Agreed...unless your RB1 really brings something "special" to the table you can't overpay. Motor needs to bring it this season and get his ring, because he will likely be on someone else's roster in 2023.
-
No "odd" reason at all..you gave a "like" to the post criticizing the pro personnel approach to offense. I'm just calling you out for what you are...a known McD hater.

Beane’s mantra is “draft, develop, retain” so he never plans to have to acquire significant contributors via free agency. FA acquisitions to Beane are to provide competition and fight for roster spots…unless it’s a star player tagged to be a difference maker (Diggs, Miller). The notion that Beane’s pro personnel department “can’t” evaluate offense is farcical — but that won’t stop guys like @ScottLaw from continuing to beat that drum. We already know Scott has hated McDermott since he was hired and anything he says about him should be taken with a huge grain of salt. The proof is right in his own words from 2017 when he called Sean “Coach McEgo” before McD’s Bills had even stepped foot on the field. Can you imagine coming off a Rex Ryan regime and calling the next coach an egomaniac? Back to OJ Howard: he’s a former 1st rounder with loads of upside, signed to a very reasonable contract. If he doesn’t work out it’s hardly disastrous. I actually like Quentin Morris.

Well, I could be like you and trash the 3rd string OL…
-
He’s headed to the PS for sure.

This is a perfect summation of what I was thinking regarding Crowder. Also, your take on the OL should be required reading for a few on this board. THIS WASN’T EVEN THE 2ND STRING OL. I’m not worried about Keenum because he is a pro and will do what’s needed if (god forbid) Josh misses any significant time. He was playing with a bunch of stiffs (and Shakir). The big winner in my opinion last night was Brandon Beane.

Lamar wants his contract situation to be settled by week 1
eball replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Such a poor decision (and poor counseling/advice from family/friends) to not have an agent. It’s really mind boggling. I’m not hating on Lamar, but he is not qualified to negotiate contracts. It really is that simple. Gotta question the kid’s judgment. Unfortunately for the Ravens they are in a bind, but if Lamar had an agent I think this deal would have been done months ago. -
This. Tasker is brutal, but they’ll never oust him until he voluntarily retires. I actually like Rob Ray and think he adds insight to the Sabres’ broadcasts. Tasker just talks a lot without really saying anything.

Tim Settle is going to be a problem.
-
Much to @ScottLaw‘s dismay.

Given the fact Araiza didn’t have any issues with holding, I’d say Puntapalooza ‘22 is pretty much a wrap.

Oh my god, Case. Just awful. -

Yeah, barring a slew of injuries I don’t see a scenario in which Duke Johnson makes this roster. -

Not a good look for the Indy 1st string so far. Zero Bills starters. -

Actually, someone just stated facts that as the Vikings starter Keenum led them to the NFC Championship game. -
@ScottLaw will be so relieved.

We’re six pages in…have we figured out whether Malik is going to be a big problem or a small problem?

I don’t want to get into it here, but there is a great analysis out there (Cover1 I think) that compares that throw to the one Josh made to Sanders in the 3rd quarter of the same game. A guy with a stronger arm gets the ball to the receiver more quickly. McCorkle had to loft his to get it there — it was accurate, but gave Hyde the time to make the play. It’s a great example of where a “good” pass isn’t good enough.

Any predictions on attendance? I’m gonna say 55K.

…and, a little bit closer.

I posted this in another thread, but I think the OC needs to know that he has somebody on the sidelines he trusts to communicate face-to-face with the QB between series. I think Dorsey has that in Brady, and I expect Dorse to stay in the booth. He already said he’s going to be in the booth today.
