Do you enjoy just being completely wrong about everything? -
You do realize it’s possible we both have valid points….

If Kincaid can fill the slot role of this team...
eball replied to Cray51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Funny, I just started a thread on the draft story earlier this morning. -
The article is linked on the TBD news page. Apparently the Giants and Bills had a deal in place to trade picks because Beane really wanted Kincaid, but Schoen nixed it on draft night to trade up and get their guy, and Beane had to then scramble to do a deal with Tampa (edit: Jacksonville) and jump ahead of Dallas (whom everyone knew wanted a TE). Anyway, I found it interesting that Kincaid was Beane’s target all along…

I think you misunderstand me slightly. Your comments suggest a continuing trend for Josh and I don’t think the stats support that. I believe 2021 was the “bad” year and Josh rebounded quite a bit last season in the passing game despite the issues with his receivers and OL. Those 1.4 more rush attempts from 2020 to 2022 aren’t necessarily because Josh wanted to run more…you could chalk that difference up to the horrid OL play and Josh needing to scramble. The lack of a competent short yardage running game also meant Josh became the #1 option on 3rd/4th and short. But getting back to passing stats. Josh’s TD % went back up to 2020 levels last season and pretty much all of his numbers were better than they were in 2021. I share your concern about Josh being placed in harm’s way, even though his two significant arm injuries haven’t been the result of his running. If those rushing attempts per game don’t drop this season I’ll consider it a failure by Dorsey. Josh’s running should be a weapon used judiciously and not a fall-back option.

Last year was closer to 2020 than 2021 for Josh, and the bottom line was that his OL sucked. The drops also hurt, but Josh was dealing as a passer last season despite his injury. He also only rushed an average of one more time per game than he did in 2020. For those who like the ESPN QBR rating: 2020 QBR: 76.6 2021 QBR: 60.7 2022 QBR: 71.4 Josh is most certainly continuing to improve as a QB. If his pass-catchers actually do that this season he’ll be back to 2020 form (if not beyond).

What a great thread — except for @C.Biscuit97 bragging about his Buffalo girl and @Giuseppe Tognarelli’s horribly ignorant take on the city itself. Buffalo has been called one of the best-designed cities in the world for the structure of the city and its neighborhoods. Nobody can tell me it’s not a great experience to stay/walk around neighborhoods like Elmwood Village and Allentown. The architecture is brilliant — and Albright Knox art gallery is world-renowned. But that’s not why you’re coming, so don’t worry about it. Gabriel’s Gate for wings — check. Bar-Bill for beef on weck — check. Niagara Falls, including Maid of the Mist — check. Get out to the stadium by 9 am on gameday. Bring some beverages. As soon as you tell folks you traveled from Argentina you’ll be the guests of honor for every tailgate you visit. Have a great time! I want to hear the post-visit report!

It’s going to be fun taking that place over when the Bills play there…like we always do. -

He probably didn’t even watch the show detailing how they made decisions regarding the stadium. Configuring the stadium so it could host kickball games would impact the quality of seats for a significant number of fans who only come there to watch football. -

You said you missed him 🤦🏼♂️ -
I disagree. There is benefit to both sides to do an extension now. Beane is betting that Gabe's "flashes" will become the norm and getting a discount, and Gabe is getting security and staying with an organization (and superstar QB) who will maximize his career. It only doesn't make sense if you believe Gabe is a flop.
-
I don’t think it’s a tough spot at all. I bet Beane is trying to get it done; the likely holdup is Gabe wanting to ball out and see what he really commands on the open market.

Is that the second one in a row (with an off day in-between)? I don't want to be a Chicken Little but...

It's called the "honeymoon phase." And let's face it, Rodgers has only won one Super Bowl under pretty preferable circumstances...how many home playoff games did they come up short in as favorites? He may be "invigorated" right now, but the Jests have a gauntlet to begin the season and lets revisit this topic in mid-October after they've faced the Bills, Cowboys, Pats***, Chiefs, Broncos, and Eagles. I'll go on record right now that they'll be no better than 2-4. Edit: I just reviewed the Jests' schedule and I have them at either 8-9 or 9-8. Missing the playoffs again.

No backup QB discussion on this board is complete without someone still saying Jim Kelly’s ne’er-do-well relative deserves a shot with the Bills.

I stay away from here like the plague on game days. Aside from those three hours, no other fan site I’ve ever seen compares. -
Nice backpedal. You said preseason NFL programming is based upon “what the fans think.” No fans think the Bills are bad or “done” — you are just clinging to the “poor us in a small market” mentality.
-
You know this based upon what? Your experience in NFL programming? It’s an awful take. If anything, the networks want to showcase teams in preseason who have high profile early draft picks (QBs), bad teams that are expected to “turn the corner,” or teams featuring superstars who switched teams in the offseason. The Bills are “boring” in that regard as one of the league’s most stable organizations. As for national coverage, have you missed the multiple threads on TSW about national pundits specifically talking about the Bills? Josh Allen is all over the place. The media loved the Diggs fiasco. The lack of Bills’ preseason games being aired live is nothing more than a random anomaly. There are no “real” NFL fans who believe the Bills are “done.”
