Marrone has a concept but he lacks imagination and flexibility. Yeah, he'll impose structure and discipline but there is absolutely nothing exciting about his coaching style. I don't want to run down the whole list but my gut tells me he's in the bottom half of NFL head coaches (meaning there are at least 16 who are better). I think Gailey is a better HC than Saint Doug if he has the right DC. He was saddled with mediocre talent and a bad DC (of his own choosing) in Buffalo, and he still managed to make things exciting for a while.

Exactly right. Palmer understands that Josh Allen has perhaps the most impressive physical characteristics of any QB in the league, but he's behind the 8-ball in terms of experience and "big time" coaching. It's all about how quickly (or if) he develops. What keeps me optimistic is feeling pretty confident that Josh is also a really smart and competitive guy who wants to be great and will work at it.

With a two-time SB winning QB throwing to him the Giants went 6-10, 6-10, 11-5, 3-13, and 5-11. Man, that's a lot of games changed by OBJ. But he DID have 4 catches for 28 yards in his one playoff game! Oh, and that MNF highlight!

Tre White? Matt Milano? Dion Dawkins? I don't think selecting three starters in his first draft helps your argument. As for McD on game day I'd say that's a work in progress, but I would hope you're not presuming a HC can't improve in this area.

Agreed, and I'll happily laugh along with our ineptitude. This year's Bills one should be interesting, considering Magary is a Vikes fan and the Bills destroyed them. I'm sure we'll be subjected to a lot of warranted Peterman jokes, and I expect Kelvin Benjamin to make an appearance as well.

One of the problems is that the two biggest egos are the HC (Gase) and the DC (Gregggggg). I envision Buddy Ryan/Kevin Gilbride fisticuffs on the Jets' sideline at some point this season. Coaching will doom that team.

Well, you already know how I feel about this team. There is always a game or two that don't go the way you expect but every home game is winnable and after the Bills get off to a quick start -- including a win in week 4 vs. the always-struggle-early Pats*** -- they'll build momentum heading into the more difficult (on paper) part of the schedule. Some highlights: -- 5-0 going into the bye and the talk of the league... -- Squish the fish at home to go 6-0 for first time in franchise history... -- On the wrong side of a tight game with Philly for first loss... -- Win three of next four (L @ Cleveland) to head to Dallas at 9-2... -- Beasley catches 18 passes for 190 yards and 2 TDs in Thanksgiving Day win... -- Defeat Baltimore at home to go 11-2 before two tough road losses at Pittsburgh and NE***... -- Stomp reeling Jets to finish 12-4 and clinch AFC East... That's 7-1 at home, 5-3 on the road, and a home playoff game (or two), folks. Let's get this schitt started.

If there's one guy I'm not worried about knowing how to get himself ready for the regular season it's Gore. This will give Singletary more touches, which is what I'd like to see anyway.
