A little OT again but- From Springteen.net BRUCE OFFERS TRIBUTE TO TIM RUSSERT IN CARDIFF From the stage at Cardiff Millennium Stadium: Saturday June 14. Introduction before "Thunder Road" "I'd like to do this tonight for a long time friend of the E Street Band who passed away suddenly. "Tim Russert was an important unreplacable voice in American journalism. I watched him hold our politicians feet to the fire on many Sunday mornings. He was always a strong voice for honesty and accountability in American government .. but beyond that he was a lovely presence, a good father, husband, and good guy. He was a regular at many E Street Band shows and I'm going to miss looking down and seeing that big smiling face in the crowd. "We send this out all the way back to the states tonight for his son Luke, his wife Maureen, his dad Big Russ , and all the Russert family. "Tim , God Bless You, We will miss you..."

Yes, rascists are stupid. Also, some of them are not even WHITE!

I predict the Jets will be looking for a veteran QB next year. I agree with you about musical QBs. Sadly, this has been a problem since Jim Kelly was wheeled off the field.

Hypothetical New Stadium, Part 1
rockpile replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are right, but sadly I am not aware of any plans for improving rail service. It is slow, uncomfortable, and expensive. It is MUCH cheaper to drive my Honda to NYC with three passengers, and 3 to 5 hours faster without breaking the speed limit. -
They are free and how you get them varies depending on the game. Go to TBD front page and scroll through the news articles.

Hypothetical New Stadium, Part 1

I hear the Love Canal property is cheap. -
They often have 2 for 1 sales which make it a little better. I received one as a gift a year or two ago of the Willis decal, and it was generic enough that I actually like the 6ft decal in my Bills Bar. It is a Bill RB coming at you, partially hiding the number, AND he has a tinted face shield. I could not return it anyway, because the other half of the two-fer was NASCAR for somebody else, who LOVED his. Kelly or Smith would have been nicer, I agree - but I like what I have!

Of course, BRETT was on the news - he is so dreamy!

Official "I will be at the Tailgate" thread
rockpile replied to Just Jack's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
For those who did NOT know, the space taken by the tent, tables, chairs, and the lawn area where people grill food or just hang out are paid for by the "tailgate fee". Those would be prime rented parking spots if we did not use them for TBD. Something to think about when you stop by and see the "bucket". -

Nice job, Scott! -
Most of these rules are common sense. Unless you are screaming FU during the whole game, dumping beers on other fans, etc - there will be no problem. I they should add "Doing the wave when the Bills have the ball is punishable by incarceration."

On our 25th anniversary, I got the wife a family tree, with photo frames to hang from the branches. At the top was a small heart. On one side it was engraved simply "25" On the other side it was engraved "If the sun refused to shine..." If I have to 'splain it, you are young or I am old. Heh -

I am having a Howard Ballard flashback. -
I was fortunate enough to meet up with Jay, Jack, Cindy, and for the first time - Astrobot (Dean) at camp last night. I also met a guy on the bus who says he stops by every day at TBD and TSW for Bills news, but has not registered (Hi, Don). Jeff Burris stopped over and spoke to Cindy for a bit - damn she knows everybody from the players to the security people! One thing that seemed a common thought was that we did not really KNOW these guys! Only about 25% were veterans of 4 years or more, and some of them are recent free agents. With all the players and coaches playing musical chairs, there is a lack of continuity. The CROWD did not make hardly any noise until almost the end of the 11 on 11 drills. Up until that point it was pretty dull to watch. There were some bright spots: Marcus Stroud is a behemoth, ever see the Juggernaut from the X-Men? Hamdan could very easily prove to be number two QB. Marshawn Lynch will be pro-bowl is he can keep out of trouble. Just a kid. George Wilson was "tagging" (closer to slapping) every RB and WR who danced through the defensive backfield as if to say, "Yeah, you look real good when I can't hit you!" Keep an eye on Xavier Omon - could be a sleeper at RB Leodis McKelvin may be a star one day. Demetrius Bell ... damn I would love to see him go one/one with Stroud! Kawika Mitchell - another one to watch. Do you realize how many almost unknown (to the Bills) names I just listed? Sorry to derail a whiny little thread. I do see this glass as half full, but I am pretty stoopid. If it helps your mood - the QBs took forever to release the ball. I saw 20 sacks last night - if it was at game speed.

Can I borrow $100? I will gladly pay you Tuesday....l -
No one from the media spoke to JP last night. He was watching practice in sweat pants, long sleeve shirt, with matted hair and grunge beard - quite the Bohemian. Had he been holding a "will work for food sign" along the highway, no one would have recognized him. The team looked flat last night - I do not know why!

Who will be at the night practices this week?
rockpile replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What time are people getting there? I kind of hate to catch the first bus and then hang around for a couple hours waiting for practice! -
I remember watching a game when Johnny Unitas (in SanDiego?) through a bomb, and the sideline microphone could pick up his audible "ARRGH!" as he release the ball. Namath in LA was a sad ending to a career too (no, not the "I want to kiss you" thing). eball, I do not hate Brett Favre. If I was a Packers fan, the distraction he is causing the TEAM would really piss me off though. I DO think that Brett has always been about Favre, so I pay little attention. He was a great QB. GG - I'll be in your neck of the woods (relatively) this weekend doing our last trip to Yankee Stadium!

If you get there early, East Rochester is the closest lot to camp You might want to come up 390N to 252 East just south of the city, over to Pittsford-Sutherland; it would be a longer bus ride, but shorter drive home! Google it and decide. Hard to give good advice without knowing if you know the city.
