Is there any defensive player you'd be happy with at pick 27?
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I feel the same about Hyatt after wanting him at first. I love the speed, but question the rest of his WR skills. Flowers I’ve come around to, but still don’t see him as a 1st rd pick. JSN or Addison would be great fits. -
Diggs unfollows Buffalo, follows Cowgirls 🤷♂️
NewEra replied to DaggersEOD's topic in The Stadium Wall
What is happening: we traded for an elite WR that has an elite chip on his shoulder. A WR tends to react differently than most. A WR that has been outspoken in the past and hasn’t stopped since. A WR that has made it known that he won’t accept losing. we knew all of this. Nothing has changed. This is the guy that we traded for. A guy that has been a tremendous teammate, friend and leader. A guy that transformed our locker room and helped transform the team from playoff caliber to championship caliber. A guy that has had trouble dealing with his emotions in moments of defeat and pain. A guy that we know has had trouble dealing with his emotions in moments of defeat and pain. He did something that many expected him to do because that’s what he does….. it’s nothing new. It’s part of who he is. I’ve known this and accepted that that’s who Diggs is. That’s him. That’s always been him. Maybe you’re finally coming around to accepting the fact that he isn’t the perfect leader. Or maybe you already knew that but just wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t chime in with your ever present tint. He’s him. Always has been. Always will be. -
Considering the draft class- if Johnston, jsn and addison are all gone, Bijan would probably make the most impact. If we draft an OL, odds are, he won’t be great and will only be a slight upgrade. If we could draft an OL @27 and have him turn into an immediate top 10 at his position, I’d welcome it, but I don’t think it’ll happen. problem is- bijan will be long gone by 27

You put the same colored tint on every post you make. They’re all the same. You can pretend that you’re making sense but we all know this is just what you do in every post you make. -

Have you looked into the draft prospects yet? Do you have any particular guys that you want or don’t want in round one or 2? -

Drafting Has Been A Problem For Decades
NewEra replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably because we draft too many RBs 🤣 -
I think most scouts would take flowers over Mckenzie. Professional and couch. The problem is what we’ve seen what Mckenzie does do. I’m a proud member of the Lil dirty fan club but he had a chance and failed. if your point is that Zay isn’t any good, you’re entitled. I’m def worried about his physical size going up against nfl sized corners, but he’s shown that he can go snag himself contested some catches. If I draft him it’s because I think he can get open, rac and score TDs…. but not for his hands.

Any mocks that has us taking Mason Rudolph

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
NewEra replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would love to make that happen. I wonder what he’d cost. 2 years left + his 5th year option. I’d do it for a 4th 💯 -

Per Shefty - Bills “expected to lose” Poyer and Edmunds

Like Mixon said, they ain’t the ravens. He wasn’t wrong -
if Beane and McDermott felt the same way about Dorsey as you. He wouldn’t be our OC. I assure you that having Ken Dorsey as our OC wont keep them from trying new things. It’s really a strange thought tbh. McD: I’d really like to be able to control the ball more. I think implementing 12 personnel could keep the opposition off balance and force them to play us more in the box….which would open up the offense. Beane: makes sense- I’d really like to get my hand on one of the top 3 WRs as I think there’s a big drop off after them, with the next 10 WRs being closely graded. I have a first rd grade on Kincaid and Meyer. We could go best playmaker available rd 1, then go OL/WR. If the top TEs are gone, we can grab another TE later as it’s one of the best TE classes in recent memory McD- yeah I really like some of these tight ends. Do you think Dorsey can make 12 personnel work? Beane McD:
-
It’s definitely a need, but this class is pretty deep @ pass rusher. I wouldn’t be shocked if we took one in rd 1 but think there’s some solid value in rd 4-5
-
I think Downs is slot only while Flowers can play both and is faster. I’ve seen Tyler Lockett comps for Flowers while I think a better comp would be TY Hilton. Count me in as someone that would like to add another solid TE and play more 12 personnel (or maybe morris can bulk and improve as a blocker). If we can force teams to play us closer to the line of scrimmage, our entire offense will open up. That said- I think flowers has more value to a team that will play some 12 personnel while Downs would be on the bench. I’m not against passing on Flowers if he’s there. Any WR his size comes with some risks. I’ll be furious if we pass on addison, Johnston or jsn. I’ll trust @Kirby Jackson when he says jsn can flex outside. He and Diggs would give defenses headaches

Defensive Coordinator Candidates…whose worth a look?
NewEra replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just hire Curtis Modkins and call it a day -
But he doesn’t run routes and have hands like flowers. I think the comparison to Hyatt is legit. Neither run routes other than go routes crosses and hitches.
-
Yeah I suppose, but they could just sign him as a FA and get a pick for Henry. Seems like a sideways move with very little benefit. I am and always have been a huge Ed Oliver supporter and had high hopes for him. I just don’t think he has what it takes to be a great DT- I think he would’ve become that guy by now. But you’re right, maybe the titans think he and Simmons could be great together. I just think I’d want at least a 4th rd pick for him. Potential starter with a 4 year contract making a mill a year.
-
I agree, we’d be better in 2023 with Henry. Only thing is, why would the titans make that trade? They get nothing but a 1 year rental DT. I would think that if the titans are going to trade him, they’d want at least one draft pick higher than rd 5.

Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
NewEra replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that’s 💯 Mcdermotts style. He really cares about people. He wants Leslie to coach again. He thought he should’ve been a HC. Saying that he fired Frazier or that he was stripping him of play calling duties accomplishes nothing. Telling a white lie out of respect for his friend of 20+ years (which trumps being a “grown man” all day, every day) doesn’t seem too far fetched to me, especially considering the man Mcdermott is. -
Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
NewEra replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Leslie is his close friend. Why would he tell the world that he fired his close friend when he can just say it was Leslie’s decision to step away. And it very well may have been his decision…. Very plausible scenario- McD tells Frazier that he wants to make changes to the D while taking over defensive play calling, but he would like to retain him as DC. Frazier doesn’t like it and decides to leave. Now, that’s not necessarily “firing” Frazier, but taking away power is a demotion. -
IF the Bills did trade down, Who would you like?
NewEra replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, it was a bad joke. That’s on me 😉 -
This is an exaggeration based on Browns early season poor play. He was bad to start the year but played very well down the stretch and in the playoffs. Both tackles (especially Wylie) played the games of their lives in the Super Bowl. The “worst starting pair” in the nfl were a huge reason that your boys won the game and held Philly to zero sacks
-
I live in Vegas- watch every game- been to training camp….. I’m just not impressed. I don’t think he’s capable of winning a Super Bowl. I think he’s good enough to stay qb of a team just hoping to make the playoffs. I just don’t hold him in very high regard. I did when he was young as I thought he could improve. I think he’s reached his peak and his peak is just above average.
