Report: Jets to pursue Jim Harbaugh for HC
BuffaloBud replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best thing is for the Jests to go a different direction so OSU can beat Jimmy down each year. -
Good deal that you have Buffalo Trace on hand. Have to be at the liquor store when it arrives here in OH to get your hands on it. Highly recommend the Woodford Reserve. Another good one, out of Utah, is High West.

I've used AirBnB personally once. Chicago area - 2 nite stay - $80 a nite. Clean, close to the train line, couldn't ask for more. My folks rented a flat in Williamsville for the month of August a couple of years ago. Turned out awesome.

The Schultz and Dooley steins would be interesting purchase. -
The change of season (limited amount of daylight) may have something to do with it. Make sure you are getting enough exercise. Monitor / limit the amount of alcohol. Melatonin is a good suggestion. Meditation is a good mechanism to help with your sleep.

So I put in an offer on a house today
BuffaloBud replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Fingers crossed Kirby. One tip from my paternal grandmother when I bought my first house. Don't start a project with the house until the first one is finished. -

Robert Foster pays it forward to a young fan!
BuffaloBud replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice read. I would hope though that the young man wrote a personal note to Robert Foster for the generosity. -

Hockey is fast paced for the casual sports fan
BuffaloBud replied to Jrb1979's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The development of high definition tv has made watching hockey on tv so much better than back in the 70's / 80's. So much easier to follow the puck on the ice. I remember watching the Sabres / Leafs / Habs over the air (Hockey Night in Canada) and the only way you knew where the puck was by the movement of the camera. I do think is it a bit of an acquired sport to follow. Or, where you grew up. Rules wise its a bit of a mash up of soccer and basketball. Baseball on tv is like being put to a slow death to me. I'd rather watch it in person - fresh air, etc. -

Godspeed to your dad Jim. My dad took me on one of his business trips to Cleveland and Detroit when I was in junior high (I think). Anyway, he gets us tickets to Indians and Tigers games. Nice box seats. I noticed that my dad gives the usher our tickets, the usher wipes down the seats, and my dad "slips" the usher a couple of bucks. I didn't say anything - just noticed. And I noticed other men, relative same age or older doing the same thing. Later on I realize that he / they were tipping the usher for wiping down the seats. Now when I get seats at my local AAA ballpark, Huntington Park, or other stadium where the usher wipes down your seat I make sure that I have a few bills available for the ushers. I also observe others in my age range to younger that haven't a clue.

NFL trade day tracker-It should be a wild day
BuffaloBud replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of surprised that Houston went the WR route after their running back went down /out with ACL. -
It's been a while, but went during their "Grand Illumination" deal. If you like history and seeing various trades in period level depiction - then you'd prolly like it.

Have a question (couldn’t watch the game)
BuffaloBud replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I forgot who the color commentator was on the broadcast (Dan Fouts i think), but he was dead on. JA is not stepping up into the pocket where his protection is, he is scrambling out away from his protection. Just because JA is / was in Green Bay where MagicMan, Favre, and Rodgers have made history by moving around, doesn't mean he can do this carte blanche. He has to learn that the NFL is not Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference of the NCAA. -
Spent many a weekend for a couple of summers in that area. Not fishing, but sailing out of OYC. Good times!!
