No respect? Why should anyone respect the team that picked 3rd in the draft? LOL
BTW, I think the new uniforms are the biggest improvement the team made all year!
Have you ever heard of a normal distribution curve? I guess statistics wasn't on your curriculum. If you had studied statistics you would know that about 68% of the distribution lies within one standard deviation of the mean. The mean in a 16 game season is 8 wins and 8 losses. Therefore, about two thirds of the population will be near 8 wins plus or minus 1 standard deviation. Statistically, King is stating the obvious and you are repeating it.
Key addition: Marcel Dareus Key subtraction: Aaron Maybin
Verdict: The Bills are improved.
Are the Bills playoff contenders: NO!
Win percentage = games won/ games played.
What is 0 / 0? It's not .500.
Strong at linebacker? Are you serious?
You have a bunch of castoffs from other teams and unproven young players and Kelsay! Where do you get strength from that scenario?
I know everyone wants to be optimistic about the Bills, but the reality is that this LB corp is a patchwork that strives to reach average status. Average would be an improvement, but by no means is this group strong.
It doesn't matter when he wrote the article. He was right. It is typical for fans to overreact to every little thing including a meaningless pre-season game. The fact is that experienced Bills watchers have seen it all before many times. I have been watching the Bills since they began. The fans lurch from despair to euphoria in a matter of hours. This is ridiculous. Felser has taken the opportunity to look at the big picture and it happened to conflict with the momentary flicker of hope shown in a pretend game. Whoop-de -doo. Why would anyone get upset by someone who is sharing his wealth of experience observing Ralph Wilson's Bills? Is his opinion less valuable or less accurate than those who thought the Bills were a playoff contender for each of the last 11 pre-seasons? How about the inexperienced who think the Bills are a playoff contender this year?
In a Twitter world where opinions are generated in seconds without thought or reflection, I'll take the experience and wisdom of a thoughtful writer who has been doing it for decades. Maybe someday those who are outraged at Felser's opinions will realize how correct he was. Maybe. Of course, that could change in 5 minutes.
I largely agree with a modification or two.
Torbor may have been the worst player on this team outside of the offensive line...This is NOT TOO BAD team news. Morrison is OK depth, our starters are AVERAGE AT BEST.
I am fairly certain Jasper would beat Torbor in a foot race, even though he is double the size.
Will he wake up with more talent? I hope so.
Based on everything I've seen or read about Merriman over the last three years, I would definitely bet that he will not play 8 full games for the Bills this season.
I'll take the "UNDER" How about you?
It never ceases to amaze me how dysfunctional this organization is.
Ralph Wilson should be ashamed that he allowed and enabled this gross mismanagement. If it weren't for Cincinnati, this would be the worst run franchise in the NFL.
Technically, he's not very good and most importantly he doesn't have good instincts. I think this was another wasted pick. It raises the question: why the heck was Tom Modrak ever hired?
Modrak was the bust. (along with a couple GM's and coaches and an owner)
It's a pre-season game for a team coming off a year where they finished 4-12. Maybe a result like this will temper the unrealistically optimistic expectations.
This is not pessimism, it is reality. Sadly, the re-building will take a couple more years.
The OL is in need of a serious upgrade. What line are you watching buddy?
The OL stinks. Do you know a good line when you see one? I don't think you have any idea.
I don't judge by age, potential or experience, but I do judge by what I see and by objective measures not hypothetical "what ifs" or "what might be" in the future. Everyone in the league can see it except the myopic ones drinking the Kool Aid.
The Bills have maybe a guard and a center. The tackles and right guard are very questionable. Get real.
