  1. I don’t see a single word in Eichel’s response to the reporter’s question to suggest there’s even the slightest hint of a problem between him and Risto. Everybody on the team heard Risto’s remarks at the end of the season. Pretty easy to see where he was coming from. So it’s reasonable for his teammates to demand he’s all in when he reports to camp. I suspect Risto knows this as well.
  2. Right, so if Beane is dumb for pursuing AB, what would that make BB for actually signing him? Simple question. No larger comparison to the Patriots at all; just a comparison between two GMs pursuing the same player. It’s intellectually dishonest to conflate a single comparative element with the entirety of both franchises.
  3. A reference to David and Derek, perhaps?
  4. Actually, if BB does end up signing him, won’t that make him even dumber than Beane? Did you happen to catch the Albert Breer tweet up thread about how the Bills and “every other team” interested in AB at the time walked away when it was learned he wanted to tear up his existing deal? That only the Raiders agreed? If Beane is as dumb as you keep insisting he is, then he’s in some good company around the league, apparently.
  5. But as I said earlier, won’t it be fun to hear @C.Biscuit97 say that Belichick is just as stupid as Beane?
  6. I can’t give you too much credit here. I mean conditions on the ground dramatically changed overnight. They did a complete 180 going from accepting his apology and declaring he was gonna play Monday to having had enough and cutting him.
  7. He will just have to get in line behind AB’s trainer and chef.
  8. Agree about Eichel’s comments regarding Risto. And he’s absolutely right. Risto is either all in or he shouldn’t be there. I was more impressed by Eichel’s comments about ROR. They should dispel once and for all that they didn’t get along and there was a rift in the room as a result.
  9. Knowing how fickle the HOF voters are? No. At least for a long long time.
  10. Gonna be funny when DR sues AB for theft of services.
  11. I was referring to the Hard Knocks circus. And I bet he won’t be long for the Raiders circus, either.
  12. There’s a learning curve for sure. But I don’t think Mayock will be there long enough to flatten it out. I suspect he wasn’t fully on board with AB from the start after what AB pulled in Pittsburgh because I think as a former player and old school graduate, he has too much respect for the game and AB was the antithesis of that last season.
  13. Mayock wasn’t around for Mack or Cooper. That’s all on Gruden.
  14. Given his almost none existent participation in the production, when GMs have been main story lines every year, I fully believe this. And good on him for taking that stance. Mayock doesn’t like circuses.
  15. As long as he get the help. I don’t think anyone is disagreeing that his actions have brought it all upon himself.
  16. When you say noone, you mean this guy?
  17. Self destructive behavior can be destructive to innocent people as well. He’s got little kids, for instance. AB is waving a sign, shooting up flares, and sounding alarms. Ignoring it may be tragic. Anyway, I’m done arguing the merits as to why people should be helped. It’s self evident to me.
  18. It’s not a question of sympathy.
  19. It will be fun to see CBiscuit admit that Belichick is just as stupid as Beane, though.
  20. I hope it’s as simple as that. But this self destructive path to get there is concerning.
  21. I sincerely hope he gets the help he is crying out for. He’s in crisis.
  22. Thus my use of the word “sometimes.” I agree entirely with your larger point. That was a fugly game from an execution standpoint. Which stands to reason when you haven’t seen live action since January. I look for more of it tomorrow and Monday.
  23. The fine itself isn’t attached to losing the guarantee. Although the cited reason for the fine could serve as a basis to void his guarantee as well. The Raiders could simply fine him for “conduct detrimental”, which they apparently did, or void his guarantee. Or both. I’ve only read that they’ve fined him for his conduct at this point. But they’ve certainly established their foundation for voiding his guarantee.
  24. Blown assignments will happen for sure. But when a great LT like Bakhtiari gets bull-rushed into Rogers like he did by Floyd Thursday night, you just have to chalk it up to a great play by a good player. Sometimes we just can’t scheme a way out of getting our asses handed to us.
