Blame Canada! Will you and Pat be at the opener? -
Here's my Training Camp Report from 7/26/08 AM
rockpile replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks, Mike! -
What I appreciate the MOST from a post like yours is that you state fact and opinion but your fandom is still very clear when you look to the future. You see the good and focus on that instead of whining (or complaining) about everything. I look forward to tipping a cold one or three with you on opening day.

TRAINING CAMP PARKING! (full schedule posting)

Is it me, or does it seem that every year Training Camp offers LESS than the year before? -
But I will bet your religious friends would say that God is their Father (and yours). I know that if I let my children die of hunger when I had access to a cupboard full of food, using "I was just testing their faith" as my defense would not float.

Yup! -
Only if we can agree on the definition of "extreme need".

I like the addition of video links, preview of latest posts, layout, change of players (more current). I kind of miss the player background with the grid with the team name, city skyline, and aerial shot of the Ralph at the top of the page. It is more bold visually. Nice!

WNYTBDGPS Training camp session this Friday?
rockpile replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 2008 Training Camp season is officially underway! JÂy RÛßeÒ, 34-78-83, and me had the first sanctioned meeting of the WNYTBDGPS on a sunny Rochester day. 34-78-83 was going to afternoon practice, but me and Jay had to return to work. <sigh> The Plates were not up to their usual quality today. We decided the macaroni salad dressing was definitely mixed incorrectly. The only one behind the counter we recognized was veteran and future lock for the Garbage Plate HOF, Alex Tahou. The rest were strangers (possibly free agents or rookies who need to learn the system). I hope this was just a Training Camp FUBAR and will be fixed after viewing the film! Caramelization has begun.... Must drink water... -
Sorry for the crappy formatting. I saw NO Bills training camp parking lot signs coming from Rochester to Fairport. I get off at the St John Fischer exit, too! Update 7/29: Parking at East Rochester High is supposed to be open for the 7/29 night practice East Rochester High 200 Woodbine Avenue East Rochester NY Lots open at 4:15PM Route 153 - Washington Street is open from 31F to West Ivy. Turn right then right again on Woodbine. If you take 31F to East Main Street, Woodbine Avenue is the third left. There are tree branches hiding the sign. Locals can take whatever shortcuts they want, but this should work if you get there EARLY enough. From BB.com this morning: Barker Road Middle School will serve as the overflow lot if lots are full. There will be a $1 charge for fans to ride the shuttle buses (for riders between the ages of 12-62) and all services are accessible for guests with disabilities. WNYTBDGPS Training camp session this Friday?
rockpile replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be there, at noon or a few minutes before if the traffic is OK. -
So, by 21st century standards, our "Father" is a child abuser? We all have our beliefs, right or wrong, and they are all based on faith - even the basic concepts of morality are relative, it would seem..

Truth! My $45 upper deck row 20 seats actually cost me $67 each after fees, to get ten seats together! I would imagine if I had extras I would take a lot of chit if I put them up HERE for $67 + shipping.

I think it was $25K and they were called the "gang of fools" for throwing away their money right? The first five years they (the AFL) almost went under several times. The AFL/NFL merger built the present NFL, unlike the 1940's AAFC which went belly-up, allowing the NFL to cherry pick only the best franchises. -

I can make it. -
Misc Replies: Tomcat – I would have the deck slightly higher than the pool for reasons several have listed. DEFINITELY sink post holes below frost line, preferably 40+ inches or more. If you skip this step, your deck will be very short-lived. Regardless of codes – make sure you have access to the pool (even when covered) LOCKED. Little kids and old drunks drown too easily. I have had decks last over a decade just sinking posts into the concrete footer, without the deck heaving. Be careful with glass beer bottles (and glass in general) near the pool. Chef Jim – Yes, initial cost for an in ground pool is expensive. Mine had an in ground pool when I moved in: 16 x 32 ft, 25000 gallons. I LOVE it. Maintenance cost is really not much more than an above ground, if you keep the water balanced and pool clean. I have never seen an above ground pool that can touch it for overall enjoyment. EII, Gordio, and others – It is true that some see “in ground pool” and cross your house off when looking for a home. Above grounds are easily removed. Others (me) see it as a plus! Marky – I use a solar cover when it is cold at night, otherwise it is always uncovered. No heater since that is a BIG expense. 83 degrees is freaking bath water. Mine never gets over 80 degrees and I love it. Anything over 75 degrees is refreshing. I run my filter half the time only. Gordio – How in God’s name do you spend $1,000 a year on pool maintenance? That crying wife had better be living in that pool! This has been a hot summer – I have been swimming on those “crappy” days.

True. Who knew the space program was mostly funded by Cold War propaganda and would become a space shuttle program of "near Earth" only expeditions? I was just a kid and assumed there would be an established Moon colony by now. Of course 2008 was an infinite distance away then!

What Bills' collectible(s) do you value the most?
rockpile replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Check this out - my modest Bills Bar with many items acquired over the years. Bills Bar It is not the fanciest - but it's mine! -
Talk to her again. Make sure she has listened to what you are asking for - some common consideration. Dogs will bark, but this is insulting to you! If it continues, get a boom box and turn it on loudly every time the dog is barking. Loop AC/DC's "Hells Bells" - over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over . I will bet she listens to that!

I saw them on tour in Rochester when they released this LP. Unbelievable concert! I saw them again at Rich Stadium (Who Are You? Tour) and it was fun but 6,000 fans is SO much better than 80,000 fans.
