Kyle loves the game. He loves the Bills. He's an adopted son of Buffalo. He believes in his own ability and the abilities of his teammates. He can still play at a high level. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a year or two extension to lessen cap impact. He is the type of player that McDermott will want around as long as he is willing to play.

I predict Vallejo goes to IR....just a thought...

I know this and yet...I still want him to be our 3rd QB...its my character flaw...

There is less talent at this time this year than last. I could argue that almost every position group has been downgraded but K and P. Some of its due to age (DL); some of its due to scheme changes (OL), wrong fit talent (QB)...but I agree we will be better coached. Here is where I diverge -- there is no way Whaley could have been retained. He was fired the day of the "I was not privy" press conference. The owner should have taken that hit -- but Whaley ended up looking powerless at best, foolish at worst. The PR part of the job may not be important to some but it is to Kim Pegula. There is no way she wanted the franchise represented that way. I think the Bills did the right thing by moving on from Whaley after the draft. Beane could not have put together the staff he has until after the draft. Beane has taken the philosophy of correct it all now and bottom out--McDermott has embraced that because he wants a team of personalities that fit his. The talent ebb is a natural progression of remaking a team largely in one year. In terms of the downgrade in talent-- there are a bunch of things we will never know-- was Sammy a malcontent/unsignable WR with a potential chronic injury; had Darby regressed and lost confidence; did Ragland's knee impact questionable mobility even more; is JWill a fumbler who didn't show the work ethic to improve...I don't know.....

Every time a GM or a coach has been fired since Wade Phillips and John Butler it has meant that the Bills failed to produce a winner and missed the playoffs. I miss Whaley because I hoped he would be the GM to deliver a playoff birth. It didn't happen. I will miss Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott if they are fired for not producing a winner. That being said -- I think the Pegulas plan to give both McDermott and Beane a 5 year runway...and plan to tune us all out until about year 3....

They are trying to tank. Brandon, Terry and Kim won't allow it to be said publicly. The GM speak/Coach speak is working its magic. Next year at this time there will be leaks about gutting the roster to deliver a prospective franchise QB and 3 or 4 other prospective superstars...

I guess I am in the minority...saw this coming and renewed anyway. Six picks, maybe seven in the top 80 in 2018. Also, some money to throw around to free agents. I think there is a plan for the future rather than constantly band aiding to 7-9, 8-8 and 9-7 which is what the last 7 or so years have been. I will put up with one or two 3 win seasons to accumulate talent, but this dream scouting staff we put together better deliver.

Peterman makes the 53 with ease over Yates. He may be the starting QB week 1 and then beyond. I think the decision is whether the Bills will keep 3 QBs. If the Bills want a 3rd QB who can do other things, they may go for Webb over Yates..

Josh Allen has several games to continue to prove himself against decent competition this year. Oregon, Boise, Air Force, a bowl game...That 5 INT game against NE really sticks out..and throwing 15 INTs against 2nd tier competition also is concerning. He has the size, the confidence, the mobility...and is a gunslinger...would love to see him figure out how to use the checkdown more and not throw into tight windows so often. The posts about anticipatory throws are dead on.

Panthers just released Joe Webb, who also plays special teams. Beane and McDermott love Joe Webb.....watch out for this one and Yates to be gone.

As much as I believe this to be BS.......the whimsical side of me can dream......
