Josh Allen the most blitzed QB in the NFL
TheBrownBear replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. So it appears that we have been pretty good picking up blitzes, which really comes down to Josh seeing it better than guys like Jones or Wentz at the LOS, solid communication by the guys up front, and good work from our backs when needed. -
He's slow as dirt, so he'd fit in well with our RB group.

The Super Bowl Halftime Performer Is ...

Weeknd is pretty sick. But his non-radio music is very risque for a Super Bowl halftime show. -
What would it take for you to trade Josh?
TheBrownBear replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe Mahomes, but I'd view that as a wash with Josh's current trajectory. In addition to his once in a generation physical skills, Josh has special leadership skills that aren't easily replaced. I'd possibly consider a trade that would net us Trevor Lawrence and 3 additional first round picks. -
Matt Hasselbeck on QB “intangibles” and Josh...
TheBrownBear replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fell in love with Josh last year and felt pretty strongly that he'd be the guy to lead this team for the next decade. I didn't think he'd get this good, this fast, but he's so smart, so strong, so physically gifted and has so much natural charisma/leadership ability, I figured it would just be a matter of time before he cemented himself as a top-10 QB in the league. -
Falcons waive Takk McKinley (claimed by Raiders)

His issues have been injuries more than anything else. This would be a shrewd signing by Beane, imo. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
TheBrownBear replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm...maybe there's something to this thread. Lamar and Ravens with 55 first half yards. -
He sucks. Aaron Maybin II.

Ok This Dolphins talk is getting out of hand.

Miami got outgained by 350 yards. That win was the epitome of a fluke. Their win against the Jets was against Joe Flacco. -
Dolphins have 28 points despite gaining only 68 yards at 2.7 ypp.

Falcons listening to offers on Takk McKinley
TheBrownBear replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I called this a couple of weeks ago. He's young and could be had for cheap. Maybe find our next Jerry Hughes. -
They are both great. Belichick's greatness initially provided the system that allowed Brady to grow and become one of the all-time greats. At some point, and aided by the changing rules to protect the QB position, Brady's "greatness" caught up to and surpassed Belichick's "greatness". In today's NFL, great QB play is far more important than great coaching.

Gameday Thread Week 7 2nd Half Bills @ Jets

Nice to see Bass building some confidence. McD letting him kick that 53 yarder was key. -
The Official Bring Fitzpatrick Home Thread
TheBrownBear replied to BillsFan692's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's called catharsis. He didn't criticize anyone. Better to flush it all out now, so he can move on without simmering resentment. Fitz is a solid guy. He'll be a good mentor and backup moving forward. -
It's so annoying seeing everyone fight the hypo...lol. RWC clearly laid out the parameters by saying that we win the game!!! Anyways, I think the pessimists on this board would still be ranting about the defense, conservative coaching and the run game sucking. Optimists would say something like "the sign of an elite team is winning games they had no business winning". I'd just be happy they found a way to squeak out a win against the SB champs.
-
Smart move. Fitz isn't leading any team to the promised land, so get your highly touted rookie out there in this current, more controlled, gameday environment without fan pressure/noise to deal with. Also, you can keep him upright now since the league is allowing offensive linemen to tackle defensive players without any repercussion.

People need to check themselves
TheBrownBear replied to Watkins90's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody with half a brain wants to see anyone fired at this point. It's just blowing off steam. But there is concern. I was willing to give the entire team a pass for last week given the injuries and strange circumstances leading up to the game. This week, though, they seemed clearly outclassed in every respect. Yes, the Chiefs are a damn good team and the reigning champs, but they shouldn't be able to dominate a legitimate playoff team on the road like they did. The way we played (and coached), we weren't beating many teams tonight (outside of the absolute dregs like the NJ teams). -
What a gutless gameplan vs the Chiefs
TheBrownBear replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's definitely taken a step back the past two weeks, but he's improved every year so far. He was definitely fooled by the looks he's seen these past two games, but he's too smart, tough and talented not to figure it out. I still believe in him long-term, but it appears there are still going to be some growing pains throughout this season. -

We are still in the driver's seat for the division. The Pats look pretty horrid. I watched their game yesterday and they are nothing to fear. Not to say they won't kick the snot out of us head-to-head, but they are going to bank a lot of losses this year regardless. Crazy as it sounds, the Dolphins are back in play for the division and look like the best of the bunch at the moment. Frazier/McD are coaching as if we have an elite front four. We don't. We need to bring pressure like the Chiefs did the entire first half. It's got to be frustrating for the defense, since the coaching is doing them no favors.
