In the “name your breakout player” thread a month or so back I named Cook. I think he’s going to be a beast. I also think Elam will quiet his detractors; he was already showing signs of “getting it” at the end of the year.

I believe you two gentlemen have succinctly summed up @Einstein's presence in this forum.

There are so many variables involved in reaching/winning a Super Bowl: talent, coaching, injuries, and plain old luck. A good/great coach is one who has his team perennially in the mix to compete for a championship. The "how many years to reach a Super Bowl" analysis is ridiculous. By any measure McD is a good/great coach. As an NFL fan, all you can realistically hope for is that your team is consistently "in the mix" to compete for a championship. We have that. I don't know what @Einstein's purpose is other than to be a self-aggrandizing blowhard on a fan football forum.

Check out the Ryan O’Halloran article in the Buffalo News this morning. He pontificates about the timing of the extensions and what to expect as a fan. I think it makes a lot of sense and would be happy if that’s how things worked out.

I don’t know how much they will drop…there are a TON of Bills fans who want to go to this game and are making a vacation out of it. I think it’s a “bite the bullet” type of situation unless you are a real risk taker and wait until literally the last second — which is fine for a local, but not those who are traveling to the event. Last year I thought the price of the Bills/Rams tickets would drop as we got closer to the opener, and that never really happened.

Yeah, that’s the benefit of only shopping for two… 😉

I don’t have the stomach to wait it out when it’s something I really want to see. I think I got a little bit of a better deal than you did but it was still a kick in the wallet. Looking forward to the premium area amenities for sure, though. Appears to be an awesome venue.

I can get behind this sort of analysis except for the bolded...last season the team dealt with unprecedented challenges and still went 14-4. We just remember that last game and think they stunk all year. Remember how they shot out of the gate? Every team has up-and-down moments in a season...and this year will be no different.

I guess I have a bit of a problem with the "not good enough" part. The Bills are now a perennial contender -- isn't that all anyone can realistically hope for in this league? If you are going to say that only a Super Bowl victory defines success, I guess that's one perspective...I just don't look at it that way.

It really is just about unbearable. You’d think we were still in the drought. Some people are just miserable, or are trying to make others miserable. And no, I’m not talking about legitimate debate over the roster, whether the WR corps is good enough or if the right moves were made to shore up the OL. It’s the personal attacks on McDermott, the whining over national pundits, and the presumptions made by a gaggle of “hot pocket” reactionaries who read one tweet and think they know the entire story. At least we’re only a month away from camp.

I find it extremely hard to believe the Caps will draw 10k to a preseason game unless the tickets are free.

Do people even watch preseason hockey? This is hardly a big deal...
