  1. Like SJBF said, he reminds me a bit of Trent, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Trent had tools, just not the brain/guts. I think he's worth a late first or early second.
  2. Lol...I hope the Cowboys hire this guy. He submarined USC's season (to my delight I should add).
  3. Involuntary eye-blinking/twitching can be caused by stress or exhaustion and excessive caffeine and/or alcohol consumption. Dude could just be exhausted and it's manifesting itself in the blinking. I know because I've had this crazy eyelid twitch thing going on for about two weeks now!
  4. Lol...we get one of these Rivers threads every week it seems. I live in San Diego. If you like Ryan Fitzpatrick, then you'll love Phillip Rivers. Fitzpatrick went 0-5 in 4th quarter comeback situations. Guess who's the only guy to go 0-6?
  5. I saw the Baylor kid in person and he looked like a nice late round or UDFA prospect. Good decision-making skills, accurate ball and fairly mobile.
  6. I like this guy a lot. Unfortunately, there's no way Buffalo ends up with a guy this good.
  7. I can't believe we could have had wilson instead of graham. Unbelievable.
  8. Awesome! Guarantees us the opportunity to watch them extend the playoff-less streak to 19 years!
  9. Is Hank Bullough still alive? Seriously, David Shaw would be number 1 on my list as a GM.
  10. carol is a grade A d%ckead. Not that everyone in the world didn't know that already. He pulled that kind o chit all the time at USC.
  11. Wrong. It does matter. And there's something called the long term view and strategic planning. If you are a long term view fan than it makes sense to hope your team loses out once they've been eliminated from the playoffs, so you can give yourself the best shot of improving your team in the offseason and ensuring greater success (i.e. "more winning") in the future. Long term view fans are likely educated and successful, or at least currently on the journey to achieving these things. Short term view fans want to win every game possible, regardless of future repercussions. They lack the ability to delay gratification for a greater future prize. They are likely less educated, less financially successful, and unhealthy/obese.
  12. "Let Down" - Radiohead "The emptiest of feelings, Disappointed people, clinging on to bottles, And when it comes it's so, so, disappointing. Let down and hanging around, Crushed like a bug in the ground. Let down and hanging around."
  13. From a pure talent standpoint we are much better. It's not reflected in our record because our coaching sucks, but you can see it in the way we are able to hang and compete physically in almost every game (save the 49ers debacle). If we had a solid head coach/DC and a QB with some poise and/or killer instinct we'd likely be sitting at 9-4 right now. It's too bad Ralph is a lame duck owner that nobody wants to work for, because we have the talent on hand to attract a decent coaching staff.
  14. I like it. It should drive up fan interest and ticket sales for the late season games. We'd have a ton more "meaningful" games during that last 2-3 weeks than we currently have. The problem with hockey and basketball (and baseball) is that their seasons' are way too long to begin with, then they tag on the added annoyance of best of 7 (or 5) series and it becomes one long slog. This is just stupid. You'd still have to be in the top half of the league to get in. And as Bills fans, we know that isn't all that easy.
  15. Thank you! I live in San Diego and can attest to the fact that this guy is Fitz without the mobility. Listen to sports radio here and you'd swear you were in Buffalo. "No arm. Underthrows receivers. Turnover machine. Unclutch. Game ending picks., etc." If you really like Fitz, but only wished he were more frequently sacked and lost more fumbles, then you'd absolutely love Rivers.
  16. Rivers sucks and is past his prime. It's not just his o-line, there is something wrong with him physically and he can no longer make all the throws. And over the past three seasons, he's one of the least clutch QBs I've ever seen. At best, we'd be looking at a late career Bledsoe kind of return on an investment in Rivers. I'd rather draft a young QB in the 2nd or 3rd round (you know, the Kaepernick, Dalton, Wilson-types we keep passing on) and letting them develop for a year, than set ourselves back for 3-4 years with Rivers.
  17. I could get behind a Perry Fewell hire. There was just no way we could have hired him three years ago. Fans would have cried bloody murder if we had hired a member of Jauron's staff.
  18. I'm a UCLA guy and watch pretty much every Pac-12 game. David Shaw is the real deal. His schemes are far better suited than Kelly's for the pro game. He's the next Harbaugh, imo.r.
  19. Look at Luck's numbers yesterday - he sucked - and he still got a win. The difference is coaching. Fitz pretty much has to play a perfect game for us to win. Look around the rest of the NFL and you'll find plenty of pedestrian QB performances that result in victories. I'm not arguing that we can't do better than Fitz, but he's good enough to win with if we had a solid head coach and a decent receiving corp. And for all those who try to make the argument that Chan "made" Fitz and that he could turn any QB into a serviceable player, please watch the Trent Edwards' quarterbacked games from 2010. We made something like 150+ yard improvement per game when Fitz took over. That's not Chan, that's Fitz.
  20. I like Nix and the talent he's assembled. I now believe this is on Gailey. He's giving away winnable games with his absurd playcalling and time management decisions. This team should be no worse than 7-6 with competent coaching. Fire Gailey, hire David Shaw and we are a playoff team in 2013 (even with Fitz).
  21. honestly, we are a much better team. I think our struggles are more mental than anything else. We can't seem to make that one play to close out a game when we need it.
  22. "Disaster" written all over it? Hate to break it to you, but there's no such thing as a disastrous loss when you're 4-7. The disaster is being 4-7 in the first place.
  23. Yes. 8-8 would be a good year, and be a sign of positive progress made by Chan (4-12, 6-10, 8-8). I haven't been thrilled with Chan's playcalling of late, but barring a complete collapse I think he deserves at least one more year. Also remember, turnarounds do not happen overnight. Just look at Jeff Fisher - I think it took him five years to break .500 with the Titans.
  24. The o-line is young, already solid, and will only get better. We have deficiencies in three areas - coaching, linebacking, and quarterbacking. If we can shore up two of those three areas in the offseason we will be a playoff team.
  25. I feel you, buddy, but it's just a bunch of overpaid lunkheads playing a child's game after all. Don't let it get to you. Just enjoy it for what it is - a three hour escape from the grind.
