  1. I am glad we re-signed Spain first and foremost but it does leave me with questions as to what we are going to do moving forward. I agree that most people would say our weakness was RT. A lot of people want to make Ford a guard permanently, which makes sense based on last year. Re-signing Spain and Long creates a log-jam at G though, so if Ford was going to make the switch to G he is going to have to fight for snaps which seems counterproductive for a young players development when switching positions. Also what room is there for upgrades? If we agree that another RT would be an upgrade and we get one in FA or the early rounds of the draft, how is that player going to rotate in with Ford & Nseke? This move actually makes me think we sit tight at OL with what we have instead of look for an upgrade, which is disappointing a bit. Again, I am happy overall we re-signed Spain but I makes upgrading the line a bit less obvious. But as always in Beane I trust.
  2. Yea I remember a time when it didnt look like Epenesa would be available for us, and now it looks like he doesnt deserve 22. Crazy how things change. Sign me up for a tackle there.
  3. I would love a tackle r potentially edge rusher in Rd 1 at 22 and then a trade up in to the 2nd round for one of the tier 3 guys.
  4. They must want to slide Little to guard and then needed a OT? Not sure honestly. A bit puzzling
  5. Well their annual subscription is $60, which is substantially lower than $11/month. I split it with my brother and a buddy so its $20 for the year and we get everything we want.
  6. Im a paid subscriber and I hope it lasts. I dont read it every day in the off season but during the season it has the best content for Bills stuff and thats true of every city.
  7. I think the point is that they could make a move up. Beane isnt afraid to move up in the draft. Allen, Edmunds, Ford all were traded up for in the early rounds. If one of the bigger 3 (Jeudy, Lamb, Jefferson) make it to 15 or beyond I could see him making a move.
  8. I hate that people say it was cheap. If the Bengals game came before the Bills game people would talk about how we went out and won a "must-win" game against the Dolphins. Fact is we wont the games we did and we made the playoffs, thats it.
  9. They make it all back when they sell. Its like any other asset. You buy and then sell at a higher value, even if you lose or break even on revenue year over year. If Pegula ever wants to sell in 10 years or so he would make hundred of millions, close to a billion compared to the purchase price.
  10. My *only* concern, and its a minor one is that a deal signed today could be a recipe for a hold out in 2 years if/when a new CBA is signed and people are making more money. But I dont think Tre and Beane would let that happen.
  11. Thats fantastic. We still have a QB on a rookie deal, so lock up the guys we need to and swing away on 1-2 more crucial pieces to get us over the hump. The cross your fingers so hard they break that Josh develops. This is the year to go all-in.
  12. The thing is we would all love for Josh to have the season Jimmy had this year in 2020. We realistically cant expect Josh to take a massive leap. He will more than likely remain inconsistent with accuracy but 60% isnt out of the question. Jimmy wasnt great al the time this year but he did have 3 300-yard/4 TD games which isnt something Josh can claim. With Josh we get the lows and the mediocres to good but we have very seldomly gotten great and even when it feels great (Dallas, Miami) it still is just at the top end of QB play. Even getting a few of those great games from Josh next year and slightly raising his floor would make us real contenders. Some of that is certainly on the FO finding ball catchers and on Daboll schemeing it up but most of it falls on Josh.
  13. I wouldn’t hate to see Allen with a different OC. I don’t necessarily think Daboll is the problem, but perhaps someone else could help get more out of Josh. There’s no way he hasn’t been coached time and time again about taking bad sacks and fumbling but he continues to do it. Not sure what else you do about it but I don’t think that simply getting a taller WR will save Josh. He needs a lot of work between the ears.
  14. Why would you allow a loss? You need higher expectations.
  15. Dude, wut? Brown had more yards and more TDs and costs a fraction of the money and 0 picks. THAT IS WHAT A GOOD GM DOES. And yes their offense was dumpster fires but they paid more $$$ for that dumpster fire than we did. Now we are a 10 win team in the playoffs with $90 mill in cap space. Again, that is what a good GM does.
  16. Beckham and Tate werent top 2 options? Jamison CRowder was signed as a depth guy? Uhh...
  17. Disagree. Look at some of the other WRs that changed teams and how they did: Beckham, Randall Cobb, Crowder, Tate, Adam Humphries, etc. Theres a lot of signings that DO NOT work for lots of reasons, culture is one of them. Of the FA WR signings I would say that Brown and Beasley have been the most successful since both exceeded or met their career best performances. That is very difficult to do in any FA signings, let alone two in the same year. Youre underselling the job he did in terms of bringing in talent and managing the cap. I would say Beane almost deserves a higher grade than McDermott.
  18. Because were in the playoffs with $90 mill in cap space and essentially an entirely new offense. This year alone he hit on Brown, Beasley, Morse, Knox, Singletary and a bunt single on Ford. That is a LOT to get right in one offseason and have come together.
  19. To reiterate what others are saying you cannot take anything valuable from these responses to questions. But... that said there is some logic to not having Tre shadow Hopkins all game. Hopkins is so good that even with Tre on him all game you will likely need safety help on a lot of plays to ensure you keep him covered. Well if youre going to have a safety help no matter what then we will probably be ok with Kevin on him. Especially if Fuller cant go, you can have Kevin and a safety over top on Hopkins and then have Tre on Stills completely alone on that side of the field. Because Tre on Stills 1:1 with Hopkins being doubled > Kevin on Stills 1:1 and Hopkins being doubled.
  20. This is pretty spot on. completion % isnt the best stat to look at a QB but no matter what the circumstances its gotta be higher. Certainly Josh dealt with some drops but so does every QB. I do think his adjusted completion % will be better in terms of league ranking than his raw completion % though, which is more important. Onward and Upward.
  21. IF we come out hot then I think we win this game easily since it means 1) we put points on the board and 2) we will control the clock since we rarely have huge plays for TDs, more methodical drives. Assuming the defense does its thing, it will look like the Cowboys game. Unfortunately our offense is very hot and cold. we almost never come out hot and we often leave points on the board. I think we can still win an ugly game as we have all year. It really depends on how our defense handles their offense. My prediction for the game is it will be ugly on offense and Daboll/Allen will have to put just enough drives together to score points and have the defense keep the game within reach. Fortunately this Houston team has also been streaky. If they come out rolling like they did against NE then itll be tough to keep up with them given our offense. I think the Bills win a close one, low scoring game.
  22. I would add that the Brown, Jets and Broncos all feel pretty good about their QB situations (not the other aspects of the team), at least as good as Buffalo does. I think at the end of the day Allen, Darnold and Baker have all kinda reached the same point but taken different paths to get there. IMO none of that group have clearly separated themselves from the others and based on what Ive seen nobody in NY or Cleveland is ready to be done with their QB. Also I think Drew Lock has shown enough to be excited for next year. If were being honest here we all should be having our fingers crossed extra hard for Allen. Hes improved and lead this team to 10 wins but he still has things to work on.
  23. 5th round option only applies for first rounders. Later round picks just need a new contract.
  24. If the Bills go 0-3 we would need the Browns (they play the Ravens still) , Raiders and Colts to lose once and the Titans to lose twice. Im sure there more but that should do it
