  1. I gotta believe there’s no deal with McBeane without assurances from Clowney beforehand. Without those assurances, I assume the entire point is moot.
  2. I’m not advocating the trade one way or the other, only arguing the premise that if Clowney indeed makes your D elite and you’d be willing to draft a guy in the first who could do the same anyway, then spending that first on Clowney now makes just as much sense. That said, I’m with you on this. Swing for the fences. Fortune favors the bold, after all.
  3. I wonder if McBeane feel the same way. I suspect if they knew that their first round pick would give them an opportunity to have a rare elite defense, they’d gladly make that pick. What’s the difference between making that pick now vs. later?
  4. Yes, ER was the worst non quarterback quarterback in history. He’d probably agree with that, too.
  5. Good point about the knee jerk reaction. I can understand that. I hope he gets the chance to say goodbye to a packed stadium and the fans can send him off to a chorus of cheers.
  6. If we lost four QBs to injury this season and had to press Zay Jones into service as a result, would he also be a credible QB in your eyes? You simply shouldn’t have included Rutkowski on your QB list. He was never a QB as a pro; never drafted as one (not drafted at all, actually), never developed as one, never even took a snap as one until they asked him to volunteer as a disaster QB.
  7. The right move. And the classy move. Well done Irsay. Any knuckle dragging fans who booed him off the field need to get a clue.
  8. Ed Rutkowski? Really? He was the fifth “disaster” QB in ‘68 when our first four QBs were lost to injuries. He was never even listed as a QB for the Bills until that disastrous ‘68 season. He hadn’t played QB since his sophomore year at ND. He was mostly a receiver, RB, and return specialist for the Bills. He even played at DB when asked. To use Rutkowski as an example to bolster your argument that we’ve had worse QBs than Peterman just isn’t credible.
  9. I fully expect the Colts to finish with the worst record overall in 2020 and land Trevor Lawrence in the ‘21 draft. It’s what they do.
  10. Too bad it got called back.
  11. Is Josh Allen ALLOWED to throw a bad pass?
  12. Nobody is sugarcoating anything.
  13. We isolated him on every snap he was on the field for. He looked like he belonged on every one of them.
  14. And how did Allen respond after that one horrific play? Because that’s the true measure, imo; how a QB responds to adversity, which is what the game, especially the QB position, is all about. Yes, we don’t want to see Allen make unwise plays. But I want to see him respond like he did every single time.
  15. C'mon now. You're just trying to "validate" Josh Allen's poor play.
  16. That was a great play by the DE who stayed home and didn't bite on the fake. Murray's gonna learn NFL DEs are a little more athletic than college DEs, too. I assume Klingsbury already knows this?
  17. Yep. Fool's gold. And not something Minny can readily move away from. On another note, I think Murray looks like he belongs, at least as a thrower. But there's a world of difference between being a thrower and being a quarterback, so I need to see a ton more before I'm ready to say he's good or not.
  18. Validating poor play? Perhaps you don't appreciate the difference between "validating" and "putting into perspective", which is what comparisons to other QBs poor play is meant to do. Or is Allen's poor play "worse" than anyone else's poor play?
  19. I am a repository of useless information. You had a good reason to be distracted that year.
  20. The NFL had two bye weeks in 1993.
  21. A new “fill in the blank” game. I think Massengill might have a problem with it.
