  1. That would be a great trivia question. Everyone assumes the Seahawks were immediately great when Carroll got there.
  2. You and the “you can turn it around in a year or two” crowd are just wrong. The Rams are an anomaly, and regardless, they had their QB and RB when McVay took the job. Listen to a guy like Pat Kirwan who says it’s only fair to give a coach and GM five year contracts if you really want to give them a chance. McD and Beane have this team trending in a great direction, and those of us not complaining about “tearing down the empire Whaley built” are ready to enjoy the ride.
  3. No schitt. The guy might literally snap an opponent’s leg in two out there if he is rubbed the wrong way.
  4. In for $50
  5. I think Richie is misunderstood and really just needs someone to give him a chance.
  6. Umm, I do. I will be shocked if Lamar Jackson winds up having a better NFL career than Josh Allen. If you don’t think John Harbaugh would trade Jackson for Allen straight up, right now, you’re fooling yourself.
  7. I have pretty much tuned out the Sabres since they went into the tank (again) but I was glad to see them move on from Nylander, who just didn't seem to have "it" when he had his chances. If Bots was able to grab a talented young defenseman in the exchange even better, although it appears as though the Sabres are trying to set a record for most blueliners on a roster.
  8. The lengths to which I’ll go? Good god, man, get a hold of yourself. Your disdain for anyone who doesn’t share your brand of pessimistic “realism” is really pathetic.
  9. Sounds almost identical to my setup. Main TV (DTV) on the Bills, Firestick TV on Red Zone (since there is usually a delay).
  10. Did you at least buy her dinner?
  11. Nah, if that happens there will just be a vocal "Belichick owns McD" contingent. Anyway, I agree with your other point about bumps in the road for the offense early. That's where the team's strength (D) comes into play. And can the "bumps" this year's O faces still be any worse than what Josh was dealing with last season?
  12. I'm not about to predict that Zay Jones will suddenly become a star, but he was an incredibly accomplished receiver in college who did not drop balls. That has to be mental. Also, 2019 is Zay's first true offseason of participation because last year he was recovering from his Vegas escapade. By all accounts he has added upper body strength and has been working on his route running. He knows the offense, and he was able to create some chemistry with Josh last season. If we are ever going to see something out of Zay it will be this year...and I'm cautiously optimistic.
  13. So simple, and yet so misunderstood by the "we need a true #1 WR" crowd. A good scheme, competent QB, and reliable pass-catchers are what a team needs. Sure, it's nice to have that one guy you know you can throw it up to, but the good QBs find the open receiver no matter who it is.
  14. The Vegas odds have very little to do with "predictions" -- we all know that the public bias outside of WNY is that the Bills are horrible.
  15. Bieber is bad, but everything else is pretty solid.
  16. Didn't we just see that in Miami? For a supposed offensive "guru" he sure made a ton of questionable decisions on that side of the ball. The almost certain conflict between Gase and Greggggg is going to be so much fun to watch.
  17. Some people just want to watch the world burn...
  18. Not saying it's likely...just that this is what they are guarding against.
  19. Josh turned Zay Jones into a threat over the final five weeks of the season. Just sayin'...
  20. There are many learned NFL scholars out there who will tell you the QB elevates the receivers, not the other way around. If the OL gives Allen time and he has made a "natural" progression from Y1 to Y2 the weapons should be good enough, given his talent.
  21. No, they're worried about not requiring tickets and then having more than 70K show up. That's the only reason I can think of why they require tickets (albeit free ones) at these night practices -- the fear that if they don't, too many people will show up and have to be turned away.
