  1. Everyone's to blame. Maybin's 3rd down PI led to a TD. Thomas' hold wiped out a 44-yard run. Those are game-changers.
  2. Honestly the best part about our schedule is getting to play them late. Let them get dinged up and beat up. Also, we're usually in a small season stride until they wreck us in Oct. I like that we will have our **** together by the time Dec rolls around. If you can't beat them then, maybe you don't belong in the playoffs in the first place.
  3. The other major positive I like is the undisciplined penalties. It's really odd seeing them on that team, but it's refreshing. Back to back roughing the QBs. It's frustration. They're not dominating.
  4. Why will they likely be rolling along? Why won't they be depleted because of a season's worth of injuries? And why is is that when they have a bad game that it's not because of their performance, but because they consciously 'took their foot off the gas'. Teams need to stop giving the Pats the right of way and start smacking them in the mouth. Blitzing Brady is the answer, but teams are afraid of getting picked apart in the secondary by quick throws. Just bring the pressure. This team is trending down.
  5. the 2-1 Bucs (who beat the Bears and Giants, woof), miss three field goals and are still in it on the last play of the game in NE's red zone. Then nfl.com throws up three articles: the Pats have turned a corner, The Patriots bounce back, etc. Please. This team has proven nothing. This is the least threatening they've been in a decade.

  7. This is definitely sexist, but (regardless of the sportswriter) something really bothers me when reporters force their way to become the story. I'm in Charlotte. She's written like three pieces about it now, her colleague wrote a story about it, she's all over twitter repeating it, walking through the steps of approaching Cam after the conference and walking away while telling him her name that he couldn't remember. Just report sports. All of these reporters get beat up by athletes. Your job is to report about inconsequential sports games, and the majority of the information you gain is platitudes that aren't even relevant.
  8. Dalton will have a Ryan Fitzpatrick performance ala last year. No sacks, quick throws. tj houshmandzadeh will have 200 all purpose yards.
  9. the nihilism and defeatism is deeply ingrained into Bills fans now. So much so that after a 3-1 start there's way less celebrating and way, way more "yes, but" and "we won, but" and "this isn't sustainable" It's like, how do you even enjoy anything anymore?
  10. a guy that has muscle memory exploding in certain directions with specific movements to counteract a rusher moving to his outside (and sometimes inside) with the goal of sealing off a left side block is going to have trouble flipping sides and being asked to change his habits, adjust to a rusher driving to his right side now. It's different foot and hand work and you're also working along side a different lineman. Speak of the devil: https://deadspin.com/how-smart-coaches-are-overcoming-the-nfls-offensive-iss-1818974095
  11. Have I missed what's happened to Washington? Where is he?
  12. If they can get behind 2-3 after Thursday, I'd be pretty happy. I couldn't tell you the last time we could potentially have two games on the Pats.
  13. i'm not holding out hope on downtown philly brown to do really anything.
  14. They don't care. Also, the Rams are at #16 with a 3-1 record having not moved. I'd rather not be ranked in the top 10. I remember those days and there being too much hype. Also there are a lot of people sticking up for the Bills in the ESPN comment section.
  15. Matthews wasn't really quotable, but i do like the offense talking to each other on the sidelines and setting the tone. Also, it's nice to see the offense invested in the defense's success.
  16. Chiefs losing. That's easy. Anytime an NFC team can beat an AFC, we win.
  17. Week 4 Bills records past 10 years: 3-1 2-2 2-2 2-2 2-2 2-2 3-1 0-4 1-3 4-0 1-3 No playoffs. After any of those starts. It's way too early to beat your chest.
  18. I know this is sort of hyperbolic, but really these are the games we look back on in Dec when we don't control our destiny anymore and say, if we'd only beat the Bengals we'd be in the driver's seat.
  19. He's 2-1. TWO. AND. ONE. "Watch them go deep into the playoffs" What? I got a 4-0 QB that I can sell you. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/E/EdwaTr01/gamelog/2008/
  20. With 1 for 17 yesterday, does it really even matter that he's healthy?
  21. I look at someone like the Broncos in 2015. Super Bowl Champion Broncos. Led by a stout defense, they had a few big wins, but 9 by a TD or less! It's sustainable to win close and keep winning. We've been experts at losing close games, now it's time to flip the script. Broncos 2015 won by 6 won by 7 won by 12 won by 3 won by 6 won by 3 won by 19 lost lost won by 2 won by 6 won by 14 lost lost won by 3 won by 7
  22. we can never have a win or a loss without a bunch of i-told-you-so garbage. can't we just enjoy this. you'll be eating crow in a week or two. why not just wait and see what happens after week 4.
  23. it's not the hottest take ever. But if he's 4-0 at this point, he'd be in consideration.
