  1. Gillislee is listed as 3rd string on the depth chart they sent out.
  2. You can't keep everyone though... and we have no idea how his injury actually looks, or how contract negotiations would have gone. He may have been a camp hold out, or broken his foot again, or any number of other issues.
  3. It can't be considered a good thing that players are arguing. But at the same time it isn't necessarily doom and gloom either. It's 1 morning training camp practice.
  4. If he hates it so much he can retire and give us our money back Yup - i get that theres a ton of wear and tear on the body but... he is a multi-millionaire. He is set for life. How can i feel bad?
  5. yeah - but he's a lot cheaper for the next 3 years.
  6. He's also a known hot-head. Teams go after him because he'll get involved and give you free yards.
  7. There's not much left to trade honestly. You want to keep some of the solid vet's around to show the guys how to do it right. Dareus and Glenn contracts make them untradeable. We have like no running backs so i wouldn't trade shady. I like it. At least they got called out for a lazy going through the motions practice. Last year that seemed like the norm.
  8. For wide receivers, there are a ton of other factors. Sammy was super strong at the LOS so he was hard to jam, and he had the speed to blow off the top if you chose to play press. He also has really good feet for route running, and comes out of his breaks with speed. His hands/eyes were also incredible as he was able to make plays on not great throws. Zay seems to have really good hands, and you don't catch 150+ passes without having some semblance of route running ability. How he handles press man coverage will be a big learning curve in the NFL. He wasn't a very good route runner, and doesn't come out his breaks with enough speed. That's why he wasn't used a ton over the middle. His hands aren't great, and he honestly wasn't even that good of a deep threat. He had trouble finding the ball in those over the shoulder catches that should be his bread and butter.
  9. The team was 0-7 in games Goff started, he completed less than 55% of his passes, for about 155 yards per game. 5.3 YPA. Only cracked 200 yards twice- both times in games they lost by more than 3 TDs. 5 tds to 7 INTs. Only threw a TD in 3 of 7 starts. More sacks allowed than Keenum. Threw for 90 yards in a loss to San Francisco where he completed fewer than 50% of his passes. He has to be much better, or they're going to cut their losses.
  10. He did look significantly worse than case keenum once he was given the reigns FWIW... With the same coaching and midget
  11. I think hes come off a bit selfish over the years. You don't hear jordy Nelson, Antonio brown, or Edelman complaining about targets, or NBA players making more money. Just doesn't seem like he's a fit for what they're trying to do, and they got a decent offer before it was too late. I don't know if that's it, or what it is, but I feel like there were a bunch of factors
  12. By restructuring Glenn and dareus ur giving them more money up front. for the guy who's ankle is always hurt, and the guy who keeps screwing up
  13. In 2019 not 2018 for the comp pick
  14. Hey its a new coach - give him a chance... they've been a fisher team for so long we just expect them to be terrible. Personally Goff reminds me of Gabbert, which will not bode well for them though... Prove me wrong!
  15. Then it must've gone up with the contract extensions - my bad.
  16. sure - their best player on defense hasn't showed up to camp yet, and they may or may not have a QB... Offensive line wasn't particularly great in the past. They're a lot like Buffalo was last year honestly....
  17. You have "control" - it ties up a ton of cap space and he isn't guaranteed to show up.
  18. Watkins 5th year option is so high at pick 4 that its basically a franchise tag.
  19. Its 17 million. And its that or extend him.
  20. I guess - but we're also at the point of hte season where most teams have made their rosters.
  21. We have like none of our own drafted players as peopel keep bringing up - and beane makes a valid point saying teams are made in the draft because rookie contracts are soooo much cheaper
  22. Does it? Doesn't it have injury guarantees?
  23. Here is my take - The team has some very bad contracts on the books that they were left with. We also don't have a roster that is capable of competing with the perennial playoff teams like Pitt, GB, NE etc. It's not a total blow-up, but at the same time we need to add talent across the roster at multiple positions. Corner, WR, LB, QB Etc. But we also need to add talent at a cost effective price. Sammy probably was gone after the year which at best nets you 1 3rd round pick in 2019. We got a 2nd round pick in 2018. Darby was a good young corner who had ups and downs - but he wasn't a spectacular player by any means. He had a very poor 2016 season.
  24. Are matthews and zay slow or something?
