  1. what does it say about the stat that there is a 3-5 and a 1-7 QB in the top five? Also--it should be noted that Alex Smith, Matthew Stafford, and Tom Brady have higher overall passer ratings than their 4th quarter ratings.
  2. This is more of a housekeeping note: the 'beer sliding, foaming blowing, chugging' emoji is gone. so unceremonious. how will i celebrate on this site?!
  3. i was watching a Bill Belicheck video yesterday (i'm a glutton for punishment), and it was just him mic'd up a couple years ago, and he's at practice talking to another coach and said 'when i was with the giants we practiced every single friday in pads. every friday.' and he was doing it with the Pats that day.
  4. This news and shutting Luck down. The AFC South just got way sadder. Why can't we be in that division?!
  5. We play Miami twice and they decided to trade away the only player who would be a factor in those games.
  6. i was reading someone's comments who had the same surgery (though he couldn't guess the severity of Luck's injury), he said he had it in April was golfing by early July and could definitely throw a football by August. Luck had his surgery in January. Something is drastically wrong.
  7. Let's rage quietly at our desks, offices, job sites, and work vehicles.
  8. i think that's only partially true. i don't think it's 'don't want to be here,' i think it's can't take the scrutiny or the responsibility. there are teams where players like that can find a home and can do no wrong, even if they're underperforming and taking plays off. we're just becoming a team that's holding others accountable instead of making excuses for stars. both of those types of teams exist in the NFL.
  9. he definitely wasn't wanted toward the end. he didn't buy into the culture. he was being held accountable and he couldn't live up to that. he's wanted by his new team, because he hasn't taken a snap yet. and who knows, maybe the Jags baby their stars and let them run over the coaching staff, so he'll love it there. either way, nothing to get mad about, he wasn't a fit.
  10. you know your once-in-a-lifetime fountain of youth Hall of Fame QB is retiring soon. there's no way he strikes gold twice, and if he tried to trot out Hoyer or whomever, and gets totally owned, it's really going to take some of the shine off of his legacy.
  11. That suit is immaculate and the fit is pro.
  12. Why do WE have an opinion at all? it's a backup QB. if you do have an opinion, it has nothing to do with sports.
  13. We've already seen Woods' limitations. Give me KB any day.
  14. Having lived in Charlotte for six years, Cam is the face of that franchise and of the city. And for all of the crap he gets from other fans/the sports media, he's also a great dude. He is going to retire with Carolina, no doubts.
  15. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. i know it's unrelated, but i didn't want to start a new thread: any news on Clay's progress?
  17. What? They're ranked 3rd in the NFL right now.
  18. What's the draft pick going to be with them at 5-2? They're not going to finish 5-11. They have tons of weapons. A loss tonight puts them at 5-3 and they'll still finish between 9-7 and 11-5. So picking like 15th or 19th. It's irrelevant. You want Broncos to lose. Also, someone HAS to win the West, why not the team that's ahead? You don't have to worry about the Broncos tie-breaker if they're 3 games back!
  19. No brainer: Chiefs. You want them to run away with the the West. You don't want a log jam hanging around for a wild card.
  20. why again will the turnovers dry up? if you play an aggressive style of defense where you go for strips and put helmets on the ball and pressure the QB and have a solid stable zone, turnovers are going to come, as they have. what's going to dry up about them?
  21. If they can keep winning without Clay, they're just going to wait until he's healthy again.
  22. the lake erie conservatives are all about diversity of opinion...
  23. I think james lofton was trying to hint at this when the ref picked up the flag after HE threw it. he said it wasn't a penalty AFTER the play resulted in an incomplete pass. Lofton was trying to understand how you throw the flag and then pick it up. it's not another ref stepping in and saying no, it was the same ref deciding to change his mind after the play's result.
