  1. I can say his speed threat allows you to run pistol read/triple options. We had a bunch of success in the redzone with this. You do have to account for him on those plays specifically.
  2. It's the same negative stuff though. We are where we are... he's the guy this year. Can you say truthfully what you want to see from him to decide he's the guy beyond this year? Could you even fathom him being the guy?
  3. Was thinking the same thing, s--t or get off the pot. Docs say ur knee is good, so bring it. 4-3/3-4 its still football bro. Get out of your head and play!
  4. I mean - our numbers aligned very closely on offense with what the niners did when they were in the playoffs ever year. They weren't great, and the QBs definitely had a more limited passing role, but the ground game was great, we scored points, and didn't turn it over. We just didn't have a top 5 defense. Or Top 10. Or Top 15?
  5. I'm basically at the same point. I feel like even if he did all the things you want him to, you'd still want him to fail. Why? So you could be right. On an internet message board.
  6. I think you need a good quarterback. The whole franchise designation is tough for me. A whole different discussion - Why has Rodgers won 1, but Eli manning has 2? Brees and the saints have been 7-9 4 out of 5 years. The patriots have the best QB in the league, so they're the best team in the league every year. But the Broncos won a super bowl with a shell of manning, the 49ers and Ravens both got there mostly on the strength of defense. Seattle is a perennial contender because of their defense. I think that you need to have an elite unit (offense or defense), and one good unit. You won't get far with a bad defense, or a bad offense. You also need to have some bounces go your way. Teams with more takeaways tend to go further than teams with fewer. Teams that turn it over less tend to do better than teams with more.
  7. I don't think they're unreasonable... I just think its like - too late to have this argument? It was fine when we were like, deciding what we wanted to do at QB. But now that he's the guy, shouldn't you hope it just clicks? Shouldn't you want him to be good? If you don't think it will, thats fine. But he's going to be given every chance for it to click. Why would you root against him?
  8. I believe you can also cut them and bring them back after week 1 on a new deal. You eat the dead money (split over 2 years), but davis and ducasse are negligible dead money anyway.
  9. Maybe it's just me... but I'm kind of sick of the back and forth on Tyrod. It really doesn't matter too much what he was before, or "may" learn or "won't" learn. We're going to find out in what - a month? Just watch the show and we'll know. The debate has merits on both sides, and I'm pretty sure we've heard every argument imaginable. He doesn't throw with anticipation, he holds the ball, doesn't throw over the middle, doesn't hit receivers in stride or whatever. He also makes plays out of nothing, has a good arm, floats some nice deep passes, and has deep value as a runner and decoy in the option game. If he doesn't become the guy - we move on. If he does, hopefully we still draft someone. In the end, he's starting this year and is by far the best option available... so what are we arguing about?
  10. right - its being perceived as though he's getting in their face like kirk cousins "YOU LIKE THAT?!" Per Joe B (who was actually there) http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-buffalo-bills-camp-observations-day-10-8717 As he ran past reporters, he yelled, “Write about that!” Now, let’s get something straight, I don’t think you should be overly concerned about Taylor interacting with the media after a drive. I think it was more just a product of him being a little bit looser at practice and having fun with it, not in a malicious, taunting type of way. It was all a positive for the Bills to see Taylor operating with full confidence in the offense, and the results were the best they’ve seen yet.
  11. I think he was joking when he said it...
  12. But... that doesn't fit the narrative of the hot takes everyone is putting out there!
  13. He's towing the company line - deflect anything about this.
  14. Yeah - hes a unique slot guy. He's not super quick or fast by any means either. Just spaces the defense really well, and has enough juice out of his break to get open for a quick 5-10. Also large, so a load to take down and a red zone target. Really good hands too
  15. 31st in the league... i guess we could be a little worse. Yeah - its tough to speculate his loss without seeing how Jwilliams looks. Gillislee wasn't exactly lighting up the league before he came here, so i feel like you have to put it at least up in the air. I don't really like that Tolbert is being featured more than we expected, but hey... he's cheap, a good locker room guy, has good hands, is quicker than he looks, and has had some success in the past.
  16. Kind of a word wall... I think RB may be a push.. Depends on how dimarco is used vs. Felton. Gillislee is a pretty significant loss though and it was too late to really get a top-end replacement. WRs are probably... a bit better especially with Boldin in the fold and watkins second surgery going better than the first (knock on wood) Corners are worse - safeties are probably better considering williams was tentative, then hurt, and graham just wasn't good enough. D-line playing more towards their strengths, Shaq seemingly healthy, dareus more focused. Could be good there. LBs seem better from a depth perspective, but not super strong in the starting lineup. Z brown was a tad overrated in my opinion, but Humber is still a lineup downgrade IMO.
  17. The only way it works for me is holmes davis and ducasse. The dead money for the other 4 is too high.
  18. I think ryan davis too. I don't think zach brown was signed during the window. Any of these guys can be brought back though. After final roster cut downs I wouldnt be surprised if theres a better option than ryan davis anyway.
  19. Pretty much... watch miami tape with landry too. Move him around - throw him quick passes if they line up off him. His speed and strength make it hard to bump him at the line without basically shading a safety to play over the top. If they're bumping, then its likely that there will be space. Unfortunately it's probably in the middle of the field
  20. I think big ben was hurt in that game they lost to Miami too, but i might be mistaken. Their defense looks thinner than ours too... In some ways we're a lot like Miami.
  21. Jarvis Landry, Devante Parker, Kenny Stills, Julius Thomas, Jay Ajayi... Decent line when everyone is healthy. Tannehill isn't good imo... he's been given a ton of weapons and proved he is nothing but mediocre.
  22. Kaepernick has the same limitation as Tyrod, and struggles with Rhythm passing and anticipation. Gase likes to throw tons of short passes
  23. yeah - we were really nasty in the red zone actually. Those option runs are tough to deal with
