Very true and duly noted...

Surtain is a much better corner than many around here seem to credit him for. I think Nate's deal would only be for moderately more that Surtain, and that Nate is worth it. We need to get return on our time invested in Nate THIS YEAR, and that can only be done through a player (not going to happen), OR by Nate playing this season for the Bills. If you keep trading draftees after 3 seasons, you will never have a team that can compete for a championship, let alone playoffs.

Would you trade Clements and next year's
34-78-83 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, you're not the only one. It's only people who think all of our players should be pro bowl potential players. And that "average" players making low salaries are not worthy of being on the team. -
Reed was drafted while PP was still here, without knowing for sure at the time that PP would be leaving.

The #3 WR for the Bills is already on the team, and will work itself out in camp or pre-season. Reed and Aiken, while they both have flaws, are capable of filling that role.

Many thanks to you sir

A 5 on 5 pickup game after school one fall day in 1988 on my high school field... From my pop-warner days thru to high school I was always a bit undersized (understatement ), but was always considered the top tackler on the team (technique wise). This was something I was most proud of. I never tired of taking down bigger guys and watching the look on their faces as they found themselves on the ground. Well on this day we played pretty much with our normal crew, along with a couple stragglers from a neighboring town. One of them, we'll call him Craig, weighed in at about 260 while most of us were in the 150 range He was a dreidel shaped kid, with a huge shoulder span and tiny little legs... a regular bowling ball. He had played some organized ball as well and showed some skill as a straight-ahead runner, along with playing the line on defense. When on defense I was playing a safety or "rover" type position that day. It was always fun to try reading the eyes of the guy playing QB and get to measure up the intended receiver for a nice jarring hit, or maybe a pick. Well on this particular play they sent the bowling ball kid out in the flat for a quick screen play. There were really no blockers in front of him as he methodically rumbled down the right sideline stiff-arming one of our guys along the way. The only thing left in between he and the endzone was me as I angled over to meet him at about the 5 yard line.. Now any sane 150 lb kid at this point would have realized that this was merely a pick-up game and would have allowed the rumbling big guy an uncontested trip into the endzone. I was'nt having any of that though. I decided that this was the time I would show this big out-of-towner just how good I was and give him a close up view of the dirt. He had been running fairly upright all day, and I certainly wasn't going to get him down by hitting him high, so I got in position for a typical wrap/slide down/ and tighten tackle which surely would knock his top-heavy frame off balance and down him somewhere inside the 5. As I led toward him and lined up my left shoulder to meet his lower leg, suddenly he lowered himself to the point where his own shoulder was lined up to mine in a surprising display of balance! I then braced myself for the big collision that was inevitable at this point. Well that collision came and a "snap" could be heard as he split my collar bone like a wishbone on Thanksgiving! As I struggled for a moment on the ground I realized that I had indeed stopped him and downed him at @ the 2 yard line, but the price I think you will agree was far too great

Who in God's Name started this NC Rumor?
34-78-83 replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. It seems both absurd to me and highly unlikely that the Bills would see this as a viable option unless numerous day one picks were involved. Even with numerous picks, we would not see the return on investment for a good two or three years. -

I lke 'em. Although they do indeed look too much like the Falcon's Jerseys. -
Makes a whole lot more sense than a Clements trade.

East Coast Reporting More?!

Nate was picked with a higher draft choice than #25 in a better draft class and has panned out as a proven top flight CB. It would be ridiculous to not acquire more than just the #25 pick for him. "here's a pro bowl player for a 50/50 scratch off card to obtain a "good" player" -

Pleasant thought considering TO's mouth but he could easily trash a bump and run like yesterday's news. -
Not to step in here, but maybe it's because you have made many otherwise credible posts on this site and those other ridiculous statements were made by hit and run posters or trolls...

Updated ESPN Insider on Travis Henry

Sorry, not on a team that already has Lee Evans and Eric Moulds. That would be about the stupidest move we could possibly make with a hypothetical #9 pick. Same goes for WR Mike Williams. And you have no idea what Edwards is going to turn out to be... We know what Clements is as a player. -

I understand the fear of getting nothing in return and that is certainly legit. It sometimes sucks being on the outside and not knowing NC's intention, nor the Bills intentions... -

Lets trade everybody for future draft picks!!! YaY!!!!! We'll be the youngest team in the NFL but who cares because our fans won't be bored with the draft... Let Nate atleast finish his contract here as opposed to obtaining picks in one of the shittiest drafts in recent years. < Rant Off> -

Bill, Kelly is neither Kissing his ass, nor attacking those who do not "love him", nor is he being a Homer. Please display evidence of such..... Also there may have been a post or two, or a post(er) or two who ridiculously thought we could fetch a #1 for Trav. Those people, whomever they are represent the balance at the opposite end of the TWO posters who deem his value to be Nil. I'm still hopeful for 2nd round value, but I'll take 3rd and be happy with that. Anything less IMO would not be fair and TH will be kept. -

Would Losman be the number 1 pick this year?
34-78-83 replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually the question has been asked multiple times to various "experts" and media outlets and most of them that I have seen or read say that Losman would be graded higher than the other two guys on most NFL draft boards. As stated we don't know what Losman is going to turn out to be, but trying to go off of how many games his team Won or his stats on a very poor Tulane offense and compare him to guys in top notch programs surrounded by better players is foolish. -
Trading Nate a Good Idea?
34-78-83 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, well most of that makes sense to me as a fair opinion, although I would not see choosing WR Mike Williams in the draft as the likely move the Bills would make with the Skins 1st. Why do you see us putting ourselves again into a situation where we have multiple "number 1 type" Wr's? That is not a situation that I see this organization putting themselves into again.
