Seahawks game on NFL network Jacob Hollister
eball replied to Dave in Avon Lake now's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
@Rochesterfan I'm admittedly higher on Knox than a lot of people...I think he is in the same "raw" mold as Allen was coming out and if (hopefully) he has now learned the position he is ready to break out. I do believe Daboll can create some mismatches with he and Hollister. We'll see. It's fun to pontificate though! -

Just my opinion, obviously, but I think Baker's already pretty close to (or at) his ceiling. -

The Bills need to run the ball more effectively. Notice I said "more effectively" and not just "more." 21 personnel with Knox and Hollister gives them better blocking, those two guys are NOT easily covered with a LB or S, and if other teams do try that there are fewer guys in run support. You still have two WRs on the field, plus either Moss or Motor. The offense needs to be diverse. They aren't going to shift away from a passing focus but they can give more and different looks that are just as dangerous. -

Casual means you enjoy it, you're just not that into it. There's nothing "real" or "unreal" about it. You like the Bills; I get it -- you're just not as obsessive as a lot of us are. It's cool, man -- nobody's saying you're not a "real" fan. -
Yeah, I tend to agree. Can’t see 11-6 out of a team with Cam or the rookie behind center. Their defense will be very good, though.

He won’t. Fear not. Cleveland has righted the ship but Baker isn’t in the same class as Mahomes and Allen. I think the Chargers made a really good hire in Staley, and if Herbert builds upon his rookie season the Bolts will be a problem for KC. The Baltimore love is entirely based upon Harbaugh and their front office history; they’re just an incredibly solid organization. That said, the decision to hitch their wagon to Lamar Jackson and a run-centric offense in this day and age will come back to bite them in the ass. They can’t walk away from Lamar now. -
Diggs #3 overall WR entering 2021 according to ESPN
eball replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I instantly felt less intelligent for reading that. I think Jefferson was an excellent pick and looks to be an NFL star, but Vikings fans’ insistence on continuing the “locker room cancer” narrative with respect to Diggs is silly. Good luck getting to that Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins as your guy. -

Your take sounds like that of what I’d call a “casual” fan, which is completely fine, but I don’t think many of us who come to this message board are casual fans. -

I think the Hollister addition gives Daboll an opportunity to add a wrinkle to the offense and play both Knox and Hollister in certain packages. They are both athletic guys who can create matchup problems, and with them both in the game it should give the run game a boost. I’d look for more 21 out of the Bills this year to give opponents more to plan for, with Diggs and one of Sanders/Beasley/Davis as the WRs. -

I'll give you the 2nd half of G4...at that point it's a bunch of future grocery clerks trying to knock each others' heads off. The homer announcers are always hilarious. I still remember the Bears-Bills preseason game from 2018 with Kyle Brandt from NFL Network (who I didn't know at the time was a huge Bears fan) fulfilling a "dream" to call a Bears game. Funniest s-h-i-t I ever heard. -
Records are made to be broken - From JK to JA

All-time Bills wins will take the longest for Josh to achieve but I don't know that it is necessarily the hardest. Kelly only played 11 seasons and averaged 9.2 wins/season. Josh has played 3 seasons and is currently averaging 9.3. Both have a "throwaway" season ('87 for Kelly, '18 for Josh). Kelly was 9-8 in the playoffs; Josh is already 2-2. If Josh plays into his mid-30s (very reasonable expectation) and the Bills' organization remains stable, Josh should blow the wins mark away. -

For any diehard Bills fan to say this is curious to me. I don't watch other teams' preseason games but the Bills? I watch every minute. I want to see the 2nd/3rd/4th string guys against live competition. I want to see the backup QBs and RBs. I know there's no game planning but watching the rookies, free agents, and long shots is more interesting to me than watching the starters during preseason. -

If there is a flaw in these rankings I see it in how the Bills' are ranked in coaching and the draft. 7th best coached team...really? They not only have very good coaching, they also have continuity. I can't name 6 teams with better coaching. I get them putting the Pats*** at #1 for Belichick but after that... -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Taking a Look at 2021

Before last season I predicted the Bills would win the AFC East and host (at least) one playoff game, and that 2021 would mark the beginning of Buffalo domination. We’re here. -
2 NFL Teams <50% Vaccinated (*spoiler* - Bills NOT one of them)

The two bolded statements above are excellent points. Until it matters (i.e., bets are being placed) the public has no right to know this personal health information. -

I’m pleased (and relieved) to hear the Bills are not at the bottom of this list, but I’m not surprised. You know the messaging from McD and Beane has been respectful but consistent. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when McD or Beane spoke with Beasley. I’d be shocked if Josh hasn’t been vaccinated by now. That dude wants to win more than anything and he’s smart enough to know that a Covid outbreak could derail their season. -

QB coach Ken Dorsey promoted to “Passing Game Coordinator”
eball replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Something tells me if Daboll gets a HC job the first thing he does is NOT going to be burning bridges with McD by poaching coaches he knows McD intends to promote. -
Sometime around 2000 or 2001 I bought a Keith Newman jersey. Odd choice, I know, but I’m a UNC grad and Seinfeld fan so to me it made sense.
