45 out of 30. If you are going to cheat, go all the way!
-
Excerpt from the TBD front page: Armstrong County Coroner Bob Bower identified cardiac failure as the cause of death for former NFL offensive lineman and Kittanning graduate Mitch Frerotte. Bower released his finding Thursday, a day after Frerotte died at his Kittanning home at age 43. Lee Walker, Frerotte's older sister, said her family had a history of heart disease. Frerotte's father, Paul, and his 12 brothers and sisters all had heart-muscle disease. "They all died from it," Walker said. "They all passed away young, by their early 50s." ...must have been the 'roids, yup.

The first Hulk movie sucked so much, I will definitely wait until the DVD comes out this time, unless reviews are completely "incredible" I was very disappointed in Elektra <shudder> and not impressed by Daredevil or Fantastic 4 (either of them). Batman Begins is a good example of what a "comic book" movie can be. Spider-Man and X-Men also are at least on the right track!

I scored ten tickets off Stub Hub for $59.95 each yesterday morning. I am glad I did because they are the cheapest seats I would choose to buy, and were gone by last night. I hate being under the scoreboard, and I am not crazy about the lowest rows in the opposite end zone (just my preference). I got decent seats in section 315, comparable to TSW seating, withOUT the great company. sigh. I will be bringing family and friends and hope to see you there. Plans are to park at Hammers, but I do not know what will happen about the TBD tailgate. We will look for whoever is around: at Danny's Saturday night and at Hammer's and Lot One Pole Five on Sunday.

So if I bought a pair of season tickets today...

What type of cell phone does your teenager have?
rockpile replied to tmk-nj's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My 12 year old granddaughter has a Tracfone. It is to call for a ride home when there are after school activities, etc. It is convenient and a bit if security of she needs to call someone NOW. If she wastes her monthly minutes, they are gone and she has to wait. She has learned to budget her phone time. -

The thing that sucks the most, is the 7 tix I need for my family plus tax plus shipping will cost well over $100 more than originally planned. That does NOT count $42 more for the TBD Tailgate perks. IF I come to the opener I will park at Hammer's and be a 'visitor' at TBD. -
Tickets are selling like crazy! 52,000 +
rockpile replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am glad fans are suporting the team this way, but am very sad to not be able to buy group tickets this year, ESPECIALLY for the home opener. I can always find a seat to a game, but it is harder or too expensive, to find seven together. Good news and Bad news I guess. Go Bills! -
This really sucks. I can find ten tickets together at $56 + fees (upper deck visitor side). That is the cheapest for ten together. I can also find 18 together (my original reservation) at $79 and up. The cheapest for 18 together are lower end zone under the scoreboard. Jack, sit tight for now. I will find out what my "group" wants to do and let you know soon. All I know for sure is that I will be there, but the "Rockpile Section" will number will now be MUCH less than eighteen. It might be just me! Thanks for trying!

I thought you didn't have a lawn! F#$@ing liar! -
Long Riders is a classic! What about Brother From Another Planet?
-
For the most part, as long as it is green and does not have spikes, it is OK in my lawn. I use the weed n feed to keep the wife happy (she hates dandelions) and to keep me happy (I don't like a brown lawn). That is maintenance, not obsession. Oh, you know you LIKE to be a dick! You're right though, we got a lot of "pool" days last summer.
-
How big is your lawn? I have over 15,000 square feet (lawn not LOT size). I subtract the house, pool, garden, and playground (for the grandkids and wife's daycare) to figure the size. I basically weed and feed in May, do the grub killer (Merit is great) in early June, mow on the tallest setting, and weed and feed again in late June. I reseed in the fall sometimes. Once the lawn is healthy, it needs a lot less water. I mow the front and sides using a walk behind self-propelled mower. Takes about 45 minutes and 5000 steps on my pedometer. I mow around obstacles in the back yard with the same mower in the back, then finish with my John Deere (it's older than some of you). I have a gas trimmer and do all my own edging and trimming. A couple years back I neglected the lawn and we had a combination of drought and grubs. I lost a third of the lawn but restored it myself. I raked out the dead spots, re-seeded and watered. I *could* have scraped it all off and started over, but I didn't. It is not that much work in perspective. I laugh when I see people who pay to get all stressed out to work out in a crowded gym, and then pay someone to mow and edge their lawn. Duh. My workout is sometimes caring for the lawn and a small vegetable garden that I turn over by hand with a shovel, fork, and rake - THAT's a workout. In the summer I take breaks in the pool! Good luck!

Time Warner Internet User? You might want to read this:
rockpile replied to Talonz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Mrs Rock said we got a letter in the mail from Time Warner with the bill, offering internet service at a reduced price. I did not read the details, just told her to toss the "offer" away. I do not recall the details but it sounded liked a good price, but it also sounded like about 25% of the current speed. -

Best birthday card so far: A birthday is like a vacuum cleaner. It's just there, and then it sucks. And when it's not sucking, it's there waiting to suck. Inside: Sorry - next year I'll get you one of those cards with a rainbow on it. Birthdays do not bother me. Not having any more birthdays would be a drag. Thanks. -

Your profile says you were born in 1909. Either you are real old, or do not know what century this is. -
You sound like a nice guy, and I mean no offense, but you asked. You and your sister both need to lighten up a LOT. You rode into town with a chip on your shoulder, and took everything as an attack or insult. She acted exactly the way you expected. Just be yourself, ignore her ignorant comments (biting the tongue is like shaking a Pepsi), but definitely do not let her scare your baby by angrily yelling near her. By the way, once in a while, especially when traveling, extending the bed time is not unusual. As far as "you think it's bad now, wait until she is 3 (or 4, or 5. or 18)" used to piss me off too. Now, I tell younger parents that they grow as the kids grow, so it all evens out! You need to talk to your sister, admit some of the difficulties were your fault, and see if you can work things out so you can be family. Or just "cut bait" and write her off. Life is too short. Buy your wife some flowers, give her a hug, and apologize to HER. Sounds like she got the short end of the stick on this trip. Good luck.

Well, it has not given us the ability to differentiate the difference between the circumference of your belly and someone's perceived fiscal irresponsibility.

Discovery, making its way to the international space station, is carrying the orbiting outpost's biggest room by far — Japan's $1 billion lab. The shuttle is also delivering a spare pump for the space station's malfunctioning toilet. shuttle mission Since volume and weight are at a premium, they are also (at my suggestion) taking along a tennis ball for the old plug hole!
