? Yeah, that must be it. (forget the incompetent owner and management)
  21. I don't think this 5th round pick has been criticized. Also, if the he was in such demand, and Falcons and Giants wanted him badly as you say, why was he still there in the 5th round? I like the pick, but let's not get carried away about how badly he was wanted.
  22. To Chandler#81 Start thinking with your head and not your heart. OK The offensive line is completely unproven with huge question marks and it is going to be a giant work in progress. Not according to my 'head'. Hangartner IS NFL proven, Levitre is all-rookie and we saw enough of Wood to believe he'll become the best of the 3. Improved tackle play is needed but it's not a Giant work in progress. Are you serious? The offensive line you describe is fantasyland. The OL is a mess to everyone in the league but you apparently. You describe those three players like they are Pro-Bowlers. NOT. What does a giant work in progress look like to you? Yikes! The defense is going to be completely overhauled with an entirely new scheme and about 5 or 6 players playing out of position and/or learning a new position. Every returning player has to learn a new system from scratch. And this is terrible? Are you advocating we stay the same?? An experienced LB and DB are just that: experienced. Their transition will be smooth. Responsiblities remain largely the same as well as the mission: Tackle the guy with the ball! Since when does a complete overhaul automatically translate into success? It usually takes years. You are unrealistic to believe the defense will be a finely tuned machine. No, I am not advocating remaining the same, but I know (unlike you) that it takes time. The coaching staff is completely new and they have never worked as a group before. Nope! http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...12-e28749931a34 The coaching staff has never worked as a group before. You are factually wrong. Even the link you provided proves you are wrong. When was the last time this collection of coaches worked as a complete staff together? Never. The QB position is completely unsettled with no clear quality starter or backup.[no response] I guess you are not worried about that minor situation? The competition in the division is far superior to the Bills. Mere conjecture on your part. We split with 2 of them and damn near all 3, last year. NYJ's playoff run was an illusion. If the Colts chose to go undefeated, Jets were toast. Miami? Seriously?Do you know what specious arguments are? You just made them. I'll take the Jets,Patriots and Dolphins heads up against the Bills this year in every game. You can name your price! Six games total. How much do you want to lose. Put up or shut up. My head tells me that this is not a recipe for success. Then create a new recipe for your head.. Oooo! good witty answer! Time will tell.
  23. We'll see who is more accurate. I could offer a rebuttal for all your points, but it would obviously be a waste of time. The logic of your arguments drifts all over the place and your assumptions are based on hope and not reality.
  24. Every year its like a broken record. As the memories of the last disappointing season fades, the Kool-Aid crowd starts with all the chest thumping on how great the Bills will be in the upcoming season. Start thinking with your head and not your heart. The offensive line is completely unproven with huge question marks and it is going to be a giant work in progress. The defense is going to be completely overhauled with an entirely new scheme and about 5 or 6 players playing out of position and/or learning a new position. Every returning player has to learn a new system from scratch. The coaching staff is completely new and they have never worked as a group before. The QB position is completely unsettled with no clear quality starter or backup. The competition in the division is far superior to the Bills. My head tells me that this is not a recipe for success. I hope the optimists enjoy their dreams of glory in May because the cold harsh winds of reality are schedulesd to arrive this fall.
  25. He is appealling to his base: other dunces. He stands a good chance in that respect. I think he took too many shots to the head.
