  1. OK. It is not from the same angle. "1billsfan" and "keepthefaith" - you both make very valid points. I am however going on the assumption that the Bills will have a winning year and make the playoffs. If not, get out the scissors. Yes, continuity is bad if it results in perennial suckiness. I am just tired of the revolving door in management.
  2. All of a sudden, $58 each for ten seats together ($71 with tax and fees) does not sound so shiddy.
  3. I think we see it from pretty much the same angle. Jauron may not be the messiah (I never even hinted he was) but I also cannot see HOW changing management every three years is a good thing. It is despair.
  4. That would be a certain fix to the Bills problems. Hey. let's change head coach again! I do not have an answer, but a new staff every three years has not worked in the past decade +
  5. Hey, we all have opinions. I like the Shout! song and you don't. That is OK. Anyone who would get angry about your opinion about a song is unbalanced!
  6. Um, the Redskins - 1938 - Hail to the Redskins, maybe a gem like this Go Packers Go. Makes "Shout" sound like hip hop!
  7. Got my refund check yesterday Jack. Thanks!
  8. Oh yeah, I voted for the tent. That is great for rain AND sunny/95 degrees! Does that include table and chairs? The other stuff is OK, but... funding may be more limited this year!
  9. Are you making a bucket list? <sorry> There will be at least seven in the Rockpile group. By the way there are still lots of decent seats available on Stub Hub (just looked today) for $55 to $65, plus the shipping and %$#&^*&^&!! fees. It would be nice if we could get a list (pinned) of how many and who will be attending this year. Maybe we could get the tailgate "mood" kick started again. Things got awful quiet when the Bills pulled the rug on group sales.
  10. I thought that was a given! Of any team and any sport, the Bills are number one, but in my life, they are about number 20 - after wife, kids, grandkids, close family, close friends, God, country, and career.
  11. There is probably not a lot of talk about Carlin here because there is a fairly long thread "Off the Wall". I was surprised there has not been more reaction in general. I guess Carlin meant a lot more to ME with his irreverant humor than I realized. I will miss his odd way of looking at everyday things.
  12. I wear my Bills stuff after a loss to make a point that I am always a fan.
  13. As long as there is a BUFFALO Bills team, I am a fan - win or lose. If they moved to another city (not just split a portion of the games with Toronto) they would be dead to me.
  14. It's kind of a crap shoot. Sometimes it is great, with discounts on souvenirs, vendors giving some stuff away, players staying late to sign autographs, etc. If it is cold and rainy they may just pack it up early. They are open to the public unless noted. EVENING practice requires a ticket - but they are free - (sometimes available thru ticket master other times at a local business only). Everything changes daily!
  15. Believe it or don't. My first trip to Rich Stadium was not until week two of the 1975 season. I used my brother's season tickets. I lived in NJ at the time and did not get home much. I moved back to Silver Lake in the winter of '74 and was dirt poor. I had lost touch with the Bills a bit, because they were not on TV in NJ unless they played the Jets (or Giants) or were on MNF. I remember: they won (beat the Steelers) the weather was great the first time I walked out of the upper deck ramp and looked down at the field, it took a few minutes for my mind to absorb the SIZE of the place! it took my breath away! Remember my only games before that were at the Rockpile, which was not HALF the size of Rich Stadium!
  16. I think you did a fine job finding the right words. Get well, my friend. Tom
  17. As Lori suggested, East Rochester HS is the best parking now. Get there early. especially for day practices or you WILL be in East Jesus (Pittsford-Mendon HS I think). I miss Nazareth, Pittsford Plaza, and didn't they also do ParknRide from Panorama Trail in the past too? I definitely think the WNYTBDGPS needs to meet for Training Camp!
  18. For tax purposes, my assessment has been bumped three times in nine years, increasing about $40,000. Each time I contested it and each time the response was a miniscule compromise by the town. I expect to pay close to $6K in school and property taxes annually on a house appraised around $140K. I was born in Lackawanna, grew up in Hamburg and Silver Lake, lived for a couple years in Jersey, and have spent the past 27 years in Rochester. I love WNY, but there is little to keep the next generation here with no jobs. There is little to keep retirees here on fixed incomes and taxes that are about the highest in the nation. I love the WNY lifestyle - now if the government will just get out of my pocket, maybe I will retire here some day.
  19. There are not a lot of facts at this point, except that he is very ill. I am amazed at how many know him by name and have had many (PM) conversations with him! He has definitely touched a lot of our lives. Hang in there big guy!
  20. I really hope I would not drive away. My ideals scream at me to do the right thing, but... unless you have walked in those shoes, who really knows?
  21. I try not to compare myself to anyone. I try very hard not to judge others' actions. In my past, I have driven when I had no business walking. I only HOPE if I ever had hit someone I would have stopped.
