After reading about the severe thigh bruise he suffered in the SB and the treatment required as a result, I can understand why that was the straw that broke the retirement camel’s back. I’ve never heard of having to drain a liter of blood from a thigh bruise before. I’m grateful that Tre White’s thigh bruise wasn’t serious.

As impressive as he may have been, Richardson’s athleticism and explosion just didn’t compare to Oliver’s and Donald’s. Richardson is in select company for his size though.

The comparisons to Donald coming out were inevitable when Oliver blew up his pro day and exhibited the kind of athleticism at that size that nobody else but Donald himself did previously. Unfair, but inevitable.

He’s been stymied on the pass rush the last two games after doing well in game one. On all his run snaps, he’s lost leverage twice in the three games. Twice. In that regard, he’s been anything but “bested, outperformed, or overmatched.” Maybe we’re not watching the same games.

How do you define “handled?”

This got me thinking about how AD did in his first three preseason games as a rookie. Well, he had a grand total of 2 tackles through three preseason games. No sacks, no TFLs. So much for the predictive properties of a rookie defensive tackles’s preseason performance.

By my count he’s lost leverage twice on all his snaps the entire preseason. He has been stymied on several pass rush attempts, but I’ll worry more if that’s still the case when they’re scheming their pass rush with blitzes, stunts, etc. Given his athleticism, there is no reason to think he won’t be as effective as KW was running games with Hughes. No no concerns at this point. Quite the contrary in fact.

That is a legit concern. And we've seen players to into protection mode in their FA years (I'm looking at you, Stephon Gilmore).

I'd say he mailed it in here. And then quit in Miami.
