CJ Spiller Is going to be a weapon
Billsguy replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have touched on a major point here. The Bills coaching staff, for whatever reason, has failed to get the ball into the hands of two of the best athletes on the team. The failure to utilize Spiller and Brad Smith is downright criminal. These are the type of decisions which reinforce the view that this coaching staff is mediocre at best. In addition, Fred Jackson has been phenomenal all season and even he doesn't get enough carries. Who is responsible? Chan Gailey. Gailey will never be more than a mediocre coach. -
The Bills are 5-3 and lost 2 by 3 points

The Bills are 5-3 and lost 2 by 3 points. Yes, that is true. In addition, the Bills are 5-3 and won 2 by 3 points. -
those of us that have left western ny
Billsguy replied to kickedface's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are so many Buffalo ex-pats and each has a different point of view. Having traveled extensively through the US I can tell you there are no perfect places, but only different places. I grew up in WNY and wouldn't have traded it for anything, but I'm glad I left when I did. There are many things to praise about the region and many things to criticize. I choose to remember all the great things and hope my hometown prospers in the future. -
Is it just me, or does this game look very odd

Give Merriman a Chance Next Summer?
Billsguy replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is real simple, and there really isn't much to discuss. He can't play. He can't play physically and even when he is on the field he's not effective. What else is there? He is a pretty expensive locker room cheerleader. It's over - move on. This is not how you build a Super Bowl contender by acquiring broken down veterans who can't play anymore. -
Anyone know how to find the post from a couple months ago that speculated on the over-under for the number of games played by Merriman this year? I'm actually surprised he made it to three games (even though he made little impact in the games he played).

Maybin has 0.5 less sacks than our entire team
Billsguy replied to deep2evans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you look at the defensive statistics, the Bills defense is very poor. Who is responsible for the defense? The facts are the facts and the Bills cannot seem to come up with the big stop late in the game. This has been going on for quite some time. Until the Bills defense improves during crunch time then the Bills will still be considered playoff pretenders. -
I hope so. So far it has been "lights off!"

Sal Maiorana of the Rochester D&C summarized it best: "This defense, while improved and upgraded talent-wise, is still pretty weak. It has now given up 454, 495 and 458 yards in the last three games. Also, 81 first downs and 89 points." OUCH! The fact that the Bills are 3-1 is remarkable in light of the leaky defense. The Bills don't get any plays from Kelsay, Edwards, Davis and others. It is embarrassing when their own coach admits that they were no physical match for the Bengals. There is still a lot of work to be done.

If by solid you mean making no tackles or sacks?

What a huge improvement in the new uniforms! I think it helped everyone bury the past. -
***The OFFICIAL I've sinned against my fanhood thread ***
Billsguy replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
after two games? Remember when Ralph Wilson gave Dick Jauron a contract extension after 6 games? Please start this thread again in week 16 if you are interested in a valid discussion. -
Are you referring to the powerful Kansas City offense? The same Kansas City team that was beaten 48-3 yesterday?
-
McKelvin was a big liability for the Bills. Congrats to the Bills for a great comeback win, but McKelvin was bad and I agree it could be very ugly against the hurry up offense from NE. George Wilson and Jairus Byrd didn't look very good either. On a positive note, Fred Jackson was a beast and CJ Spiller showed some signs of life. The WR's are showing some good things too. The other thing we learned this week: Kansas City is really bad.

I read countless posts how the Bills get no respect in the media. They win one game and I've read half a dozen articles jumping on the Bills bandwagon. The secret to respect is performance. Even the ESPN idiots are climbing on board. Showtime's Inside the NFL cast was gushing about the Bills. They all picked the Bills to win against the Raiders. Just win baby! The rest will take care of itself.

Please don't post when you have no idea what you are talking about. You know nothing about math or reading comprehension.

I think it's apparent from the posts on TBD that the Bills are clearly the Superbowl favorites now. The only question remains is which team from the NFC will challenge them.

How does the Buffalo media whiff so bad on the Bills?
Billsguy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you serious? Do you expect the media or anyone else to reach an entirely new conclusion about the team after each game? Week one (41-7) obviously destined to win the Super Bowl. Bandwagon rolling full steam. By week four the Bills could be coming off a humiliating loss and do you expect the opposite overreaction? Seriously, how can you jump to such ridiculous conclusions after one game? Remember a few years ago when the Bills smoked the Pats 31-0 in game one? Have you learned nothing? Did you criticize the team critics for being clueless about the team after that game also? This is plain stupid. Wait until the end of the season before you pass judgment on who was right and who was wrong about the team. Seriously. -
The Most Encouraging Thing about this Win

Congratulations to the Bills on a solid win. However, it is way too early to jump to conclusions. -
How much would you be willing to wager on a ridiculous prediction like that?

Forbes Ranks The NFL's Most Valuable Teams
Billsguy replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Missing the playoffs for 11 seasons is not a great plan. It may be profitable, but it sucks as a strategy if winning is the objective. Clearly, Ralph Wilson finds profits more important than winning! This is ridiculously naive. Ralph Wilson cares for Ralph Wilson. He doesn't care about WNY. If he cared, he would have already lined up local interests to succeed him as owner. -
anyone else excited to see Merriman play an entire game?
Billsguy replied to piccone 89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
anyone else excited to see Merriman play an entire game? It's like asking the kids if they are excited about gifts from Santa Claus. Are you predicting Merriman will finish an entire game? I think there is a 80% chance he plays the entire game. I think there is a 50% chance he plays all of the first four games. I think there is a 25% chance he plays all of the first eight games. I think there is a 0% chance he plays all 16 games.
