Full Intelligent Breakdown of DK Metcalf
eball replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2018 offseason? I completely agree. This offseason? Not so much. Obviously Morse -- which you concede. But when you bring in a free agent I don't think you're EVER banking on him being here in five years. You hope that for players you draft and for superstars. The entire rest of the roster undergoes turnover within a five year timeframe. I think you can tell what Beane is thinking by looking at the contracts. If it's a one-year deal or it's structured so that the Bills can get out relatively painlessly then it's a stopgap or "prove it" contract. If it's three years or more he's hoping they become part of the core of the roster. I think the Bills expect Brown and Beasley to be here for several seasons. -

Quite possibly the worst sports radio show ever produced. -
You think Kraft enjoys being blown off like that?

Nice to see Jake deGrom start back up where he left off.

And Ed Oliver.

Yeah, I had a similar thought. I understand wanting to spend time with family but what does "spend more time on my faith" even mean? He wants to sit around reading the Bible? Sounds like a canned statement meant to garner empathy.

Unpopular Take. The Bills should trade for Rosen

All I needed to read. This is no Bills fan. Shut it down. -
And there you have it. More resources being dedicated to ST. Wonder if they talked to Gore about him first. Would actually surprise me if they didn't.

At least their owner is clas....oh wait, scratch that.

Did Harry run the 3-cone and short shuttle at the combine? If so, what's the big deal? -

If the message board community consisted of 97% women -- a lot. And I'm not ashamed to admit Tony Romo is a handsome man. -
If Oats is getting 3M per year at Bama (that's what Avery Johnson was making) the move from UB and his 800K salary was a no-brainer.

AT WORST, we can probably agree that the WR corps going into training camp this year appears to be light years ahead of what we had going into 2018. I know there is some hand-wringing among certain fans that there is no "true #1" receiver on the team but they now have at least four guys (Brown, Beasley, Foster, Jones) with significant starting experience who are not on the downturns of their careers (Beasley's a bit older but not past his prime). Even if they don't draft a WR (I hope they do, FYI) they're not in "trouble" at the position the way they were for much of 2018. I still like McKenzie as well, and we don't yet know what we have with Duke but he's intriguing. The biggest benefit I see moving forward, as others have noted, is that this is now Josh's 2nd year and the learning curve should have flattened out. Now it's all about repetitions and building chemistry -- not "learning the NFL." He'll have a chance to really develop something with these receivers so they hit the ground running in W1.

I posted it in the OTW thread, but Buffalo needs a coach who wants to build a Gonzaga. Hurley and Oats have made the program marketable and there is something to be said of that.

UB needs somebody who wants to create a Gonzaga. At least Hurley and Oats have made the program marketable. We'll see what happens.

I think the Bills' biggest need is young talent -- anywhere (besides QB). That's why I don't want them to trade down. They've mostly addressed their major needs to start the season; they need talent at key positions to contribute immediately and provide depth while they develop.

Josh Allen vs Carson Wentz - Rookie Season
eball replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
@TaskersGhost are you insane? The only thing anyone has opined in this thread is that it warrants optimism Allen was able to put up comparable -- and better in some cases -- stats behind a terrible OL and with awful targets to what the Wunderkind Carson Wentz did in his rookie season. Give your crusade a rest.
