This deal is a fair indication on how far away the Bills are from being serious contenders. They are trading for QB rejects from terrible teams. Does this sound like a deal the true contenders are making?

What a yawn! This is absolutely no surprise!!!! Merriman is done and the Bills were not going to keep two useless substitute pass rushers who make about $5 million per year (Kelsay and Merriman) Merriman was clueless against Minnesota. He looked lost and slow. Goodbye. Kelsay was equally clueless, but he was slightly quicker getting to the pile after the play ended. Why they keep Kelsay is a complete mystery? He has no beneficial impact on the defense at all. In fact, just the opposite. Opposing offenses just load up and pad their stats when Kelsay is in the game. I won't consider the Bills defense as a serious threat until the coaches and management get rid of Kelsay. (throw in McKelvin too!)

If the DL starters are Mario Williams, Dareus, Kyle Williams, and Anderson can the team afford to keep Merriman and Kelsay as backups and/or situational players when each has a cap hit of $5.75 million? I don't think so.

Tashard Choice or Johnny White or both? FB – McIntyre (is he necessary?) WR- Johnson, TJ Graham, maybe Jones and Nelson and then a lot of question marks Guards- Levitre, Urbik, Rinehart? and then what? Tackles- Pears, Hairston, Glenn, Sanders? Centers- Wood, Brown?, Asper? Defense ends- Williams, Anderson +6 others (is this the year Kelsay and/or Merriman get cut?) Tackles- Dareus, Williams, Troup LB- Barnett, Morrison, Bradham, Sheppard, Carder, Moats?, White? CB-Gilmore, Williams, Florence, McGee, Brooks, Rogers? McKelvin? S-Wilson, Searcy, Byrd, Scott Snapper,punter and kicker - no change I don't know. Your thoughts?

Just about right. I would add a legitimate WR to pair with Johnson. Fitz would be a great backup QB, but he's not a top notch starter. TE has always been a joke for the Bills.

On paper it looks good, but every team in the league is happy right now. Let's talk about it in 3 or 4 years.
