  1. They won't stop talking about the guy and he legit hasn't done an interview or tried out for a team in months. They think he's blacklisted because of his protest... no he's blacklisted from media coverage of his protest. When is a media circus around a team a good thing...? I'm sure our new HC would love having to answer 20 questions about why CK isn't playing over Tyrod. Every presser.
  2. He doesn't bring a whirlwind of distraction. I'd rather have RG3... The media circus that he brings is worse for literally everyone else on the team though.
  3. Yeah - we have 3 expiring contracts, and a really solid out for lorax should we want to upgrade the SAM spot. Cutting ragland now would leave us with 2 2017 rookies as the only LBs on the 2018 roster.
  4. He doesn't have to dress on gamedays... but you are jumping the gun here. You don't know what you have in the guy yet to determine making a financially irresponsible decision. Its surprising that they haven't given him a look there.
  5. Probably the worst thing you could do for him. He didn't practice for over a year... he's not going to get better sitting for another year. You end up doubling the cap hit if you cut him, and creating a huge depth issue in 2018. Splitting that cap hit with next year - you'll have 1.5 million less to spend, and 3 free agents in Humber, Hodges, and Brown.
  6. I dunno - I'm waiting for him to not look tenative. Hes going to have to get faster at processing.
  7. Just call it the... the great the poor and the appalling
  8. shots fired! Doesn't give you a good feeling about ragland
  9. Ugh - the media circus he brings isn't worth it to me. I don't want to like - link the whole thing. But i'd have to agree. I didn't watch the 2nd half TBH, but from what i watched henderson was being routinely abused, and they were bringing heat on almost every play. I did catch a nice screen pass to o'leary - good way to kind of slow down that pressure. He did a nice job selling the block. Also memorable was a tolbert cutback run up the middle for a solid gain - the defense was swarming the edge and he just planted and took what they gave him. Yarbrough has been a revelation at DE. I was super concerned with DE depth before seeing him play. How the hell did we employ Enemkpali (literally had to google "guy who punched geno smith" to remember his name) when this guy was out there?
  10. First downs = extra plays for an offense. Extra plays = extra yards. Extra yards = points.
  11. if you throw it on a 3 step drop on 3rd and 9... you'll probably not get 9 yards. Occaisionally you have to wait for players to you know, cut, and break...?
  12. I'm lost - what's everyone arguing about?
  13. Michael sam was a good college player. But he was too slow to be a tweener 3-4 OLB rusher, and too small to play 4-3 DE. Man without a position. Ragland's measurables aren't really that bad. It's play recognition and more coverage assignments that he needs to work on. You can teach people to cover, you can't really coach speed, or size. I wonder if they look at him as a SAM if he continues to struggle in the MIKE spot.
  14. Right - it's a hot take. It is designed to get people to click it so that ESPN can generate ad revenue. It doesn't have any valuable insight or information - quotes from players or coaches - because he didn't ask anyone for valuable insight or information.
  15. I thought this was an interesting read on kind of the meaning behind a West coast offense: http://smartfootball.com/gameplanning/can-the-west-coast-offense-work-anywhere-besides-the-nfl#sthash.i1cqmN3t.dpbs Less plays, more mastery, bump the tempo.
  16. The players do have a union - they can absolutely protest the requirement of players to attend university. But why would they when they already have concerns about player safety, pensions, and law suits. The NCAA racket has prevented collegiate athletes from creating a union, and they use your abilities for their own profit and gain.
  17. Yeah - why question the status quo. Where'd that ever get anybody??
  18. The players don't benefit from it though. The only thing they get is education - which some don't want or care about. They're penalized if they get any type of income based off of their fame.
  19. free farm system - but they don't get any money from it. There's gotta be some back-end deal between them and the NCAA to not try and supplement it. There's no way the NFL would do it if there wasn't a way for them to make some money.
  20. Well... a doctor needs to be a smart person. Does a football player need a degree to play football professionally?
  21. Not sure how you can defend the guy... every article he posts (I use posts, not writes, because all he does is steal quotes from other reporters articles) is total click bait. As someone else said, negative click bait generate some more clicks, so all his articles are negative.
  22. Still doesn't mean we should trade him.
  23. I think he slacked off a bit after the pay day, and the year off. So he's probably out of shape. Could be frustrated learning or something. Who knows
