  1. This was the Why So Serious game. Coming out party for Stevie. That was the very next game after this Raiders game. And we destroyed the Chiefs in week 1 so we were 3-0 and on our way to the playoffs! I was also at that Raiders game and it was absolutely electric when we won that. I think we had 5 straight TD drives in the second half
  2. I think itll be a roofed stadium down town. Id love for it to be retractable somehow but I wouldnt hold out hope because of cost.
  3. The main thing with 12 personnel (mind you two TEs that can both block and catch. This was Lee Smiths problem) is that it puts the defense into a bind and gives the offense flexibility. If the defense tries to match 12 personnel with bigger guys to stop the run, then you send the TEs out to run routes. If they go small so prevent the TEs from catching the ball downfield then you run the ball. It will not only help us open the run game it will add a massive wrinkle to the pass game that wasnt on tape last season. I am convinced our offense will be unstoppable with another premier TE.
  4. they added a third, and a first in 2023 (who even knows what theyll look like then) and lost all leverage since there are only 4 QBs anyone cares about. This does very little to make them any more competitive in the next two years, the most important for Tua, then before they made the trade. I dont really see why they did this so early. Wilson's pro day was TODAY. Let the hype build a little bit. Weird move for sure. Add in the trading of Shaq and releasing of Van Noy, the GM is making some odd moves.
  5. I think something that has to be acknowledged in this as well as the defenses rise in the back half of the season was the quality of QBs we played. Aside from Herbert, who was a rookie, we played god awful QBs all in a row after the bye.
  6. as a PR/KR + his value as "the jet sweep guy" he is much more valuable than the role he played last year. I like bringing him back
  7. Injuries last year are for sure a factor. He was limited most of the year and ever after injury just did not have the same game. They said they wanted Emmanuel Sanders for a while now. Maybe they think he can do more things in the offense than John Brown.
  8. Why the hell would Chi pay Dalton $10mill just to tread water if it required releasing Fuller?? Just sign another QB! What are Nagy and Pace thinking?
  9. That honestly doesnt sound like that much. If you trade for Wilson you need a QB. Assuming one of those firsts was this years, CHI picks 20 so no QB. Assuming Wilson helps out the team youre still picking in the late teens - late 20s for two more years...yay? and two starters? Who gives about two starters when it comes to trading picks. Without Wilson the Seahawks are toast. Any trade starts at 4 first rounders.
  10. This is my thought. I see it all over that "we get Star back...". In theory, the best version of Star will help everyones job but to bank on a guy that didnt play football for over a year, and was just average or above average when he did, to come in and re-vamp our defense is a reach. We need to get better on the D-line. So far we have not.
  11. I tend to agree. I like bringing back pieces but bringing back everyone makes improving more difficult.
  12. Looks like TB played the way we played the Chiefs the first time around. Play deep, make every throw difficult on Mahomes and make them beat you by winning at the LOS. But against us they dominated in the trenches, while Tampa Bay dominated them. I think upgrading he D-line effectiveness will be paramount this season
  13. Seems like people are missing that QBs on rookie deals sign EXTENSIONS and not new contracts. Therefore if Allen signs a new deal this offseason it doesnt mean his cap hit will explode for this coming season. It will still be manageable for two seasons before it kicks in. Go take a look at Carson Wentz and see what his cap hit was in 2019, 2020 compared to what it will be this year even though he signed his deal in 2019 for example.
  14. Im 32, so I just barely missed being able to remember the Superbowl years but I remember having people over for them. My mom was(is) an absolute die hard and was at a couple of the AFC championships. My first real memory of the Bills are them losing to the Jaguars and I can vividly remember my mom crying during Jims retirement speech. Next indelible memory is the Music City Miracle. Again I can remember me and my mom on our living room floor just stunned. We all know what transpired with the team after that, but despite that my love for them only grew. Eventually my brother also became as die hard as we were. We as a family invested so much into them but for years and years got little in return. After college I moved to Albany but would always make it home for a game or two. After grad school I moved to the bay area. The very first thing I did when I moved there was find a Bills bar. After the first week I was hooked and went back every Sunday, commuting from San Jose at first (a 2-hour train ride, games start at 10 AM mind you). It was there that I met a girl that was also from Rochester like myself. We hung out every Sunday and, to make a long story short, we're now married. Every Sunday for the next seasons we were at the bar together but after the game I would always call my mom back home. The Bills were such a good reason to call her, because between seasons I probably didnt do it enough. My wife and I have since moved back to Rochester to be close to family. We now have an 18 month old and another on the way. I owe the family that I have now to the Buffalo Bills. I owe them many frienships and I owe them for bringing me closer to my family for years and years. Now that Im home we gather every Sunday to watch them. I have a nephew that is 6 and he like to toss the ball around with us. His dad is a big Cowboys fan so I never pushed the Bills on him but this season, every time we play football now, he only wants to be Josh Allen. I used to always be the Bills, now I cant be them anymore haha. My son is being trained daily to say "Hey ey ey ey" and "Go Bills". I have told my family, my son can be whatever he wants in life: an astronaut, a teacher, a dancer a fire-fighter, gay, straight, married, single...doesnt matter, as long as hes a Bills fan.
  15. Well if theyre forced out of bounds behind the LOS it counts as a sack for them
  16. Why cant teams tie a QB pay to a % of the cap instead of an absolute number?
  17. Even more wild is that the entire Lions franchise only has 1(!) single playoff win in the the Superbowl era. Stafford has zero to his name. Most people associate the Lions with ineptitude for good reason, like the Bills and Browns. But at least we had a few runs, Browns have mae an AFC Champ game.
  18. I dont really like it. For a long time I would push back on being apart of "The Mafia". Im not a fan that would argue on twitter or jump through tables the way I thought Mafia Members behaved. For a time it did feel like there was a real separation of "normal fans" and "mafia fans" in behavior and it was ok to delineate. But the term has grown so much, its become ubiquitous and it now associated with being a fan of the team so I guess I am now in the Mafia. I would prefer it went away but I dont think thats possible, probably just my age anyway. If the young kids like it, well, the future is theirs to make it how they want. I wont stand in their way.
  19. I guess both would work since there are a lot of Simmons haters
  20. Allen is 2nd in DVOA against the blitz all season, behind only Mahomes. He is first in the league against Man coverage. It is much more likely that we are succesful against their defense if they play true to their style. If they can force Josh into hero ball it would be the first time all season. That would be playing against their normal tendency. Of course they can do it but it would be difficult on the defense to change schemes. Like I said, Indy kept everyone back and Josh still played really well. I fully expect a great day from our offense, I just think their defense plays right into Dabolls hand. On the other side of the ball though...Im worried.
