  1. Bills 31 Chargers 24 Take it to Vegas. The magic eight ball has spoken.
  2. Are you astral projecting or was that a metaphor?
  3. I know that was AFL. Heck they would have played Frontier High School if they thought it would sell tickets those 1st couple years. Maybe they were scouting Cookie?
  4. Yes, Lot 1 pole 5 is Two Bills Drive unofficial HQ after opening day. Kenny and his famous Pinto are very close, too. I prefer Hammer's on Abbott Rd but I admit I often go to Lot 1 after opening day (sorry Eric) since I know more people there. GET THERE EARLY and take it all in!
  5. In 1961, the AFL Bills DID play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Hamilton and lost 38-21. Have any other AFL or NFL teams played a CFL game?
  6. Hmmm.............. So October 13th will always be a Sunday?
  7. He has a speaker in there. A coach has to yell "Duck!"
  8. Fatso is a GREAT read. I think it is sub-titled, "Football when Men were Men." His anecdotes are fanatastic, and I am sure embellished. Back to Edwards, he has been taking those shots all season long. When you stand in there, focusing on your receiver, knowing somebody is going to hit you like a tsunami, it is only a matter of time before you get hurt. He has to figure out a successful way to "chuck and duck" or his career will be short. Question: How often was Jim Kelly injured to a degree where he missed all, part, or multiple games? I AM NOT COMPARING EDWARDS TO KELLY! It just seems that Kelly played tough and refused to back down, and the result was injury. Anyone have any stats?
  9. I never said I did not have loans, but I paid them all back. I guess it was the "maybe sallie mae will fold and ill get my medschool education for free!!....(sic)" remark that bugged me. I know you were at least HALF joking, but too many people today really think somebody besides themselves owes them a bail out. One daughter went back to grad school recently and is feeling the pain. Nothing personal, just speaking my mind.
  10. This is why those of us who actually paid for our education, bought homes we could afford, lived within our means, did not carry credit card debt, always worked (sometimes two jobs) and always saved something for the future and rainy days, have little pity for newly homeless people who defaulted on $2k plus a month mortages, while making $8 an hour. ...and No, we did not walk ten miles to school every day, both ways up hill!
  11. Born in '53. My Dad was a Bills fan and co-founded the Buffalo Bills Boosters Club, Inc, the rest are all "Bills Backers". I remember training camps but I am not sure where they were held. My earliest memory of the Bills is watching them practice while eating a popsicle, sittinging top of a huge mound of dirt. We got bored and played "King of the Hill". I went to a few dozen games at the rockpile. I hated getting stuck behind a pole in the covered end zone. Once we saw some the Bills play local disk jockeys in an off season basketball game - I think for charity. The Bills used to have to pick up jobs in the off season because many did not make enough playing to live on! I used to love watching people fight over FG's and extra points kicked into the stands (no goal post nets). I met Tom Day in 1964 and was hooked for life. I remember working at Foit's on the lake shore in Hamburg and Ed Rutkowski came in for dinner. He was the "disaster" QB at the time. Had to listen to MANY games on the radio. I remember my dad watching on AFL game on one TV, an NFL game on a smaller portable TV, and listening to the Bills on the radio. When we got a motorized roof antenna we watched a lot of CFL games too. Lots of great memories.
  12. You did not see the +/- 100 photos that were deleted! Also , some of the stuff I cropped out Always a pleasure for us too, Sid!
  13. Damn, that was an ugly car!
  14. So, I guess using entertainment value as a factor, there should be special rules for smacking any player who adds some excitement to a game, right? A QB is paid to stand there and expose himself to horrendous hits when he is most vulnerable, like a kicker or punter or someone calling a fair catch. He knows he is going to get hit hard but he should also expect to be hit "clean", meaning knock the snot out of me but do it within the rules. I say this generically, since I do not want to argue whether or not THIS hit was dirty or not. That has already been covered.
  15. I understood what you meant (valid points). The OL is already dumbed down. <sigh> I miss Kent Hull!
  16. That is because guests on talk shows are often little more than a movie trailer. People have forgotten how to have a conversation or listen when something new comes along. Every now and you get surprised.
  17. So you will forgive me if I do not read what you wanted to say, right? I do not have the patience to try to sort out this run-on sentence / paragraph. Now, if we were in the same room with some cold beer, it would probably flow just fine. Just a thought for future threads, amigo. Rock
  18. You have passed the test, Grasshopper!
  19. Dumb it down any more and they will be using Legos to diagram it.
  20. He is just a maverick.
  21. I am a legend in my own mind!
  22. Actually I look for Bill's post game threads because they are intended to start a conversation about the game. They are his opinions and he is entitled to them (as you are entitled to yours). I do not think he is offering them as gospel. Did you have a particular reason for taking a shot at him? I am just curious.
  23. I missed it, but it was pointed out on the chat room.
  24. I believe the ground caused the fumble. I was angry Jauron did not challenge, but it is only my opinion. I certainly agree we (REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY) need a tight end. Better to be 4-1 then 1-4 anyday! Get well, Trent, for sure. JP is a backup not a leader. Go Bills! I am glad this is our bye week.
  25. when I try IE I get his message " This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage. For more information about HTTP errors, see Help."
