Im not sure what side of the commentary I’m on here. Is it a sadder commentary about last year’s OL that two of the starters were gonna be cut or is it a happier commentary on the quality of players Beane brought in to replace them? I choose to believe the latter.

Is that directive actually in their mission statements? My understanding is that the Webb mission is designed to explore the origins of the universe, which isn’t necessarily related to finding alien life. Finding alien life would be cool, don’t get me wrong, but I think that has to happen within the confines of the primary mission goals.

That’s true. Fans don’t owe players a damned thing. It’s a choice. Personally, I would have chosen to express gratitude for the success he brought my favorite team, especially his first three years, before injuries impacted his performance and availability. No, he didn’t get them to the promised land, but he got them to the dance every year while paying a high physical price in doing so.
