  1. 1962 Buffalo Bills Boosters Club, Inc. (not Bills Backers) wool topcoat with my father's name embroidered on the inside. I try to wear it to a cold weather game every year.
  2. I met Tom Day in 1964 when I was eleven. He was a guest at our Little Loop football banquet. I even got to shake his hand. That is the day I officially became a life-long Bills fan. I have met dozens of players at signings or training camp, but only have had personal conversations with a few. One player I will never forget was retired NY Giant, Y A Tittle. He was a Hall of Famer at the time (mid to late 90's I think), and quite old. His birthday was only two weeks away and he was pleased when I wished him a "happy birthday". He signed a Giants team photo in Sam Huff's autobiography and his HOF card.
  3. most perfect years young IMHO OK, if hot water heater is bad, is cold water heater OK? I know it is none of my business, but... (then STFU) red state, blue state you wish six pack abs unless I see you first smell you later! you don't look like you have MS
  4. My Stub Hub tix arrived yesterday! We are up in section 315.
  5. Grabbed 6 each to both practices! WOO_HOO!
  6. Just give a few days notice!
  7. That was my point exactly. YES, I have done a lot of chit that could have gotten me arrested. Right now I cannot even smoke a doob because I might be tested, and I need my job! Too many people have been given "Get Out Of Jail Free" cards.

  9. Stupidity is right. I am still a contract employee (month 14) and can be randomly drug tested at any time SO I DO NOT DO DRUGS! These guys are risking Real Money too, not the table droppings I get!
  10. ...and I never smoked pot in the 70's.
  11. Man,you really need a garbage plate to clear your head!
  12. It's for his cat.
  13. Another sure sign of the upcoming season: I got an e-mail today saying my Stu Hub tix will arrive Friday.
  14. Why "unfortunately"? I smoked for over 30 years and have been smoke free for about 13 years, except for maybe one or two cigars a year. It was the worst (and only) addiction I ever had, and I feel SO MUCH BETTER than when I smoked. The first side effect was I had money in my wallet at the end of the week. Whatever you choose to do, good luck!
  15. Here in Rochester, I think you can live comfortably on less than $100K. A cape cod 900 sq ft fixer-upper house that goes for $250K in North Haven CT would easily sell here in an equivalent neighborhood for under $80K.
  16. My daughter home schooled HER kids. She belongs to a conservative church and was concerned about the negative influences, lack of respect and lack of personal accountability SOME kids had. It took her a few years to see the advantages of public schools and realize that a strong family support system was stronger than "isolationist" parenting. All I can say is it worked for her and I make no judgements. Mine were all in public schools and came out just fine. Back to my original point. I truly believe the success of a student is weighted on good students and supportive parents. The school and individual teachers can really enhance the chances they will be prepared for life too. I neither promote or condemn public or private schools. You did not say anything I could take offense to - you just asked some questions.
  17. From the Swami: Jeff "Boy" George
  18. Two Bricks Shy of a Load?
  19. It is the kid and the parents AT LEAST as much as a private school. My daughter has five kids. She home schooled the first three, but now has them in public school (Victor NY). Granddaughter is going into 8th grade, is high honors (3.9 GPA) and is taking a three 9th grade subjects this fall The other kids are dong very well too, "socially, academically, and behavior wise"! My son-in-law is self-employed and they are barely touching lower middle class. It's not money and private schools that make the difference. Just a thought.
  20. I usually have an open mind, but the original movie fit the 1950's so very well. IMO, the current "world" social and political climate is NOTHING like the immediate post WWII, hydrogen bomb, Cold WAR, ICBM, and birth of the space race mood. Some people were scared shitless that world was dooooomed and others arrogantly looked at our technology and assumed we were in control of everything we surveyed in an Ozymandias way. Then this ship landed from another world and made us see we were children. Today so many are fatalistic. A completely different climate. Oh crap, gas is up to $4.20 Damn I dropped my cellphone Did you hear a-Rod is seeing Madonna Oh yeah, a space ship landed in Central park and this big robot got out <pause> Christ did you see American Idol this week? So, wings or pizza? They will have to redo it as a different story.
  21. I hear you big guy. At the time I had just heard about the tailgate ticket problem. It was a few days AFTER it was announced the 100 ticket buy did not happen. I did not want to pay that but did not have time to contact people. Later that same morning section 315 was sold out on Stub Hub! People were GETTING more than I paid to sit under the scoreboard. We will all have to see what we can do to make sure the TBD Tailgate comes off OK. Two months two days, my brother!
  22. Gosh, you ARE a hick!
  23. Closest decent drive-in is a 90 mile round trip so add $16 at 24mpg. I loved it as a teen when one person would drive, and the trunk would have 6 people stuffed in it (big cars back in the late 60's) Or you would tell your 13 year old "shut up, you are eleven!"
