This team stinks thanks for horrible draft.
JoeF replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tre White Zay Jones Dion Dawkins all three are better than what the Bills currently have starting at these positions ... The Bills started last week with 6 picks; they gained a fifth rounder from Gillislee and then parlayed this into 3 immediate starters and an extra first round pick next year and still have 6 picks... Its hard for me to be mad at this...speculating on what the team passed up is just that, speculation. What the team has is what matters. Barring injury these three picks all crack the top 22 and the Bills are positioned very well for a QB draft that has potentially 8 QBs that are more talented than the first QB picked this year--Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson, McSorley, Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk...they all have a greater junior year history then Mitchell Trubisky... Picking the BPA is a great freaking talking point but reality is if its close on the evaluation you draft to fill holes.. -

I will never understand the life he lived. Its so outside my frame of reference. He made a lot of bad choices...and committed the worst crime imaginable, taking another human life illegally. His loss however pains those who loved him and to them offer condolences.

I would only sign Chad as an UDFA -- cause that's what I think he will be so why waste the draft pick. I believe the best scenario for Chad is Buffalo. If he and his agent are smart they would accept any offer from the Bills even a no bonus one over anything else.. A lot of folks would say don't put him in Buffalo where he has a posse and has a history of trouble -- but I am willing to risk an UDFA that the lightbulb comes on -- He's really following the path his uncle followed in the pre-hyper media age. Jim needed time to mature--a lot of that happened in Houston. There, Jim was always surrounded by family--I think Chad needs that--Ed, Danny, etc kicked Jim's ass when needed...Chad will never be Jim on the field--there just isn't another Jim. But Chad is a talent and can do things Jim couldn't with his legs...would love to see him in a Bills uniform if only to see that name on the Jersey...Jim will allow him to wear #12 if he lives up to the standard.

PFT: McCoy's absence not contract related

Gosh -- by the reaction you would think Shady was out at 3 AM at a private club smacking off duty cops over the head with champagne bottles....He was probably making sure the rented pony/jackass showed up on time.. (Sorry Yolo-- I missed the reference before I posted..) -
McDermott establishing Leadership Council amongst players
JoeF replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone else pointed out that McDermott's never been a head coach-- so all we have are others opinions of him... Bill Polian: http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/27/polian-couldnt-happier-bills-choice-mcdermott/ Ron Rivera and Luke Kuechly: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Carolinas-Rivera-Kuechly-attest-to-McDermotts-readiness/8862e635-57e3-42bb-a94a-5cba2073ec55 Andy Reid and Mike Tomlin: http://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/13/sean-mcdermott-mike-tomlin-andy-reid-buffalo-bills/ Plus he's hired a very experienced and respected staff. He seemed to value experience more than any other trait. We can't tell how he will coach in a game..but I don't remember the Panthers D being overly penalized -- last year only 24 defensive penalties the entire year and I can't ever remember one for 10 men on the field.. http://www.nflpenalties.com/team/carolina-panthers?year=2016 -

Buffalo News - Skurski tweeted yesterday that it was Shady's 5 year old son's birthday....Florio = click bait king....amazing how far this guy has gone just reposting others work.. -
Totally concur that he will do fine and I don't wish him ill will. However, he will be doing a lot more talking about himself and his "achievements" than he will be providing critical analysis. His analysis will almost always lead back to him rather than about the specific situation. That was my main point.

Terry and Kim get back financially what is akin to buying a Snickers bar for them ($300K a year). ESPN gains a blowhard who will spend more time talking about how great he was than he does working to provide critical analysis. Coach Ryan--I have met John Madden and you are no John Madden.

McDermott establishing Leadership Council amongst players
JoeF replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Under Rex: Discipline issues among players (not on time, sleeping, etc.) Lack of work ethic from the head coach Poor execution of the basics -- knowing alignments, getting plays in on time, etc Despite this lack of foundation -- a cocky arrogance Under McD: Player friendly but also player driven Attention to detail Great work ethic from the coaching staff Humility Focus on the fundamentals - coaches prepared, player discipline, blocking and tackling, maximum effort Give me McD--I like what we are seeing......but all that matters are the W's.... Rex was loved but not respected...Players don't work hard when they don't respect the leader. -

Mr. Wilson showed that loyalty to a city like Buffalo is a good investment. Contrast that with the: Rams -- who have become the centerpiece for a mixed use development in LA Chargers -who will play in a 30000 seat soccer stadium for two years and then become a tenant to the Rams Raiders - who appear to be on their way to Vegas.. Mr. Wilson could have cashed out 20 years before his death -- invested well and still acted upon his philanthropic interests but he waited until Bills fans and Erie County showed time and time again how vital the team was to the area. He lined up successor owners and laid out the rules that the team would remain in Buffalo. We were fortunate to have such an honorable and loyal man as our owner. When the day comes that a Lombardi trophy is awarded to the Bills (and it will come), I hope the owners will recognize Ralph with one of their first statements.

Amherst Ale House is all in...if this was for coaches named Ryan, AAH would be bankrupt... AmherstAleHouse @AmherstAleHouse 4h4 hours ago Ok, if @ZachBrown_55 signs with us, all LBs named Brown get free wings when they visit this year! (Paging @PB_Number2) #BillsMafia

Don't let him go. Call Jimbo to show him the deer.

Prediction: 3 years, $14.5 million, $6.5 million in his pocket. Young, coming off a pro bowl year in a prove it year but not a huge impact player. Salaries: $1.5 million (guaranteed); $3 million, $3.5 million. Basically getting $8 million in his pocket in year 1. Colts or Bills.....
-
The Bills had a lot of roster spots to fill. In a way, Tyrod's restructure probably put enough money back in the cap to consider Brown at a price that is a good compromise for both sides. The Bills have definitely shopped at the discount store for most of the signings and combined with some other work -- Zach Brown may be affordable now. The front office is doing a nice job filling spots for reasonable investments. I also like that the team is getting some up and coming talent..Hyde, Poyer, DeMarco, Holmes, etc...all 26 or 27, all reaching peak... Don't look now -- but this may be an actual plan.....holy ****...

Not too many games are won from the whirlpool tub...the guys ribs were like fine china...

The 3 running plays with him taking an option pitch were pretty cool as well. Like this one....

Are the Bills hoping another team signs Gillislee?
JoeF replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The low tender strategy worked okay with Groy-- he wasn't a bargain by any means but the resulting contract is reasonable and the Rams did the negotiating work-- I think the same thing could happen with Gillislee . -
Gug--I have now been to 4 Dead and Company shows and I have to agree... Very under the radar....Todd Sheaffer from Railroad Earth -- diverse -- rocker to blue grass to folk to country...mastered them all..

When Mcdermott says..."earning the right to win" he's righ
JoeF replied to Billsfed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It even took Jim Kelly several years to figure out it wasn't about him, it was about the team. The late 80's early 90's team had superior talent -- built by one of the best personnel staffs ever assembled -- Polian, Bulter, AJ Smith..etc. It took 4 years for them to assemble the parts and it took Darryl Talley to teach them how to win together. The current team has talent but not talent comparable to the 4X Super Bowl team and make no mistake -- talent is the most important factor, but I agree that talent without hard work, focus, sacrifice and discipline won't win. -
A classy young man. I wish him the best. I hope when the Bills play the Raiders, EJ is at QB.
