  1. Same with Miami. Who needed miracles against the jets, chargers, and rams to be where they're at. Luck - is what we need. And we are not getting it.
  2. There isn't really a problem. You're stuck with the player. I guess thats a problem. You do still get the player though... It's not like we'd be paying it all out and eating the cap charge this year though. That'd be idiotic.
  3. Kelly's an a-hole, and a choke artist. There. I SAID IT!
  4. Solomon Hill got 4 years 52 million in the NBA... Thats a considerable commitment to a guy who has averaged 6 PPG over his career.
  5. I mean - he'd have to really bottom out to get fired in 1 year though. Gotta figure the guy we hire is getting a few years unless he's a total train wreck.
  6. Sounds great - it's like saying: Go sign Kirk Cousins! Trade for Romo! Trade for Rivers! As if they have no say in where they go...
  7. I thought ty wrote a really nice exclusive interview story a few years ago about Watkins. Mike rodent then took out of context quotes from it to form click-bait headlines that painted Sammy in a poor light. That's today's media vs. real media in a nutshell.
  8. I think we got the best kit's in the league - is it the helmets? What don't you like? I'm of the opinion that we need to make the playoffs - get the monkey off our back - before we begin rebuilding. Best case - Matt Patricia - We're probably not even interviewing him because we assume he won't come here, but I think this guy's going to be the one winner among Belicheck's coaching tree. Worst case - No QB plan - New coach drops tyrod, doesn't sign anyone good in FA, and we burn a 1st in a weak draft filling the hole. We come out 4-12 or 6-10 (not bad enough to pick #1 overall), and make like no progress on addressing the position long-term or short-term.
  9. Kinda got nerfed a bit by the GM too. Norman is not the best corner in football as he claims - but he was the best corner on carolina. And he left mid off-season for nothing.
  10. I don't think we should use the same strategy that Cleveland is using. It'd hurt the fan base a ton and would take probably 3-5 years. First off - you have to sacrifice $$$. I don't think an owner who just dropped 1.4 bil is looking at running a profitless NFL franchise. They're eating 35 mil in dead cap in 2016. They play in an empty stadium. Odds on favorite for worst merch in football. You think the owner there is making like... any money outside of what he's guaranteed from the rest of the league, and away games? Probably not. He might save some money on marketing, since there's no point of having a marketing team since everyone knows you're polishing a turd. They do have the benefit of paying their team the least to the cap even with the penalty. So its pretty obvious why they're so bad... 2nd - you're sacrificing time. They're at least another year away from competing, they don't have a qb, they're absent any playmakers on offense really (Pryor i guess but hes UFA anyway. With their cap rollover for this year they have 100 million in cap space - and will have a hard time spending anywhere near that because no one wants to play for them. They can front load a contract or two, and probably pry an RFA or two away without draft compensation. But this will again cost the owner money because of all the reasons above. Now what they have done that's great Traded busts for pennies on the dollars, or cut them. All this did was push all their cap hits into this year/next year (this year was lost anyway). They got rid of gilbert, mingo, manziel, Kruger, bowe, and whitner. They basically said - the old regime sucked and wasted money so we're starting over. They didn't try and market or sell tickets for this season. That was smart from a building an NFL team perspective, but it also builds apathy in fans. Money paid upfront is typically split over several years. If you cut or trade someone prior to the last year that bonus money is paid - then you pay the remainder up front when you cut/trade them. When a teammate "restructures" base salary to bonus money etc. to create cap space this is what he's doing. Ensuring that he get's paid money as a bonus over several years instead of needing to be on the roster to get paid via base salary.
  11. He did last year though. 1 playoff berth in 2 years. Poor defense, poor o-line, poor running game. Honestly you may as well fire Gruden if you don't re-sign him. Because the team will be terrible.
  12. That team almost made the playoffs with him. He threw for nearly 5000 yards. They don't have any particularly effective running backs, They also have a fairly mediocre to poor defense. They roll over a decent amount of cap - have doctson to replace garcon, and still keep crowder. I could see them adding another receiver since they're losing a few. I just don't see them walking away from him with absolutely no backup plan. Especially since you kept him and let RG3 walk.
  13. They beat us twice - and the jets twice. That's really the difference. We couldn't stop stupid ajayi - TWICE!
  14. I hope a couple QBs go early - so our pick has some value to trade back. We need to start adding more depth to the team, and you do that by adding more picks.
  15. I'm sorry but i have to disagree. The coach gets canned, and the GM wants me on the bench so he can cut me I guess. Isn't that pretty much the organization bailing on me? I should put a headset on and try and help our other QBs for a team that doesn't even want me? They keep saying "business decision" but nobody made it clear one way or the other to Tyrod. So he would be safe to assume - im getting cut. Who cares what this team does at this point.
  16. I suppose - i just have no idea how DVOA is calculated so to me it means nothing. Philly lost 7 of 8 and allowed 26+ in all the losses. I don't know how you can say that's the 4th best defense.
  17. They were good - but it didn't get them any further than our bad defense got us.
  18. From what i can tell - they had a ton of turnovers. Recovering 23 of 32 fumbles (unsustainable rate), and had a bunch of picks. That's not always the most sustainable result but i'm sure it massively increases your DVOA. Oh - and they only twice allowed fewer than 20 points. Whereas this bad defense did that 7 times.
  19. The Pettine Defense was that good? I seem to remember getting gashed in the run game quite a bit.
  20. That last throw wasn't the most amazing throw ever. Both safeties were flat footed in cover 4... blown coverage to let someone behind u there
  21. Isn't he under contract? Bridgewater may not play next year
  22. Tanking isn't that effective in the NFL. It also helps to tank for a specific player or two.
