  1. Answered yes to both...but my life is quite the opposite....San Francisco Hippie Girl and mostly veggies ...very happy...
  2. I corrected this based on the opinion of Auburn fans
  3. Very much agree. Plus he is very worth keeping around for a couple of years as a wedge buster and wedge maker on KO and KOR return and for leadership. I have a feeling though the Bills are going to have to look elsewhere for 3rd and 4th and less than one pick-ups, just from watching Carolina last year...
  4. Just read this. Pretty good endorsement of Beane from Tolbert. TBH, Tolbert's skills have deteriorated. He doesn't hit the holes with the quickness and force he did 2 years ago. Can he regain that? We will see -- but he makes the Bills on leadership alone this year.
  5. Sure did.....looks like he has been working hard...
  6. Great...there are some meatball recipies I want to see from these posters... Would love this signing.....Sammy needs to see how a true pro approaches the game.
  7. He views it as his team...history and all and is motivated to change it...He won't back away from the miserable recent past and say this wasn't on my watch. I tend to like folks who view the challenge of a turnaround as exciting rather than something to push away. Personal preference I guess. That being said -- all this is bull **** until the team starts winning consistently.
  8. Series of articles linked on the TBD home page from the Syracuse Post are also worth the read. This Matthew Fairburn guy does a pretty darn good job. Really promising to me that Coach McD owns this...
  9. The Hard Knocks stuff is classic....definitely the sanitary version.
  10. Lots of encouragement to #99..."you can't be blocked!" http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Wired-for-Sound-Mike-Waufle/66b3d533-cf90-4a51-aa5d-fe25784a6a1e
  11. Did the Cowboy's bring back Barry Switzer this offseason and I missed it? This many arrests/incidents can only mean that Barry is back...
  12. Ted Turner had the idea about a 24 hour news network and was panned viciously in some cases... In the same ilk, 30 years ago, who thought Sports Talk radio, basically a call in show built around barroom and water cooler talk would take off.....and these two were the pioneers.
  13. Just like McDermott had little influence on the Beane hire.... Hopefully it leads to something big for the Bills!
  14. He weighed in at 290-- wonder if they are going to have him play some DE? Ohio Concealed Permit Law: http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2923.12
  15. Probably explains why he wasn't interviewed for the Bills GM job. Knew Chiefs job was going to be open. I am happy with who we got though....It would have been interesting if Gettleman had retired to open up the role in Carolina for Beane. I think the Bills job is better than the Panthers...less fiscal constraints in the ownership--even considering Superman Cam!!!
  16. Just picked up 4 tix...driving from Raleigh. Planning on making the tailgate. Stepson is a Panthers fan-- but go easy on him.
  17. If you start arguing with yourself...worry more????
  18. I gotta wedgie....
  19. A Darth Vader like awakening perhaps????
  20. I thought John Butler and AJ Smith combined with Wade Phillips was a good and cohesive combination but that was essentially an extension of Polian Levy. I think the Bills have been at their best when the coaching staff and the football ops/personnel side were essentially equals and evaluated together by ownership rather than having one czar. If you remember those combinations -- both the coach and GM had direct pipelines to the owner but they used those forums to support each other not to undermine each other. I think Bills have that cohesion now for the first time in 17 years...I view this year as 1987 or 1997 when the Bills needed a year to transition the roster -- but were on the cusp of a really good team. This time it might take two or three years. It takes less time if young vets like Darby, Lawson, Watkins, Ragland, John Miller and this year's draft class realize some of their promise.
  21. Three thoughts on this... 1) Tough to judge McD until game day. That's the first time we see how the Bills will exploit other teams weaknesses and cover the Bills weaknesses. Its also the first time we will see game management and clock management. These are all key. I just can't get excited anymore about press conference rhetoric or mic'd up practice sessions. 2) The Pegulas have spared no expense to build a coaching staff and a football administration/scouting staff. I hope they exercise paitience with this team (5 years) unless its an unmitigated disaster. Are there indications that this staff is different -- yes so far. For example, part of me is glad the Bills did not sign Maclin...the fans have had 17 years of chasing the shiny penny and maybe not the smartest use of the cap. McD and Beane made a decision on a price for Maclin and stuck to it...its not emotion its building a roster. 3) For the first time since Butler and Wade (and Polian and Marv before them), I feel like the Bills football operations and coaching staff are aligned...this is really important....they are essentially equal..there is no czar like Donahoe or no friction like Marrone/Ryan vs. Whaley...the parts of the organization are evaluated as one rather than separately. Yes -- this all is off the topic of just McD -- but it all fits together...Am I optimistic -- sure--all we have is hope...we have no substantial evidence of competence or incompetence right now and I want to be positive.
  22. Great story. BTW, thanks for volunteering for such a wothy cause Kelly. You were obviously (not Marrone obviously but real obviously) a very positive part of Demetrius' life.
  23. God bless sf and riverboat richie...man, I don't want to imagine life without my wife...I tear up just thinking about it. I hope the great memories provide a little comfort to you both...
  24. Always disappointed when the Bills miss a chance to add talent...but we get to see more Zay Jones and I have a sneaky feeling we are all going to like what we see... This is a great thread....the wonder of TBD and this family amazes me. Thanks Bills brothers and sisters.
