Is the 2.5 TDs per game acceptable?

Bills will probably be #3 or #2 seed if they win out
eball replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
False narrative. The Bills sustained a few self-inflicted wounds last night but got the job done when needed, which is what good teams do. The defense gave up one touchdown on a short field all night. How many times during the drought did the Bills put forth an effort like the Chargers did last night only to come up short? Everybody looking for style points and blowout wins to make themselves feel good should take a step back. The Bills are exactly what we thought they were — a very good team that will be a nightmare for anyone to face in the playoffs.- 143 replies

Josh didn’t have his best stuff. He inexplicably missed two wide open guys on 3rd downs that ended drives. And yet, when it was needed, he brought them back and his receivers made some great plays. The defense was very solid despite being put in terrible situations, and they actually closed out another game. I’m not going to boo-hoo over this victory. All goals are still in play.

I don’t know why @ScottLaw disagreed with this, but it is exactly right. Miami is consistently in the top 5 in the various “power rankings” floating around the intarwebs, but they have approximately 0.0% chance to actually win the Super Bowl as they currently exist. Fans and media ooh and aah over the bombs to Hill and Waddle, and Mostert has had a great year, but when they face good teams they struggle. The Fish have an opportunity to prove everyone wrong starting this Sunday. I don’t think they’ll do it. I think Dallas beats them in a shootout, Baltimore bludgeons them, and the Bills finish them off.

That's not really the Bills' M.O., however. When they are "on" they tend to blow out the bad/mediocre teams. The Chargers may come out of the locker room with energy Saturday night but if (when) they fall behind by two scores I simply don't see them fighting to stick around. Also -- McD tends to own inexperienced QBs. Gonna go ahead and lay the points myself.

I'm absolutely giddy with the thought of DaQuan potentially being back by the Miami finale...

The law firm of Cook, Johnson & Murray is performing quite nicely, I agree.

This will be the first game I miss in 27 years. Thanks NFL

Peacock subscription question ( Bills game related)
eball replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t waste money on the no-ads version if you’re only subscribing to watch this game. I signed up for premium and will cancel it next week. $5.99 to watch a Bills game is a no-brainer. -
When Floyd first came out he looked like he was favoring his ribs on the left side…hopefully nothing significant.

If you think the environment at SoFi will be “sterile” I have some news for you…that place will be rocking with Bills fans…

He’s one of the most athletic guys on the team.

I'm trying, but i'm not seeing your logic.

To those who say the offense is “rewarded” when they fumble the ball out of bounds…what about all the times the ball is fumbled backwards? Additionally, the offense loses a down. Sometimes the fumble results in a first down or gains yards, and sometimes it loses yards. The bottom line is still that the defense doesn’t get the ball because they didn’t possess it. My rule proposal is a rule based upon where the play began: If the starting LOS is at or inside the 10 yard line, the ball is placed at the 10 and the offense retains possession with a loss of down. If the starting LOS is outside the 10 yard line, the ball is placed at the 20 and it is 1st and 10. If the fumble is during a return (punt, kickoff, fumble or interception), the ball goes to the 20 and that team takes possession, 1st and 10.

The offense isn’t “rewarded” when they fumble the ball out of bounds…they simply retain possession because the defense didn’t take it away. Nobody fumbles on purpose to gain an advantage — at least not since they changed the rule on advancing a fumble late in the game. Sorry, just not seeing your logic here.
-
The big deal is that the defense didn’t recover the ball yet they receive a huge, game-changing reward. Maybe the revised rule should be that a team fumbling the ball through the end zone keeps possession but the LOS moves to the 20-yard line — or something like that.
-
When a team kicks off or punts they are intentionally relinquishing the ball to the other team. It is anything other than "perfect sense" that a fumble out of the endzone is treated the same way.
-
I see several people in this thread saying it's a great rule, but nobody can logically explain why. What has the defense done to deserve to possess the ball that is different from what happens when a player fumbles out of bounds?
-
Why should fumbling into the end zone be different than fumbling out of bounds? It’s an insane rule that makes no sense on any level. The defense hasn’t “earned” the right to possess the ball. The only question is where to spot the ball for the next play, and placing it where the player fumbled or at the previous LOS are the two options that make the most sense to me.

The Classic Uniform for the Bills against the Cowboys
eball replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
White helmet, blue jersey, white pants has been the Bills’ primary home kit since their inception. If that isn’t “classic” I don’t know what is…
