They've been solid since they hired parcells. Carroll was OK there, but obviously a solid coach. Then the ultimate parcells disciple in belichick (and the greatest head coach of all time). Coaches clearly make a major difference. Maybe this new guy will be good... All we can really hope for at this point. -

If we gave him 2nd round compensation the cap hit was 3 million instead of 4... and there's no year 2. -

The 2nd round tender boosts the starting point for extension negotiations. At that point he's almost guaranteed to be a UFA in 2018. We can have him for 2, or someone else for 4. I may tend towards keeping him... just because we draft so terribly in the late rounds. -

Ha - i'll eat my words on this one. I guess what i mean to say is - F Tom brady for making so little against the cap, and allowing them to absorb bad contracts for good players. -

Amendola took another pay cut to stay with the team too. How many bills have done that? Oh right - just our QB. -

It doesn't matter who their running back is - he's going to run all over us. It's a committee approach. They have White, lewis, bolden burkhead, maybe gillislee. It never mattered before they beat us anyway. -

I'm aware of how it's structured. It was structured with the idea of keeping him on the roster, and freeing up cap space for 2017. if you cut him next year you can split 8.5 over two years. Or just restructure again... -

Everyone's argument is why don't we get a franchise QB... As if there is 0 focus on it. We only brought in like every single QB for a visit. I think we're looking into it guys. -

But if you want to negotiate an extension he has a higher starting value. -
Tyrod Taylor's Highlights

He wasn't going to be a free agent though... so it is completely illegal tampering. If a team wanted to explore a trade they could do so. But as for talking to another team, its not going to get past the "if he's a free agent id be very interested" stage. So you can't get down to the numbers really until you're a free agent. If you're going to be a UFA, it's obviously a little bit looser. Team's have alreayd put their offers in, and players have already rejected them. -

If he plays out all 4 years...? which like no one ever does. Especially anyone on Miami. Dannell ellerbe got 35 million over 5 years... and was paid what 14 over 2? Guarantee's are all that matter anymore. -
He may never play again, and you'd have to eat Tyrod's bonus and U'd make that trade?? Insanity... Don't get the Bridgewater love... he doesn't impress me and his numbers are like Tyrod's minus the rushing yards. Never threw for more than 14 TDs in a season, and had the best running back in the NFL.

The windup, the feet, holding the ball low, throwing off his back foot... these things all lead to turnovers. You have to think anyone drafting him is going to at least explore fixing these things. In addition to ya know, calling plays in the huddle and using an NFL playbook, no-huddle, snaps from under center.... He is a project. A very interesting project because of his improvisation and huge arm. He seems to have a pretty natural ability to scramble, and see pressure which is good. And his eyes are downfield which is good.

I think Geno smith is a good example of a guy who struggle to transition from spread to NFL. He was able to wow with his arm strength in those pro-day throwing scenarios, and had fantastic numbers, but once you dissect them a bit you see that he struggled with the most basic things in the NFL. RG3 was able to get by on pure athleticism, and injuries have ruined his mechanics, and sapped him of the speed that made him hard to match up with. Arm strength and everything is great, but you need to be able to call plays in huddle, take snaps from under center, set protection, stand and deliver in the face of pressure, navigate a pocket, evaluate film, etc. All while remaining mechanically sound. So pretty much everyone coming out these days will be majority spread offense, so that's always going to be tricky. It comes down to identifying which one is most likely to improve in the NFL. Trubinsky - 1 year starter and a late bloomer - totally a wildcard but he seems to have more upside than anyone from that 2013 class. Watson - Doesn't seem to have a plus arm - played in a spread. Total gamer though and has a lot of heart and desire to be successful. Mahomes - Killer arm, played in a straight air raid offense. Weird mechanics will take time to adjust as mechanics are the key to precision and accuracy Ehhh - Mannings arm became an issue after his neck injury in Indy, and it was apparent. He still threw for like 55 TDs... But also - he's freaking Peyton Manning. He knew what you were doing before you called it.
