  1. I thought that Jennings was a very good player when on the field. He was quite visible in the community and always spoke his mind and didn't give you player speak. He's also a pretty funny/ witty guy for a big ole tackle... I'll miss him but agreed with most that the price was not right to retain him.
  2. That doesn't make much sense to me as a replacement would generally be a younger or equivalent player, but I suppose it's possible. One thing unique (for a Patriot) that Law has going is that he has already made his money. The Pats have given the man some ridiculous jack already.
  3. If Law somehow came off of his cloud of financial expectations I would absolutely LOVE having him as a Bill. Talk about a playmaker. It doesn't get much better at his position. Obviously he's on the down side but still played at an extremely high level prior to the injury. I'll always remeber that in Moulds' hey day, Law was the ONLY cb that could shut him down essentially for most of a game.
  4. Including this little nugget: "just for the folks that insist the 9er's paid to much for jonas......."
  5. mmm hmmm. Implications are sometimes just as good as opinions.
  6. For an intelligent poster you sure like to beat your dead horses don't you? I thnk we're all clear on your stance at this point.
  7. Too much age and lack of speed at WR...
  8. I'm a little bothered that there wasn't much of an attempt (on the surface atleast) to keep the guy in a Bills uni, as he is a very, very good player. To me that offer wasn't much superior to ours, and I guess the home discount was a false promise after all. Good luck to Pat. Glad he's in the NFC.
  9. Did I miss the sarcasm smilie ? or do you really think this is "the coach" ?
  10. Agreed, along with an issue or 2 at QB at the time....
  11. That's very "big picture" of you.
  12. If Miami were wise, they would consider developing an NFL caliber offensive line before they entertain more pipe dreams (no pun intended ) of all star running backs.
  13. He backed off already. You must have me on ignore or something
  14. You beat me to the punch I'll resist the urge here to bring up Va's use of "reason" to discuss the 40 times of various NFL rb's ... Seriously though I think it could be an interesting experiment as well with Gore. We wouldn't be putting alot of risk into the pick if a lower rounder is used. Gore was indeed impressive before the injury bug hit him. At one point many expected him to surpass McGahee's production at the U. One thing I heard at one point but was not sure if it was true was that Gore and Willis didn't get along very well. I wonder if there is anything to that?....
  15. If you're talking about Zach like 4 years ago you might have the beginning of an argument. Fact is , TKO can shed blocks better due to his superior strength, he covers better, blitzes better, is faster and makes more plays than Zach (fumbles, INT's, Sacks, 3rd down stops). They are probably equals in tackling and the amount of study they put into the game. Honestly though, you'd have to see TKO at MLB to really compare the two.
  16. Takeo is twice the player that Zach is. Surely (shirley) you can't be serious...
  17. Very good point here. Of course the offer is going to start out low. And in all honesty, that's really not too shabby of an offer that was made to PW. It also shows patience and financial responsibility by TD. It's not quite the New England hardball approach but it shows some firmness. Players that come here most times get paid what they're worth.
  18. I agree with you there, but it's also my belief that it's agent posturing and won't be refelected in the final contact he ends up getting. If indeed he (they) stubbornly stay at the 5 mil figure, then we indeed should not re-sign PW.
  19. I remember the package. I only wish it had been used more often at the time, and sooner in their careers.
  20. Wrong. He played his role in the defense to perfection this past season. It's not up to the Bills organization to point out to each fan what a players role is on the team, so those that don't see it on their own at times may be confused by a player's apparent production. This is especially true with linemen on both sides of the ball. It's understandable too because most fans need some sort of statistical measuring stick like something said player does with the football to judge for themselves how he plays.
  21. Mike, I respect your opinions very much but I have to strongly disagree here. I don't see Sam double teamed on every play as you say. I see teams do variations of things against both of them. PW was given more of a plugger role in the defenseive scheme this year and "ate up" blockers very well. His role was not to penetrate the line nealry as much as the year before. Pat has played well beside both good players AND complete garbage during his tenure here. In 2003 he had a far superior year than Sam Adams had. While playing with big Ted, it was very infrequent that you'd find both of them on the field together. Ted came off on sure passing downs and that's where Pat had to make his name I do agree that he doesn't deserve "Elite" money but deserves fair market value.
