Joe B All-22 Review of Dolphins game

Just added him as a follow on Twitter. -
So many good young qbs in the NFL right now

Ha, look at you moving the goalposts as you see Josh Allen have success. So funny and so predictable. Now it's "easy" to be an NFL QB. No, what's happening is that there a lot of athletic, talented QBs coming into the league and coordinators are finding ways to use their strengths rather than insisting upon the old "prototype" of what an NFL QB is supposed to be. -

Yet another reason why I stay away from any casual fan's "analysis" of OL play -- and even some experts. That said, I do give your opinions more consideration than most. -
Yeah, this is pretty much exactly how I felt Bobby Woods would feel about this game. There's no ill will.
-
And if not special teams, then by either the offense or defense.
-
Under McD the Bills seem to take a very cautious approach early on with injuries, and I can’t say that the results have been poor.
-
You’re spending way too much time on this. I disagree with you. The Bills are not an “iffy” team in the minds of true NFL experts — the only question mark coming into the season was Josh Allen’s progression, and he has answered the bell in nearly everyone’s mind. Sitting around waiting for a house of cards to collapse isn’t my bag. I know a good thing when I see it and I’m not going to let 2000-2016 memories keep me from being confident about this team and organization.
-
Yep, and even though JT is critiquing Allen you can hear the genuine awe in his voice when he talks about the dimes Josh was dishing.
-
I can see this entering into McD's mind, even subconsciously, but I'll disagree with you on one thing -- he absolutely knows who the Rams' players are.
-
I watched the whole thing. Appreciate the analysis and yes, it looks like Josh was deciding between multiple open receivers frequently. I think JT is a bit nitpicky but I'm sure Josh and Daboll watched this tape and said similar things. The biggest takeaway for me, though, is the accuracy and touch on the throws.

I don't know about "extra motivated" -- it's not like the Bills cut him. He'll probably be a bit melancholy about it, and miss that there are no fans because he knows what a great atmosphere it is. I doubt he holds any ill will or thinks he needs to "get back at" the Bills.
-
I strongly disagree. Go back and read every preseason prognostication for the Bills. The only question mark raised is Josh Allen. Phrases like "the Bills will only go as far as Josh Allen takes them" abound. The casual fan knows Buffalo went to the playoffs last year and "should" have beaten Houston. I don't pay attention to BBFS-stricken Bills fans because that's just a mentality that needs to go away. When your QB comes out and puts up historic numbers against any NFL defense for two weeks it's enough to definitively say "he hasn't reached his peak." If you can't see that, I'm sorry.
-
They don't exist.
-
Meh. No "expert" out there is skeptical of the Bills as a franchise that has reached the upper echelon of the NFL. The only question mark heading into this season was whether Josh would continue to show progression or if he had already reached his pinnacle. That question has been answered.
-
Interesting take. I think McD is from the Dean Smith school of press conferences. Do nothing but praise your opponent and talk about how much of a challenge this week is going to be for your team. If there is one thing McD is not, it's unprepared. He's not about to give anyone one lick of material to use against him or his team, and he couldn't care less what you think of his press conferences.

If people are still “skeptical” about a franchise that has been to the playoffs 2/3 years and has started this season 2-0 they’ve got nobody but themselves to blame for their pig-headedness.
-
I’m finding it extremely difficult to prevent myself from getting “giddy” over what is going on in Orchard Park. So let’s say Josh really has turned the corner and can now “pick apart” zone defenses or beat man coverage. The other extremely rare aspect of his game is that he seems to always make the first rusher miss. This combination of Mahomes-like arm talent and Jackson-like escapability/threat as a runner could legitimately turn Josh into the most dynamic and difficult to defend weapon at the QB position in the league. We’ll need to see it for more than two games, obviously, but wow.

Vikings fans already bemoaning the trade
eball replied to Thunderstruck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always believe that the winner in any trade is the team who got the best overall player. I suppose it’s unfair to judge Jefferson so soon, but this one looks like a winner for Beane all the way. -
By the way, you left out the AP Pro 32 rankings...Bills are #5 (up from #7) and the Rams are #7 (up from #9).

Prediction - Running game will be big on Sunday

I think I saw in another thread that they are primarily a zone team. That’s antithetical to the “attack their weakness” mantra Daboll aspires to. Nobody — I repeat nobody — in the Bills’ locker room gives a rat’s ass about what Ramsey said about Josh coming out of the draft, and besides, Josh already beat Ramsey and Jacksonville in his rookie year. Daboll will scheme to attack what the Rams don’t do well. -
Amazing player. RIP.
-
I’ll say what I always say...these rankings don’t get me riled up, ever. But looking at all of them together they do beg the question of what exactly are the USA Today and One11Sports “rankers” watching?

For better or worse, garbage time drives count in those statistics as well. Probably doesn’t make a huge difference but it could be worth a couple of tenths of a yard...
