Why dont the Bills Audible?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or so they can adjust while i bark out gibberish. The patriots are so formation independent that motion doesn't affect the route combinations, so they move people around just to move them. Identify the good match-ups, and if you don't like it, its really easy to change the play. -

There is such a thing as intelligent play design, and the QB trusting what he sees. It's all a game out there too, yelling out gibberish half the time to see what the defense does. -

Roman. He took forever to call plays so we were always just getting lined up as the play clock winded down. -

I would use motion on almost every play... it helps with press coverage too. Occaisionally lining up your receivers tight helps create more space on the sidelines... where our QB is more comfortable throwing the ball I don't mind i formation in the running game, if you can pass out of it too. We haven't done a good job of it yet. Line up 2 WR on the left and TE on the right... force the action to the right with a run, and WR slants to the right. Roll left and have clay cut across. They were in Man coverage most of the day so taht leaves probably the WLB covering clay, and covering TT's legs -

Feels like we're absent motion sometimes too, and we always line up our receivers wide. -

There doesn't need to be that many audibles... switching out of an I formation would be one i would stress. You can zone run out a pistol or shotgun, and with a short QB he can see better with deeper drops. I also felt like the snap count this past game was getting jumped all over as well. Need to mix it up more. -

We should train our guys at love canal... maybe the chemicals will give them super powers! -

His motor is awesome. I think its a really good coach/player pairing. I didn't know much about him, but when we signed him I was definitely curious as to why we gave him what seemed like a lot of money. -
10 mil in cap savings... old roster filled with holes... uhmmmmm yes please! UFAs - Kwilliams, matthews, wright, humber, preston brown, ej gaines, leonard johnson. The biggest holes there are at WR and DT. but 10 mil is enough to re-sign most of those guys and hopefully build some additional depth. We drafted vallejo and milano too so they could deem humber expendable. Never know.

Denver doesn't want to come here.

Yes - but there are ways to disrupt timing and disguise coverage. You can't just be like - were a WCO, thats what we do.. and expect to succeed. There needs to be flexibility. -

It seems pretty lousy so far. His history doesn't seem to scream success. Gotta be willing to change and evolve with the players you got. -

You can game plan a bit differently than you did when you scored 3 points... i think you have to come in expecting to see a ton of press man and stacked boxes. What are you going to do to attack it? -

We can't run this outside zone scheme if they stack the box. They just did the exact same thing to dallas o-line... and their o-line is better than ours. -

If we don't come up with an actual game plan we will lose again. -
If we can't run the ball we're going to be pretty poopy. On some of the plays it looked like our guys were like.. on top of each other in their routes. I'd like to see some mesh/pick type stuff. Use Clay to create space for McCoy. I like the angle routes if we have a LB in man with a back - usually a check down that picks up a few extra yards. And if they're pressing then we need to find a way to get our guys off the line and to their spots on time.
-
They're swarming the ball, and our QB is fast... it worked the few times we did try it. I get what you mean saying you can't run why would it work, but we were getting blown up by their speed. I also think zone-read and spreading them out a bit more would've helped some.. at least create some 1x1 matchups instead of a wall of people. We're likely to see a lot of this against denver - they have big physical corners who will probably play a bunch of press man against us. We have to be at least a little prepared for that.
-
They basically stacked the box and played a fair amount of man on our wide receivers. Until the 2nd half we didn't run any man beating concepts, and didn't react or try to anticipate what they were doing. Really stupidly called game. Also - good analysis by people on a lot of the Tyrod plays. But I didn't see anyone post the ones where the o-line got blown up off the line on a 1st and 10 for a 9 yard sack... or the run blocking on shady's runs... There's a bit too much of an anti-TT agenda on this board. He left plays on the field. So did everyone else on offense.

Perhaps the coaching staff has a plan for how they plan to bring him along -

Can you say that without watching peterman in practice or film study? -

And petermans probably just as bad. We know we need a QB next year... So what would you say we do...?
