  1. Regardless if good or not it’s mind boggling receivers catching the ball with their chest.
  2. Not a fan of McD, but you can clearly see this is like a preseason game for them with evaluation the top priority. My big problem with management is the lack of filling needed positions with at least average players. I think they truly believe they can coach up these guys and it hasn’t worked. McDs a dinosaur.
  3. Crooms is terrible. We all know why he’s still on this team.
  4. It’s terrible isn’t it? To think most most of them majored in journalism. Chris Parker’s the worse. Don’t get me started on Paul Hamilton as well. On the topic of Sal. He’s very fortunate to have the job he does, in the sense of its what he dreamed of doing. He has Members from another board to thank, who used to push his basement pod casts and complain of there no being “one of them” on the radio. Sal started out fine but has become arrogant. Though, he remains the most enjoyable to listen to. Thats really not saying much. On a final note, most of those guys do not make much monetarily, until they hit the big time if ever.
  5. As the poster Billever76 stated, paraphrasing, when the defense only relies on a 4 man rush we get whipped on. Our front isn’t good enough to put a lot of pressure on by themselves. It boggles my mind as to why we didn’t throw blitzes at a rookie QB. We sat back, played zone and tried to do what? Frasier has done this often, for whatever reason. My guess is it’s McDermott Success has come when we throw blitz packages. Im tired of McDermott using games to test theories, “trying different things” Most of what he has tried has not worked. Stick to what we do best buddy.
  6. I don’t remember 1500 people but Norwood and Reich’s bible thumping groupies were there. Signing Christie was a great move, one year too late. Norwood was a terrible kicker and he made a pro bowl because of points scored. That guy had a difficult time making any kick on grass. Norwood is to Buffalo as Buckner is to Boston.
  7. Great. Money is money from 50 plus. When your coach keeps a revolving door of punters cycling through OBD somethings got to give. Kickers like consistency, such as having the same damn guy hold on field goals. New guy, New way to hold. What in the hell is McDermots fascination with the punting game? It’s hardly been that bad. It’s cost us points because of the new holders. They didn’t play their defense, McClappy was experimenting all day. They played mostly zone, four man rush with minimal dogs. They played a rookie QB and played zone. Unreal. They should have lined up and pinned their ears back. I just don’t understand their philosophy. McClappy has publicly stated his philosophy, that is to run and stop the run. The run wasn’t working so McClappys coach decides to continue to run. That’s MDs philosophy, that’s what he wants, that’s his offensive coordinator. He has the power to change that at anytime, he didn’t, therefore he wanted it.
  8. I actually liked McDermott, but he’s not improving at all, and his coaching decisions on personnel, both coaching and player is lacking. He hired Brian Dabol. Brian Dabol everyone. No worries about him taking His job. Ive soured on him after watching his team commit penalty after penalty, his attempts at experimentation of scheme in game, cramming bad players down our throats in the name of being a special teams player. He’s way too conservative, and tried to make something out of nothing with regards to the O line, TE and all the receiving corps. It’s partially his fault. No qualifying needed. He and Beane brought in below average players, thinking they had some magical formula making them serviceable. It’s not working. Enough with the cast off Carolina players. Enough with the BS excuse “ I have to look at the film” J.A. needs a real, experienced, innovative QB coach to help him along. The mandate from Pegula to become fiscally responsible doesn’t help either. Beane is taking it to the extreme. I can only hope they have a plan for all this and everyone improves, we actually attempt to buy or draft an O line, along with WRs. Maybe I can get back to being behind McDermot again, but I doubt it.
  9. Sals a very good reporter, been doing it a long time. Its not his job to cheerlead,it’s his job to tell it like he sees it. Todays readers are so sensitive. The truth is this team is not very good, the coaching has been terrible and player personnel moves are suspect. McClappy is a dinosaur, his thinking is behind the curve. His hires have been mediocre at best. Clapping on the sidelines as though he’s coaching a tyro football team isn’t getting the job done. He needs to hire someone who can work with Allen, someone with experience and a sharp offensive mind or we will be seeing our QB as the next big great game manager.
  10. Good coach in the wrong era. Our team has been devoid of offensive line talent and wide receiving talent for two seasons. This is on coach and his GM. We are penalized an abnormal amount of times on the O line, this equates to either stupid players or bad technique, therefore our o line coaching is suspect at best. Let’s talk about special teams. McClappy keeps players who play on special teams, to hell with talent. If you can attempt to play ST you make this team. You have mediocre players kept over much better players because of it. Our STs are terrible and have cost us games.look at a guy like Crooms. He has no business being in this league. So we cut OLeary, a guy who actually gets open and catches the ball for guys like Crooms and Logan Thomas, scrubs at best. Thats coaching, both personnell wise and technique wise. We are not ditching McClappy but they really need to change their philosophy.
  11. After Dark on Transit in Lockport. They were brawling in the parking lot, I was there watching. Two animals and good football players.
  12. Great title and you spelled “douche” correctly. Someone last week spelled it “doosh”
  13. Thats because of all of these rule changes that puts no clear cut examples into place. It’s subjective from crew to crew. Its the same as the previous football move catch rule that’s finally history. The refs are in a no win situation and they tend to side on the experienced marquee QBs in this case. They were disgustingly bad yesterday. Blame the league.
  14. The Miami Herald writer, Armando Salguero, was on WGR earlier this week proclaiming this. This game validates it. Its no surprise in this case.
  15. They did discuss it and agree. The Bills were running a play to not score or make a big gain. This was all planned. There was no need to take a knee.
  16. No way. The Patriots or Steelers will not claim him, no one will.
  17. This conversation is silly. Its all fantasy. There is no way on earth Alabama covers that spread, it is men against boys. A vast majority of those “Bama” players will crash and burn in the NFL,or not make it originally. Yes, I’ve watched a lot of those bama games because I’m interested as a Clemson Alumnus. They would have no chance against the Bills and would never cover.
  18. Sabres are 6-0 in their last six games. We can play this game all day. I just read on NHL.com that Detroit is the hottest team in the league right now. It’s relative to whatever time period you look at. The Rangers are hot, no doubt but most of us are Sabres fans, the Rangers and their fans can cram it up their *****.
  19. Our first color TV was in 1967 and the first show I’ve ever seen in color was Jeopardy. It was awesome. Everything was in technocolor. The first team I watched on color tv was the San Diego Chargers with their diamond shaped end zones. Being a huge football fan, I certainly remember the Heidi game vividly. I was a young man and I was pissed off they switched to some girly show. Sat there thinking they would switch back. The NFL never did that again. The Jets and Raiders were fun teams to watch. They both had really good offenses and the Raiders threw the ball deep often.
  20. Because they force a lot of three and outs. How many times have they trotted out on the field after our anemic offenses three and outs? This is a very good defense, not great but very good. The league has ratified rules that help offenses dramatically. If it remains status quo we will never see a dominant defense again. Another poor statistic that posters refer to is points per game,as though that is indicative of how the defense plays. There are turn overs for scores, short fields caused by turn overs, short fields caused by poor special teams play, judgemental penalties and bad penalties that all factor in. The Chicago game is a case in point. To have ppg go against a defense, by itself as a statistic is absurd.
  21. BS. We also play defense as much as any other team. We have to be close to the top in three and outs.
  22. Leon Spinx and Rick James ,beotch. Obviously, James was a Bills fan and surprisingly so was Leon. Sat next to them In the stands behind Bills bench, during the Chuck Knox era. Yes they were in the stands for the experience. Those were great season tickets. We bought each other beers. They had some big old body guards around them. Both had fur coats on. Star struck fans bothered the hell out of them. That’s one thing that doesn’t impress me, being in the public eye.
  23. Current athletes don’t hold a candle to the guys from back then. Same goes for all the other major sports. Guy gets a cut and he’s out for two weeks. Guys played with broken limbs every week. QB development today isn’t the same as yesteryear. There is an instant gratification mentality today and you see it on this board. Back in Fergies day a team drafted and stuck with that guy for the most part. It took years for those QBs to hone their craft. It would require the same today but fans and teams want it NOW.
  24. Don Shula, pre Marino had Johnny Unitas and Bob Griese. Those guys were really good QBs.
