  1. Well, along with the three other weekend pairings that means half of the Bills’ home games have a Sabres game on the front or back end. Is that really bad?
  2. At least it wasn't written by Chris Brown...
  3. Nearly 89 pages of this thing and it still all comes down to a simple issue no one can prove: Group A: Going into the 2016 offseason (after they fired Rex) the Bills were talented and a new coach/GM didn't need to tear down the roster. They should have continued to build with Sammy, Dareus, re-signed Gilmore, kept Darby, and drafted Mahomes or Watson. If they had done that we wouldn't be going into year 3 "hoping" things work out. Group B: A new coach and GM should have the right to mold a team in their image, and many players who were on the Bills' roster when McBeane arrived didn't fit what they want to build so they moved those players out and began a reshaping of the roster. They drafted their QB a year later and have now completely overturned the personnel. With solid drafts and lots of FA activity this offseason the team is poised to take a large step forward. That's it. Group A will never be proven right or wrong because what they want didn't happen. If the Bills don't show marked improvement this season and become a regular playoff participant none of it will matter and Group B will be disappointed as well. The biggest gripe I have in this whole discussion is with those who act as though McBeane are not following through on a specific plan -- as if they're just shooting from the hip and are clueless. Whether you like or agree with the plan is irrelevant; there is most certainly a plan, and these are not stupid men. Either option was possible. Nobody is absolutely right or absolutely wrong. Let's try and get another 50 pages out of this thing.
  4. Title: THE AGENDA Subtitle: "Why I don't care if the Bills become good because they didn't do it the way I wanted them to!"
  5. Thanks for proving my point!
  6. LOL, ask 100 NFL fans who Greg Cook is and you might get 2 or 3 correct responses -- from 65-year-olds.
  7. When you post stuff like this it really appears as if you have an agenda. Yes, McBeane are still here and have been turning over the roster. Do you think it is intellectually honest or productive to suggest that the offensive production for this year's team will be the same as last year or 2017 simply because the HC and GM are same but probably 2/3 of the offensive starters are different? Come on, dude. And if he was, it's an agenda-driven post.
  8. What's weird is that folks can't understand comparing a player's production with the expectations arising from his draft position. At this point in his career Sammy Watkins has stolen millions of dollars from three NFL franchises.
  9. They are? Probably 7 new starters on offense. I don't know what fans you're referring to, but I've said several times the "floor" for this team should be 8-8 with elimination of the bad losses and offensive statistics not mired in the bottom quarter of the league. My story hasn't changed, and I couldn't care less about my "ego" when guessing at a team's record.
  10. I don't think you understand the definition of that word.
  11. Dude, please stop with the "you're a homer, you'll support everything" agenda because that is clearly not what I do. I simply look for positives and don't harp upon negatives. You know the old saying, "don't show me a problem, show me a solution?" That's me. Sammy has been a failed #4 pick, whether here, in LA, or in KC. He has not produced the sort of return expected for that kind of investment at this point in his career.
  12. You should be "flammed" for calling the Pegulas incompetent because that's an ignorant remark. At worst, the Pegulas are learning on the job and may have relied too heavily on people like Russ Brandon early in their Bills' ownership. It has been repeated many times that keeping a GM and scouting staff on board until after the draft is not uncommon, even if a change will be made. I still think it's reasonable to believe that until Whaley's abominable press conference post-Rex's firing he had at least a 50/50 shot of staying. Scott, I respect that you have opinions about what you think the Bills should or shouldn't have done, but it's not reasonable to label the Pegulas as "incompetent" with respect to what they have done regarding the Bills. The only fact that really matters is that Sammy Watkins has not been a reliable high-level contributor on any team he has played for thus far in the NFL, and for a 5th overall selection that's a failure.
  13. It'll catch on, I swear!
  14. That's very productive. Of course it was discussed. I was responding to a specific Gunner post in this thread.
  15. My first comment was that it makes sense. I just believe that would be a huge deal and I can't imagine Rivera and the Panthers being "ok" with it. They're not dumb either.
  16. To fire him? More blowouts and a sub-.500 record. To extend? AFC East title?
  17. What you're suggesting is basically the equivalent of insider trading or corporate espionage. I just don't think it would be swept under the rug.
  18. This all makes sense. But if it is true why would the Panthers and Bills still be "friendly?" Beane arguably helped the Bills draft at the expense of his (then) current employer.
  19. Well, sure, of course they need to mesh, but the guys they signed did perform reasonably well with their previous teams so I don't think it's realistic to think they'll suddenly get worse.
  20. I see more designed runs, but fewer "oh schitt" runs because the OL let through a jailbreak and we had Kelvin Benjamin and Charles "my knees hurt" Clay loafing around the place.
  21. It's really a shame his first name isn't Todd.
  22. The blowouts last year were the result of an offense featuring Peterman, raw Josh, and DA -- with Benjamin as the #1 WR. The game vs. Chicago at home (Peterman's last start) was the first Bills game I made no effort to watch live in as long as I can remember. Absent some pretty crazy stuff happening I just can't see that sort of ineptitude returning.
  23. I'm intrigued by Daryl Johnson at DE. If he can't beat out Love to make the roster I feel like he's a prime PS candidate. Raw but great size and measurables for the position, if I recall. If memory serves, he couldn't last a full game either.
