  1. This, I think, is just Timmah being Timmah. He even prefaces the comment by reminding the reader he's from Cleveland. I'm not worried about the Bills leaving. NYS won't let that happen.
  2. New article in The Athletic debunking much of what has leaked out through the press. Good stuff, should make people feel a bit better. It's a paid site. Cliff Notes version: PSE doesn't expect 100% taxpayer funding, Bills would continue to play at Highmark while new stadium across the street is built.
  3. I don't think she's leaving NFLN...this may just be a side gig during the preseason.
  4. Apparently McD told GMFB that "some" of the starters will play Friday and some will not. Music to my ears.
  5. You see, a player's contract is not just about that player. It's about the players who came before and those who will come after. One guy takes a 20% haircut for no reason other than to "do the team a favor" and how does his agent feel? How about the next set of players up for contracts? It simply doesn't work that way. NFL players have an average playing career of less than 4 years, the last I checked. They have to "make bank" while they can. You can't compare market-rate contracts for superstars in the professional sports leagues with what "average Joes" can or can't live on. Josh did what he should have done, and the Bills don't begrudge him that because he also structured the deal more favorably to the team than he had to.
  6. Oh, the days in the mid-90s of trying to find a sports bar in Atlanta with a big dish to catch preseason games…
  7. The “home team discount” stuff is and always was b.s. These players can’t afford to not seek their market value (unless they have a wife who makes more than they do). What makes this a “good” contract for Buffalo, and hence a win for both sides, is keeping the next several years’ cap hits relatively low and giving Beane flexibility down the road.
  8. “Very high on” is the coachspeak equivalent of “we are praying he doesn’t suck.” By the way, has Lief Larson managed to bend at the waist yet?
  9. Josh — 1-2 series each game (simply to break a sweat) Diggs/Beasley — Bubble wrap Morse — only when Josh is playing Rest of offense — as much work as coaches think they need Tre/Levi/Hyde/Poyer/Hughes — Bubble wrap Edmunds/Milano — 1-2 series each game Rest of defense — let ‘em fight it out, particularly on the DL McKenzie — PR/KR all preseason
  10. Anyone else LOL at the Jets tag line #TakeFlight? I read that as a suggestion to anyone considering signing with them.
  11. Sounds to me like this was a total win-win for both Allen and the Bills — if you believe (as I do) that the kid will just keep getting better.
  12. Pretty sure I called Zimmer one of my “don’t be surprised if he’s on the 53” guys earlier this spring. He has physical ability combined with the intangibles this organization loves.
  13. A - the Bills reported one player was symptomatic. B - “multiple weeks” isn’t technically incorrect. C - a big lineman is exactly the type of guy for whom I’m concerned about having a more serious reaction to infection. D - it’s just my opinion and obviously I hope Dawkins is ready to roll. Go Bills
  14. The only "injury" I'm concerned about at this point is Dawkins. He clearly had enough of a reaction to Covid that it has kept him from participating for multiple weeks. Stamina, conditioning, strength could all be affected. We have a month until the season starts but I hope he can get out there soon.
  15. Doomed, I tell ya. Chalk us up with an L.
  16. Chris Brown is a Bills’ shill who loves to hear himself speak, yet rarely says anything enlightening. Steve Tasker was a wonderful ST ace and pretty good WR.
  17. I assumed all along Dion was vaccinated, so if that is not the case you can put me in the “worried” column as well. Glad Spencer Brown is getting a lot of reps.
  18. I was there as well, with a date. Prior to Odomes’ block I’d say the atmosphere was closer to a morgue…Denver was just gashing us. After that, though, it was bedlam.
  19. I thought one of the players who tested positive was vaccinated. Either your wording is confusing to me or you think Dion wasn’t vaccinated?
  20. I also go back to the concept of the HOF being, "can you tell the complete story of the NFL without mentioning this guy?" It's not a perfect standard but a pretty good one, and it allows for some of the stats discrepancy some get hung up on.
  21. The HOF voters are less swayed by that stuff than you think. Namath made the most famous guarantee in the history of the NFL and backed it up. He was "fame" personified while he was playing. Romo's fame has essentially come in the broadcast booth. Kurt Warner -- whose career regular season stats are similar to Romo's -- stepped it up big time in the playoffs, and that's why he's in the HOF.
  22. Nah, he was a "very good" regular season QB who never won anything. His story is somewhat special because of the path he took to the NFL but that doesn't make him a HOFer. He's Kurt Warner without the playoff success and Super Bowl appearances, which to me is not enough.
  23. Perhaps it's my anti-Cowboy bias but I just don't see Romo as a HOFer.
