Steelers @ Bills. Monday, January 15th at 4:30pm.
eball replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL at the worry warts (or trolls) in this thread. The Steelers are not a good football team; they are one of the worst (and most fortunate) playoff teams I’ve ever seen. If Bills fans are “scared” by this game I suggest you find another outlet for your entertainment. The line is nearly double digits for a reason. Does crazy chit happen? Of course it does. But I’ll take my chances in this game 90 times out of 100. The 10 times Pittsburgh wins in that scenario are when the turnovers are 4-0 or something nutty like that. When the Bills lost to Denver I was ready to kick McD to the curb, but he has absolutely impressed me with how he turned the tables on every “expert” and has suddenly become a coach who not only wins close games, but seems to thrive in them. 5-1 vs. the playoff field! Go Bills! 15-6, babyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! -

One thing is for certain…Tomlin is a master motivator and will have the Steelers frothing by Sunday afternoon. “Nobody thinks we’re good enough to be in the playoffs…blah blah blah.” Bills need to be ready for a slugfest early on, and Josh just needs to take better care of the ball while not losing his aggressiveness. Bottom line is that Pittsburgh is NOT a good football team and will probably be without their best player. Get through the first quarter without making any major mistakes, and the Bills should win handily. -
Anyone else have a good feeling about the Titans vs. Jags?

Von Miller: Bills made “right decision” to sit me
eball replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good on Von for being a team guy and not your typical star athlete prima donna. Now, obviously, the question is whether he ever gets back to playing at that standard. Will a switch suddenly flip or is the explosiveness gone? I’ll be very surprised if he is active Sunday night. -

Why, because this defense has been so awful? -
Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

We are to the Fish what the Pats*** were to us during the Brady era...we're definitely in their heads and we have the QB to back it up. -

I think we've discovered the problem. On this board everyone is pessimistic, and on that board everyone is delusional. Just sit back and enjoy the game. The Bills will be fine. -
I don't mean to pick on you specifically, but this is the statement of someone I'm guessing has never really played competitive sports. The best way to get injured is to try not to get injured. If these guys aren't giving it 100% on an NFL playing field they will get destroyed. Baltimore may rest a few key players but they will absolutely not be telling players to "go easy."

Josh is awesome. Just read his quotes from yesterday’s media appearance and he’s giving the Fish nothing…textbook stuff for making sure there is no bulletin board material. He even said “their crowd will be rocking, it’s a hostile environment we’re going into” — yeah, for them. 😂 -

@ScottLaw you’re such a dolt, “quietly” disagreeing with my posts yet offering nothing. I was right once again that the Bills were not dead, and I’m right that the Ravens aren’t “taking the day off” against the Steelers. Sitting Lamar for a QB with playoff experience isn’t throwing in the towel. -
Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
eball replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a reasonable question, but I don't think the Ravens will take essentially three weeks off before playing another meaningful game. The risk of losing your edge is too great. Besides, if you're Baltimore and you see what you just did to Miami do you really think Buffalo will lose to them anyway? It's a dangerous thing to screw around with your team in an effort to try and game the system. Sure, the rest of the AFC would prefer not to see the Bills but I don't think any coaches are making decisions on that basis. I'd bet if you ask coaches, most would prefer not to have a bye at all unless there are key players they are trying to get healthy. -
Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

Yeah, there's nothing like giving an unproven late round rookie who has been hurt all season his first meaningful reps in a playoff game! -
I'm sure I've told this story here before, but that game was while I was in grad school at UB. I had a pair of season tix in the 330s, and for this game I let my mom and sister sit there. Me, my (now departed) dad, a buddy from school and his brother got four seats in the nosebleeds on the visitors' side of the stadium. I don't remember if we were actually in the last row, but we were very close to the top. The game wasn't a sellout because the Bills had been thrashed by Houston the week prior, when Kelly was hurt. We lost the division and even though this game was at home nobody thought the Bills would win. The WGR cardboard handouts proclaimed "Drill The Oilers." The Jerry Sullivans of the world gleefully predicted the end of the Bills' run...and it looked like they were right when Bubba McDowell returned a deflected pass for a TD early in the 3rd to put the Oilers up 35-3. The four of us looked at each other and said "one more drive" -- we all wanted to see the Bills at least give it an effort and couldn't make ourselves leave because it had been such a great run. Needless to say, folks were leaving all around us. What happened afterwards will remain the greatest sporting memory of my life (until the Bills win a SB). We scored...then we got the onside kick and scored again. The crowd came to life. After the TD that brought us to 35-31 we looked out over the back of the stadium and saw fans streaming BACK IN. This was unheard of at the time -- once you left a game you were out -- but, the story is that Bill Polian famously ordered security to "let 'em back in." I believe the crowd was larger at the end of the game than it was at the beginning. Christie's FG to win the game was almost anti-climactic...we were exhausted. Everyone was high-fiving and hugging one another in the stands; a scene I have not witnessed at a sporting event before or since. And yes, I still have my ticket stub.

I don’t like having this conversation this week. Let’s wait until the Fish are eliminated from the playoffs.

The guy who posted this is a dolt. No reason to post it other than an attention grab. No new info and no specifics, just wink-wink “I’ve got a source and will disclose more later” crap. What a joke.

I take all of this stuff with a large grain of salt. If Josh can't throw without hurting himself or making it worse, they wouldn't have him out there. His coach isn't Mike McDaniel, for crissake.
