McD is asked every day about Morse and every day McD says Morse is still in concussion protocol. What else, exactly, does he need to say so as not to appear “mum” about it? What info are you looking to get out of McD regarding Morse’s concussion?

It’s nice to see indeed. Tailor made for Shady, I’d say. I’m also hoping that their ability to get out and block in space bodes well for their ability to block on screens. We’ve been a crap screen team for several years now.

I like Baldy, but I think he mailed it in on that point. Never mind that he never got around to critiquing the play where Oliver drove Nelson into Brissett. At best, BEST, Nelson played Oliver to a draw in that game. Personally, I think Oliver got the better of it overall considering the double team help Nelson had on a couple plays. That said, it was just a preseason game where opponents aren’t studying each other all week to prepare. But Oliver served one hell of a notice, regardless.

In one of the plays illustrated above, Nelson got his hands on him alright. In the form of two fistfuls of Oliver’s jersey. No DLman is EVER gonna defeat that vs. Nelson. There was a time an OLman couldn’t extend his arms and put his hands on the OLman at all. Rules were relaxed to allow OL to place hands on the opponent, but not grab. That’s been further relaxed to allow OLmen to grab as much of the front of the jersey as possible. Makes it almost unfair vs. a player as good as Nelson.

No way in hell. But we don’t need to worry about that. Josh Allen is cut from an entirely different cloth.

AB is a loser. End of story.

You can compare completion percentages relative to their peers, however. That’s really not the point though. For whatever reason, 60% has become some sort of barometer and it’s completely arbitrary. Additionally, Allen throws the most low percentage passes in the league. And for good reason; because he can and teams have to respect that. Outstanding!

The similarities to Elway are uncanny, right down to the completion percentage issue. But I don’t think it’s gonna take Allen 10 seasons, like it did Elway, before he hits that magical 60% threshold that’s been arbitrarily applied as a barometer of how good a QB is.

Thank you for this. Allen moved the chains. He was a little amped his first series and then flat out had a very good second series. He was trending in a positive direction before being removed for the night. Hard to see how anyone who watched the game could say he had a poor outing.

Nice. Those counter treys remind me of our golden age. EDIT: on second viewing, I see it wasn’t a counter trey. But those pulling linemen are reminiscent of our golden age none the less.

In terms of game planning and schemes I couldn’t agree more; it’s just not revealing at all in that regard. But the preseason shows you one thing definitively: who is beating the man lined up across from him. And there is value in that.

That is last year's 1st Team All Pro guard and Oliver gave him all he could handle on several plays. Nice.
