"Should have beat Carolina." If you want to do "should haves," we should have beaten Carolina too. We got an offensive pass interference call on our final drive on Carolina's 22 yard line. What would've been 1st and 10 at the 22 with a minute remaining, turned into 1st and 20 at the 42.

New England's defense is ranked 30th. They're vulnerable on one side of the ball. They compensate with a #1 offense. We both beat the Raiders, Bucs, Broncos, Falcons, and Jets (once). They beat NO and lost to KC. We beat KC and lost to NO. We both lost to Carolina. They squeaked out a win to HOU, we squeaked out a loss to CIN. This isn't the 2007 Pats.

So when other teams produce turnovers are they lucky too? Or when the Pats won the Super Bowl with a turnover. Lucky? When a team misses a FG and the other team wins. Lucky? Or a team gets a call that goes their way or a team gets a call that buries their chances. Lucky? The game is based on luck, but it's up to us to create opportunities as well. You're upset that the Bills are creating turnovers. I think the four decades of fandom is getting to you.

Renewed Hope for a Win Sunday.....
quinnearlysghost88 replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went back to look at that 2011 win to maybe see some type of blueprint from our approach. Nope. We picked Brady 4 times (never happening again), and he STILL threw for 4 TDs and 387 yards. What an anomaly of a game. Two of those INTs were red zone picks. That game could've went a completely different way. -
we have such an inferiority complex. go in and beat the Pats if you want to make the playoffs. they're not invincible, they're just a football team. you're home. you have weapons. beat them if you want to be successful. don't fall all over yourself complimenting them in the press this week. knock them in the mouth.

Bills miss Post Season and ruin draft status.

THIS is why I'm a fan. Hypothetically eliminating yourself from the playoffs with 5 games to go. That's the stuff! -

First year head coach has us at 6-5 tied for a wild card with what amounts to a rebuild season. Yeah, let's get him out of here. -
Best Case/Worst Case Scenario

my guess is that we get to 9-7, but we lose a tiebreaker. also we get the very verge of beating new england once and implode. -

the reactionaries already had their time. It resulted in 5 INTs. Let's maybe just roll with our current crew for the next five games. -
We are still a terrible team

This is pinnacle two bills drive right now. We've reached the apex of fandom. -
Once Brady's gone, the division will be up for grabs and we'll be able to fall backwards into the playoffs with underachieving teams a whole lot more. Us sneaking into the playoffs will become a possibility more and more in the future with a 5-5 November record. This whole idea of building correctly doesn't happen with the salary cap. Sure you may get a good QB in place, but do you think you'll be able to have a solid Oline, Dline, secondary, WR corp, RB and special teams unit all at once? It's not practical. Your best bet is to build a culture of expectations on performance, get a solid offensive and defensive scheme together and get lucky.

the national media will have moved on by tomorrow's games. no one cares that much about the Buffalo Bills.

"This is where the healing begins."

i love that there's always a need to bottom out or rebuild or plug long-term holes at certain positions while other teams make the playoffs with inferior squads or patchwork wr corps or first-year coaches/QBs. we're always waiting for that turnaround that never actually comes and it's always filled with excuses while every single other team in the NFL has made it to the playoffs with rotating casts, weaknesses, and difficult divisions. it's a disease in buffalo. it's a culture. -
Who in their right mind thinks handing off is going to net you 20+ yards every time? Shady got the bulk of his yards on 3 runs, and now you're making it out like every time we handed off it was going to be a home run. You would've criticized Dennison for predictably running the ball while behind if he kept handing off. It's a lose-lose.
-
The rationale I think Dennison was going for was that he wasn't going to take the ball out of his QBs hands. Peterman was clearly rattled, and they still wanted him to get comfortable throwing (that's why they dialed up what should've been an easy comeback route). It's easy to pan this decision in hindsight, but if he hits that comeback for 4 yards, it's just another play in the game. Dennison couldn't have possibly known that he would throw another INT, especially when a few of those weren't entirely on Peterman.

Dareus is killing it for the Jags
quinnearlysghost88 replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but he wasn't performing for us. What are we supposed to do with him? Also, he was $$$$$$$$$$. Also, the Saints look like hot garbage right now. I mean polar opposite of last week. -
At the Dolphins game..... This is horrid!
quinnearlysghost88 replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone watching GB game? Brett Hundley is Tyrod Taylor. Good legs that have to bail him out, hesitating on throws to wide open guys, bailing from the pocket quickly. -
Titans and Jags are fighting for 1st in the AFCS, and they all play each other down the stretch. They can manage to win the 4 out of 7 games to make them both at least 10-6. That leaves one spot for the other WC. At that point you're basically betting that either the Raiders or the Dolphins or the Ravens won't win 6 out of their last 7 games. The Ravens have the best shot, playing the: packers (no QB), texans, lions, colts, browns, bengals, steelers. But you're probably right, after looking at the standings, nine may take it. i wouldn't count on it though, this is the NFL, strange things happen.

New Orleans Scrubs at the end of the game....
quinnearlysghost88 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think by starting Peterman, you're in it for the long haul (i.e. rest of the season). You don't pull a rookie on his first start after the first half of his first ever game. No one wins there. You ride him out for the remainder of the year understanding that Tyrod wasn't going to get you to the playoffs either. If we happen to have a great game manager on our hands, and he finds ways to win ball games, awesome, if not, we're playoff-less again. You don't go back to Tyrod. That's not what this move is about. -
Looking at his highlights, you're right. He doesn't have a great deep ball. But what he lacks in that department he makes up for with his short passes which are on-target, with good speed, and put the runner in a position to gain YAC. That was not happening with Tyrod. His mid-range throws are pretty solid too.

New Orleans Scrubs at the end of the game....
quinnearlysghost88 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you think the coaching staff overlooked this? Like someone from the Bills staff is reading your post and printing it out and sprinting into the coaches office to tell him? Tyrod was forcing throws with a 3 to 4 man rush. Peterman was getting the ball out quickly and on target, regardless of who was playing, those are fundamentals that Tyrod hasn't displayed.
